  • "What don't you like about this suit, Jeeves?"

"Well, sir, you seem to be wearing it as clothing, which is obviously unacceptable."

  • Awwww! Jeeves' face when they said they hated cats.. I bet Jeeves' had cats, lol. :3

  • 1:49 Anyone else notice the X-Men first class location?

  • @TotalComposure Highclere castle?

  • @80spauline Yup

  • Thanks a bunch for uploading this, fine chap!

  • My granddaddy got me hooked on this show. Everyone should read the books they are just as amusing as the show. Because of this show I can't watch House. Hugh should always be allowed to be British. Love British comedies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wait. Did he change his suit after all?

I mean, the one he wears at first is grey'ish and at the train-station he wears (seemingly) the brown one. Am I observing this correctly?

  • @bloodsteam yes you are ^^

  • I love Stephen in this part .... what a Class

  • LOL, they're talking about cunning foxes... Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie were both in Blackadder... xD. Who else got the connection ;)?

"I have a cunning plan, sir."

"Is it as cunning as a fox that was just appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University?"

  • in-pond-erable XD

  • It has been more than 16 years since this episode was shot. I wonder what became of the little boy. Has he made a career in acting or in show business?

  • @tnakai1971jp Unfortunately not. The last thing he did was in 1992.

  • @TaylerIsAComedyFan

I see. I thought he would have been quite a character. Perhaps he chose to lead a life away from public attention. Thank you for letting me know.

  • Bertie is moe a slave to his aunts more than Jeeves although sometimes.....

  • Oh, that impeccable, perfectly composed, yet so revealing expression on Jeeves' face during the exchange regarding the choice of suits...classic.

  • "This is Oswald." I love the comtempt in his voice when he says Oswald

  • I love Bingo Little's throbbing romantic voice! So appropriate to his character!

  • @wolfxbloed you are a legend. you truly are a god (or godess) thank you for uploading these. i never get tired of them!

  • that, obviously, is a big no no to the suit

  • PEKES! XD 4:09 They look like Kang and Momo!

  • hugh laurie is ADORABLE here! And of course we all need our own personal Jeeves..

  • I don't think I could handle being patronised so much.

  • I didn't think this would be very good- Hugh Laurie sort of spoiled my image of Bertie from the books (I let my teenage fantasies draw him out to be a whole lot cuter), but Stephen Fry makes for a flawless Jeeves, and Hugh Laurie is a wonderful actor- translating Bertie's adorably uncomfortable retardation onto the screen. I like this a lot. <3

  • Jeeves is the definition of suave class and dignification and Wooster is so loveable and naive. GIMME!!!!!!!

  • @sexymckittington

I would imagine 'Jeeves & Wooster' is what people could consider a more sophisticated type of comedy whereas 'A Bit of Fry & Laurie' is just outright silliness, a lot like Monty Python. But then again it's all down to what you prefer. I for one like both equally.

  • @sexymckittington No, it's not necessarily a comedy. Appeals to a very particular sense of humor. Most people watch because Fry and Laurie are gorgeous.

  • @wolfxbloed I'm not sure people watch/watched it because they are "gorgeous", but because they are good.

  • @wolfxbloed It's loosely based on Wodehouse's "Jeeves" stories. It's not a sketch show, I suppose you could call it a comedy drama?

Regardless, the problem is that you came in expecting to watch one thing and found yourself watching another.

  • @wolfxbloed

and because JeevesxWooster is amazing.. lol.

  • @sexymckittington Well, it's an acquired taste, and although Fry and Laurie do make this TV show absolutely adorable, the books by P.G. Wodehouse are extremely adorable and hilarious as well. However, the humor is very British, so not everyone gets it. Also, this humor is more sophisticated than all the TV show junk nowadays, but then again, it's all a matter of opinion. Carry on Jeeves!!

  • @sexymckittington give it time, i think it will grow on you. if you're a fan of the books especially, you'll come to see what an almost impossibly excellent job they have done :)

  • @sexymckittington P. G. Wodehouse is, in my humble but extremely accurate opinion, one of the funniest writers of all time. And somehow the gods and stars conspired to arrange the chance meeting of Fry and Laurie, gain their trust, and establish their genius, simply so that they could star in this series. They ARE Jeeves and Wooster. I can think of no other pair of actors so suitible for these roles. As to ranking the funny, I laugh just as hard at this as at "A Bit".

