Difficult to watch. Kate, as always, comes across as being charming, gracious, intelligent and tolerant. Desmond Morris, however, comes across as being a rather patronising individual!

How original to have a chat show where the guest doesn't have something to sell to the public and the host is not cringingly sycophantic. When I was young I enjoyed watching Desmond Morris in all his programs although I could never understand why with his background and study of human biology / psychology he would have the need for the comb over hairdo - glued down with Brillcream.

@Softrockman I've never understood the comb-over myself. I suspect it starts innocently enough with men who have always parted their hair on one side letting the part creep over further and further trying to cover the bald patch at the top, never admitting to themselves that the "bald patch" is now the entire top of their head. They get caught in the lie, they can't admit (even to themselves) that they lied and it gets worse and worse.

@KateBushvideos, Yes I understand and that's my point, Desmond Morris has studied and written many well respected books on human anatomy and biology like 'The Naked Ape' the study on human kind and all our foibles, so how come a scientists succumbs to such a negative trait, surely this kind of behavior is the antithesis of all he holds dear - or perhaps that's the point - he's happy just being one of us ?

One of my favourite Kate interviews, a very educated chap with no particular agenda except he clearly was interested in her work. OK, so he probably fancied her a bit but fair play to him. And she was so charismatic. I love her.

This is light years away from what pop stars are like these days in interviews. Pop stars these days are so shallow and full of themselves. Nobody even makes good pop music anymore, 1 good pop song 10 years ago and your a celebrity, or the new trend insta-celebrity, of course you have to be dysfunctional for that to work. All part of the decline of western civilization.

It's ironic now that Kate said she sees herself developing particularly on stage. She hasn't done another tour since her first one in 1979 although her videos did become more cinematic eg Experiment IV (featuring many British comedians), Hounds of Love, Cloubusting (featuring Donald Sutherland), The Sensual World and she made a film The Line, the cross and the curve featuring 6 songs from The Red Soes album.

I think she fell in love with sound - Fairlight and all - and retreated into the studio. But it also had a lot to do with the media: this interview notwithstanding, British media just got progressively ugly throughout the 80s.

True, but did you read the reviews and articles on "Aerial"? The only negative one I can remember was in Pitchfork, and it was so poorly written and ignorant that it can be discarded. NOW Kate is seen as an important and influential artist by the media. I still hold out hope that she may tour one day. Just wait till her son Bertie is a sullen 14 year old, and she's looking for a way to get out of the house for a bit.

I have loved Kate Bush since I was a very small girl. In fact her Wuthering Heights vid is how I learned to do a cartwheel! She is England's national treasure.
