  • last, we need some unbiased views (where reason is not crowded by religious zeal or fanatism, both equally bad). I read this book by Vadakekkara called " Origin of Christianity in India: a historiographical critique ".

At the end of it, faith is about traditions and beliefs, we have abundancy of those. As for one building being built on other, history is full of those, there were conquerers and the vanquished, sadly there are still some who refuse to learn from history.

  • Second you will have to read the painstakingly documented book by Prof. Ninan called "History of early Christians in India". Some of our less tolerent friends call Prof. Ninan a ".... who writes all sorts of things". But I liked the way he has built on the references.

  • @Thulasisinusandnose, My friend you will need to seek the truth with an open mind. Christianity in India is as old as Chirst himself and was here much before the West. I'm proud to be an INDIAN CHRISTIAN, an Indian first, despite all the vested propaganda about conversions I take pride proud of my community's contribution to the development and well being of this country, especially the poor and downtrodden.

  • SanThome Basillica: The old church was completed in 1523. And the present church was completed in 1893. These are facts and it is believed the pre-history starts about 10 centuries ago when St.Thomas arrived to India. So my opinion is if our Hindu brothers badly wants to rebuild the temple (as if they dont have enough already) LET THEM. Please go ahead. Anything for peace in this country. Also do let us know if all other religion as to get out. To me looks like thats what the speaker wants.

  • Hindus unite, save India, Save Hinduism

  • there us enough tradition to substantiate that St.Thomas, an Apostle of Jesus, did indeed travel to India and the Chirstianity here in India us as ikd as Jesus himself. The faith was in India much before the west and rest of Europe. The claims in the video just does not make sense as St.Thomas was taken to an isolated mountain and then martyred. It is at this place that we have the SanTHome Church today.

  • @stanydias . Bullshit man! How did they catagorically arrive at 52 AD. Wonder of wonders! If you read the life stories of the Indian saints we will come to know that they wrested India from Buddism and Jains and not Christianity. Their encounters with Buddist and Jain kings are described in detail in our scriptures, but nothing about christian kings and saints. How come? I searched and could find Christian poems and literature written only after the15th century after the missionaries arrived.

  • @Thulasisinusandnose

You may want to start your research here :

    1. First your may want to start with Ishwar Sharan's book called 'The Myth of St.Thomas...". If you can digest some of the hatred spewn in , you would come out fairly convinced that Christianity never existed and St.Thomas never visited India. Probably by then you would also be convinced of the author's agenda too.

  • @Thulasisinusandnose, Dear all, I would be willing to admit Christianity in India is older than Christ himself if you show one bit of evidence. I will convert to Christianity if you if you prove it. Will you convert to Hinduism if I prove that Mr Thomas never came to India and there was no christianity in India before the 15 th century?

  • Arunagirinathar and Thirugnana Sambandar sang about a Kapaleeswarar temple on the shores in Mylapore. If Santhome Church was the original and earlier one, how come they did not see it. Shankarar (7 -8 AD) single handedly destroyed Buddism and Jainism from India. The alleged site of landing of Mr Thomas, Kodungallur, is a stone throw away from Kaladi, Where our great man Adi Shankara was born. If there was a Christian community there, he would have taken on them first.

  • @stanydias Dear friend, tradition is not proof. Please show some historical, archeological, literary proof. Repeating a lie over and over again does not become the truth. If you show some solid irrevocable proof all of India will be at your feet. I will be the first one to convert.

  • singer is T.M SounderRajan

  • Who is the singer?

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • @jollyboy26 so what if it really was constructed by destroying old Kapaleeswarar Temple???......are they gon demolish the church????

These niggas jus lying, there was no temple there before the church.

These bitch ass niggas dont have nothing better to do than spread rumors and start shit.

  • @nthambuabc niggas? Really? Indians? grow up. I guess your the product of missionaries in Tamil Nadu.

  • Thanks. Portuguese destroyed many temples in Goa. They took revenge when a person called Thomas insulted Lord Shiva while trying to convert people. Saivites got angry and killed him. They spread rumors he was St Thomas from Jesus time. This is a hoax. That person never came to India as Vatican said. Now Christians are putting pressure on Vatican to say otherwise to convert Hindus. As a revenge Portuguese destroyed Saivite temple and built this San thome. I am glad we are waking up

  • Oh ... never new this story..

  • @vineechennai

It is true that the original Kapaleeswarar temple was on the sea shore. It was demolished by the portugese in the 14th century and a church was built on it. Now they claim that Mr Thomas arrived in exactly at 52 AD in Kerala and later to Mylapore and was killed by a Brahmin! They cannot prove it and we cannot deny it! There are no historical proof either way. So they resort to repeating a lie again and again till it becomes a truth. We must file law suite against the church.