  • @sexymckittington That's exactly what I thought when I first started watching this show... but give it a couple more episodes to appreciate the subtlety. I myself now LOVE Jeeves and Wooster!

  • @sexymckittington I should point out that the books are far, far funnier. They're written first person, from Bertie Wooster's perspective, and consequently what he tells the reader about his own thoughts and motives and the way he perceives everything around him is ridiculously hilarious.

  • Jeeves' dissaproving stare :DD

  • Those dogs are so cute!!!!XD

  • love Bingo, so hilarious. Wonder why they changed him.

  • I want a Jeeves! Basically a man servant that makes me dinner and draws my baths!

  • Perfectly blithering Jeeves may be.......but Bertie still wears the Harris tweed.....love it!

  • I just discovered this stuff. This young Wooster reminds me of Alexander Siddig AKA Dr. Julian Bashirfrom Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Imagine my shock to find it was House?!

  • @sulljoh1 Now you mention it, there is a keen resemblance!

  • What is Berties initial comment about Honoria "Big girl......I keep rewinding and can't hear it I got the sargeant major stuff

  • it seems to me that when some more decades pass (in about 2050s), everyday life of 1920-30s will be studied through this series! :))) everything from cars and costumes to electric stoves and ironing is represented extremely well =)

  • @MultiSk2010 I have no clue what kind of person would reach such a conclusion as that-- it's undeniably odd-- but it is a downright brilliant conclusion.

  • @ageorge33333 :))) well, i am not sure that my idea is as strange as you say.. i just wanted to praise this show once again! in that case, i believe i'm an imaginative kind of person :P

p.s. - i apologize for my poor English, not my native language however

  • I love jeeves way of speaking^^

Great series- watched all seasons :)

  • Hahahaha. I never noticed this before. Earlier, Wooster REFUSES to change out of his grey DB suit, and in the very next scene, he's wearing a brown suit just as Jeeves suggested.

  • @Shangas It is the will of the fashionista Jeeves

  • @rileyandstella Yes, I suppose Jeeves got his way in the end...I wonder what kind of conversation took place?

J: Sir, I really must insist...the brown of the suit will hide any smoke and soot-stains...

W: But I don't WANT to wear it! I won't wear it! No! No! No! No! No! Waaaah!!

J: Very well, but I have put all your other clothes in the washing-machine, so you'll either wear that or go naked...

W: Oh you cunning fox...I am SO firing you later on...

  • @Shangas You are funny!! best thing I have read all day. Thanks for that!!

  • @Shangas Though I wonder if the book could also enlighten us I will look it up

  • What is bertie's reliance on his aunts. I thought due to his parents death that he was not someone who was reined in on an allowance. is it just his good nature that makes him submit to their authority?

  • @tiemedown From what I read, Bertie has so many aunts because Wodehouse himself had several aunts which he was obliged to spend time with as a youngster, and that gave him the inspiration for it.

  • I was just wondering if they controlled any of his finances, but your prolly right, his code just compels him :)

  • I have the DVDs. You should get them, too. They are all very good.

  • That's a lot of steam for such a sprinkling of water. but then I've never used those irons before so I can't really say.

  • 1:47 -- The Glossops' "Ditteridge Hall" is actually Englefield House in Berkshire.

  • It's too bad this Bingo Little left the show, he's much better than the other guy!

  • in pond....'orrible!

  • I love Bertie's thingness and Jeeves enormous brain. "Jeeves takes a size 14 hat, eats tons of fish and moves in mysterious ways his wonders to perform."

  • I love this pair<3 And I love English humour!

  • This takes so long to load! But even so, thanks for posting this great programme.

  • Well they do bear an amazing resemblance :)

  • Usually you can tell if Jeeves disapproves if he gives the look of dissapointment lol

  • I want bacon and eggs on silver

  • I agree that this show is incredible, but I personally prefer the books. It is my advice to anyone who hasn't read them to do so instanta!

  • Lol i wish woman could have valets...

