There aren't many land vehicles with more than one drive engine, are there?
Is it all automatic, or does the operator need to keep an eye on two engines... and if so, is there a "multi-engine rating" you need to operate one of these?
Hey vantagetes, Jason isnt it?Do you have engineers/surveyors quantifying all the volumes of material you shift or is it based on per truck/scraper load etc?either way must be a fair task keeping on top of volumes
@starsailorer Usually the developer (client) does a GPS survey at the end to double check but daily we go off average load size. Every day I have to track how many loads, how far each load went, average size and what kind of material.
@vantagetes Over here (UK) we have to survey topsoil strip/muck strip/rdl strip and even then we have constant arguments over volumes and the works are nothing like on your scale.Must be hard work keeping on top of all the movements. This is best part of my job thou when we 1st get the site started on earthworks.although biggest we have usually is the D6R,but they do sound awesome.we do alot of tandem pushing with usually 3 D6's.i spend half my day just watching them.
@vantagetes n this big stuffs great to watch but i love the heart of the 973c,when 1 of our drivers is in a playful mood ive seen him hit 60t of lined up mot and plough straight through it,great power and sound for somethin just under 30t.Thinking of going to work in aus or cananda in the nw year n watching ur vids has been a big insite into your way of working.big thumbs up for all the video work.
@starsailorer Where I work they usually measure the volumes in the cut, not in the fill. Everything is surveyed, not counting loads. If you're cutting on an angle, or picking up cheesy clay, you get alot less in your bowl. But our company has a much smaller fleet then what's seen here. Would love to try out one of those scrapers, only been on a 615.

Hi vantagetes,
This shows to an ignoramus like me that these 'scraper' operators are as skilled as most other earth movers . Great video thanks.
Take care

That last scraper looked like it had curb scrapers lol

Are they cutting down lifting the slope? I don't see how they'd change the angle. I don't know much about pans tho
