you guys are being ungrateful. atleast this shop actually shows you how the cymbals sound in context with a beat, unlike other where the cymbal is a standalone thing. be happy you get some preveiw of what it will sound like when all mashed together.

on a much lighter note, this cymbal is so good i actualy want to take it home and make sweet drumming love to it

yeah it looks a lot different. On Paiste's web site it just has the black coating over the hammer marked area. Kinda like the stewart copeland sign. ride but black instead of blue. Can anyone figure this out for all of us?

I also saw some pics of Charlie from Blotted Science using one of these and it looked a bit like this one but you could see the hammer marks more pronounced. Less runny paint look. Great sounding ride nonetheless. gonna get on someday.

Simple, it's not a coating but the raw, oxidized surface of the cymbal. As such, it can look quite different from cymbal to cymbal.