  • Skydancinghobbit- I'm sure women can have valets these days. I've always thought I could do with one myself.

  • No, No, only Oswald's going to be un-pond- erable! Un POND- erable. Ha Ha Ha.

  • Boko Fittleworth IMDB says he was in two episodes which ones were they? Anyone? he was played by Richard Stirling

  • he was in the episodes - The Village Sports Day at Twing (or, the Gambling Event) (1990) - In Court After the Boat Race (or, Jeeves' Arrival) enjoy old bean

  • I caught him in the sports day but not in the first one was he in the drones?

  • im not sure, i think not though.

  • Love Jeeves and his fashionista-ness and totally agree on the latter one with the captain jacket

  • I want a valet!

    <:{

  • This show is amazing, top to bottom. The acting, the comedy, the costumes (hats NEED to come back into style), the sets, all of it.

  • @shiftyjake Agreed about the hats, and this show...AMAZING! By Jove, this show is amazing.

  • @shiftyjake The trilby (which is similar to the fedora that Wooster wears) is certainly coming back into fashion (I've got a grey one, myself) and I've seen a few fellows wearing bowler hats when I go out (the black, round hat that Jeeves wears...also called a 'Derby').

  • @Shangas I've seen those, too. And I applaud them :)

  • @shiftyjake

I still wear mine when I go out...got it in London three years ago...black fedora...

  • My mother and I could pass as Jeeves and Wooster during that argument about the suit at the beginning of the clip. That just makes this show extra hilarious for me.

  • "In-pond-erable" LOL love Bertie!!

  • I think they both look hot in their suits! Oh Bertie! Oh my Jeeves! I want one of each!

  • Oh bless--what a pleasant notion.

  • @rileyandstella I'm afraid Jeeves is gay... unless you are... in which Wooster is straight... either way, without rohypnol you can only have one!

  • @PatRibsey Jeeves isn't gay for all his engagments to ladies in the books and this series it is Stephen himself who is gay. All the women flirt with Jeeves in different bits and he enjoys it clearly.

  • Stephen Fry is completely unflappable as Jeeves. And that anodyne intonation of his makes everything he says so much more sarcastic.

  • @PurushaDesa Why is Jeeves serving at the table, instead of the host's (Sir Roderick Glossop) butler, who's instead standing in the background, against the wall? Gheorghyi

  • It is kind of weird seeing Hugh Laurie in House as an extremely intelligent, arrogant asshole, nevertheless likable and here, playing an blabbering, utter idiot. The guy sure can act.

  • His being playing blabbering idiots for far longer than House. This always strikes me as Lieutenant George before he got shipped off to Flanders and into one Capitan Blackadder's unit.

  • You gotta love Jeeves' remarkable command of English ("frought with the possibility of mishap"), compared with Wooster's equally remarkable inability to say anything at all ("just plain...thingness").

  • Comment removed

  • thats cause it is hugh laurie,

  • I reckon it's because he is Hugh Laurie. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • That might have something to do with the fact that he IS Hugh Laurie. Just a thought.

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW ;-) !!!!!!!!!

  • i love the way jeeves lays things out (for bertie) so neat and orderly. he also cleans up after him. damn wouldnt it be good to have him always on hand

  • Mmm wouldn't it ;)

  • yes, although i get the feeling maybe we mean in sl diff ways ;-)

  • lmao so you cottoned on =] lol

I love Stephen Fry but not in like a fancy sort of way but in this there is just something about him =]

  • oh yes :-P

  • Lol xx

  • I got what you mean. He´s not handsome or hot but when he plays Jeeves the character "takes over him" and he gets handsome.

  • Jeeves makes being passive-aggressive an art.

And the best part is when Bertie goes, "I am not one of those fellows who become absolute slaves to their valets," and everyone watching goes "Yeah right!"

  • I want a Jeeves of my own

  • "That's absolute rot, Jeeves!"

    "Very good, Sir."

"Perfectly blithering my dear man! Hm!"

    "Just as you say, Sir."

One of my favourite parts :)

  • "Oh balderdash Jeeves, not to say flapdoodle" :-)

  • I love cats. Just because they think they own the world.

  • I love cats too.

  • foxes are vermin Mr. Wooster.

  • "It's All right."
