  • These two were not great fighters! LaMotta didn't know the concept of defense, whereas Sugar Ray hit like a girl. Can you imagine the physical carnage if the likes of a Haglar, Hearns, Duran - or even a Pacquiao or Chavez had punched LaMottas face for so long? The guys eyes and skull orbitals would have been ruined for life - career over!

Folks...stop drinking your own bathwater! Reallly...think about how well these bums would do today, and you will see just how far short they fall.

  • @minitrue101 At their time they where the greatest...whats to say that those youmentioned trianed in the 40s would be any better?

  • Comment removed

  • @atiboy1

Fan of both. Robinson was probably the p4p GOAT.Lamotta beating him once and losing by SD to robinson to me shows lamotta was one of the best fighters of all time.

  • Good lord...those clothes they're wearing...

  • I'm a huge lamotta fan along with many others but robinson isn't surpassed by many past or present boxers.

  • @ACslookin

I believe robinson p4p was the best boxer of all time followed by willie pep. The fact that lamotta gave robinson such tough fights shows how damn good lamotta was

  • THat's why Robinson was awesome. Of course Lamotta could have been better if he trained harder etc etc but that's all our excuses for why we're not the greatest at anything. Because we didn't push ourselves to be. Mike tyson would have been known as the greatest heavyweight possibly boxer but when costomato died the rabbid dog had no one to control or train him. Now look at his legacy most idiots don't even know that tyson was a body puncher with superb head movement and defense with KO pwer

  • Jake lamotta is a boxing legend..Raging bull is a great film about him aswek

  • @atiboy1 dude, watch all the fights and then talk. Jake was a better raw boxer all day. Jake could have been so much more then ray ever could. Who got knocked down in their fights? ray. ray was good, but jake has things you cant teach, you can teach foot work, you can teach combinations, you can teach agility, but you cant teach aggression, chin, power, and will. If jake didnt lead the life he did, he could have done even greater things than he did.

  • Best pound for pound: Robinson, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Jones, Jr

  • @atiboy1 They still talk about all 6, that says something too...

  • You cant say one is the best ever, obviously both of them were 2 of the greatest fighters to ever live, they both beat eachother

  • @lamotta122 Please, come on. I know your youtube screenname is lamotta but let's be real here. Robinson was undefeated as an amateur. Even LaMotta said that Ray was the best pound for pound fighter in their interviews. LaMotta famously said "that he fought Ray so many times that is is a wonder he didn't get diabetes". I really respect LaMotta but it is not even close. Ray won against multiple Hall of Famer boxers like Gavilan, Basilio, Olson, Fullmer. Graziano and Armstrong

  • I think Jake would have beat him all 3 times if he had longer arms. But he was so short, he had to walk through punches just to get to him.

  • You see, the two can make nice,,,Two greats on one show!!! Bargain..Mr.La Motta-if your out there I got a few questions to ask you, God bless...

  • Ron Jeremy should have won!

  • @ChompGa LULZ

  • sorry srr I ment bloody typos

  • also ssr stood straight making him taller against crunching fighters like la motta that's why he could have his hands low as some ppl put it making him use his jab effect

  • I believe Ray Robinson was Jake's best man in one of his many marriages. AFTER Vicky of course

  • @gvader, yes, I think on his last(for now!) marriage.

  • @kiril1 how manys that now, 3? 4?

  • @wondeboy12 ,today is 6.

  • @kiril1 My god! Jake is a true man!

  • @wondeboy12, a real bull, yes. My advice: buy his two books, you will learn much about him.

  • @kiril1 & what are thenames of these fine publications? I'll see if they are on amazon.

  • @wondeboy12, Raging Bull: My Story ; Raging Bull ; Raging Bull II: Continuing the Story of Jake LA Motta.

  • @kiril1 Thank you sir, Jake said raging bull was good, but I'd much prefer to hear it from the bulls mouth.

  • 2 legends baby that is what boxing was about

  • This is just beautiful so respectful and humble of each others gifts and misfortunes. Robinson was a good looking man.

  • look how jake slips that jab, good defense

  • These guys are legends. nothing more to say. lol

  • wonder boy your an idiot,,,, ali beat everyone put in front of him until his license was taken away in 68,,,, he came back in 70 and beat frazier (twice),,,, norton( twice),,,, a prime foreman,, jimmy young ron lyle and earnie shaver,,,,now how was ali overrated .......

  • @seanman47 If this is the case then why even comment? Only a fool councils an idiot! So that of course means every human being he fought was quility? no it doesnt. People crow about his record yet there are only a handfull of fights they mention, now why do you think this is? How is he overated? Because tyson and Ray where better & the fact his mouth was full of shit would be my opinion on the matter & why you are getting so cut over something as personal as that I'd never know...

