Anyway, In lots of scifi stuff there are transparent Monitors. But I see them really impracticable as for anything but to show data when theres not much space. On a Monitor you want black spaces to be as black as possible. Watching a movie on a transparent screen could be comparable to have a shiny screen with the full sunlight in your back.

Dude, you're brilliant! I just bought a Panasonic HMC-150 and was wanting to put a hologram effect in my video using Final Cut and Motion. I saw all these different tutorials and got discouraged. But yours was ridiculously easy! I made a computer display with photoshop, bright neon colors with a black background and used the 'add' blend mode. Looks fantastic! Thank you very much!

@leafblowinSK8 haha, thank you. I shoot all my footage with a Canon HV20, which was about $800 USD when I bought it. Nowadays, even its successor is cheaper than that. To be brief in explaining this effect, the display (partly a previous project of mine, partly created in photoshop) is placed over the footage of me on my couch, with the blending mode set to "Add" (which removes the black) and some "Basic 3D" distortion. There's then a couple duplicates, with various amounts of blur (for glow).

@CosmosDarwin woah! thats genius, i was gonna ask like how did u make this cuz its way better than the video copiolt version and ur javis effect way out does ben hughes hologram, like ur javis effect was superb just like iron man i give u mad props ur stuff has a hollywood level excellence, not to step on bens toes or anything lol, so u have a HV20 huh thats nice i think it beats my HG10 but i love my nee hd camera non the less lol