  • @wondeboy12 Not every single fighter that was put in front of SRR was supreme quality either. You talk about how Ali was a moron, and I'm not saying that this is the only reason you think this, because he had "no guard" which I assume means no defense. Was Ali technically flawed? Sure. Does that mean he wasn't great? Absolutely not. His game was designed after SRR who also held his hands low. Maybe you should study boxing history a little more before making absurd assertions.

  • @nickroc3 This is true, but then again with 200 pro fights to his name and an unprecidented ammount of amatuer fights & the times (40's) one can expect a little varience.Your assumptions are retarded, read it carefully and if you come up with the same conclusion you shouldnt comment on shit YOU dont understand. No alis game was footwork & head movement, he also held his hands even lower the Ray. Ray held his hands where most boxers of the time had their hands. Mayby your advice is what you need.

  • @wondeboy12 the reaso they only talk about a few of his fights is because only a few were close ,, post 71, what i am saying is that in alis prime 64-68 he made all his fights look so easy , henry cooper decking him with that left hook being his only blemish ,,, ali at his best had legs as fast as his hands ( against cleveland williams earnie terrel,) put frazier in that same ring on his best day and u are left with a unanimous decision for ali no problem ,,,, now how is he overrated explain?

  • @seanman47 Oh so you decided I wan't an idiot did you? Or did you decide you where a fool?

So you are suggesting 4, 15 round fights during that period, against fighters he claimed dramatic supiriority over, while being a deadset prick of a human being is living up to the hype? the short answer there is no.

& now your relying on a hypothetical? Is your head full of dung or what? You aere one step away from comparing green lantern to batman arent you?

  • @seanman47 If this is the case then why even comment? Only a fool councils an idiot! So that of course means every human being he fought was quility? no it doesnt. People crow about his record yet there are only a handfull of fights they mention, now why do you think this is? How is he overated? Because tyson and Ray where better & the fact his mouth was full of shit would be my opinion on the matter & why you are getting so cut over something as personal as that I'd never know...

  • I cant believe dinero got his voice to a T.....This is great stuff.

  • @NukOfficial HENRY ARMSTRONG AND ARCHIE MOORE GOTA BE IN THE LIST AS WELL?

  • jake lamotta, joe frazier and muhammad ali have the best chins ever

  • Where did boxing like this go?

  • Rule #1 Nobody fucks with Lamotta

Rule #2 Exept for Ray Robinson

  • i wonder if jake lamotta can still kick my ass

  • @noszondi I'd give 5 to 1 he could kick yours and mine

  • Fight Night Champion has Ray with a rating of 96, higher than anyone else including Ali who has a 93. Robinson is the best even in video games.

  • @StreetArtillery ahahah yeah hes madd tough in that game

  • Shame that Jake has an iconic film and not Ray.

  • lool i fought robinson so many times thats why i have diabetes

  • @ChuckNorrisKratosLOL Yeah but most people go to the stock answer of ali when IMO he was little more then a shamless self promoter who had 4 stunning fights.

  • @wondeboy12 what a stupid statement ,,, ali a self promoter with FOUR STUNNING FIGHTS..... you dont follow boxing that much,,,,, ali only had competition as a heavyweight pre 71 as in past his prime... thats why he was drawn into tougher battles,,,, had ali of 68 fought frazier 71 it would have been a unanimous decision ali or tko for that matter,,, ali fought frazier in the 2 classics because he hadn leg work and foreman had the same advantage

  • @seanman47 either way I wasnt wrong asshole, he was dramatically overated deal with it.

  • @spxeli Hmmm funny how all of the above rate ray as better.......more fights, better quality of them and the man was a true gentleman and not a media whore.

Good thing you deleted your stupid comment hey?

  • @wondeboy12 No, I made a grammatical error. Re read my post. I never said Ali was the greatest fighter of all time. Now you look like an illiterate moron.

  • @spxeli You mean the one you deleted and now answerd too so I have no history of?

As YOU admitted YOU made a gramatical error & the problem is mine?

  • @wondeboy12 Yes, I made a grammatical error. The way I typed it out made sense, but I don't like typing things unless they are 100% understandable. Hence the reason you replied with an obvious misinterpretation of what I meant. What I was trying to say was that there is an obvious reason fans, analysts and fighters constantly name Muhammad Ali as one of the greatest fighters of all-time. Aside from the showmanship, Ali is on record saying Robinson is the GOAT as well as his hero.

  • @spxeli So in other words you fudged it then accused me of getting it wrong, how very adult of you.....

People often rate Aryeton senna as the best driver of all time yet I view him a looney tune who unlike most great drivers died behind the wheel while still arguably at his best, he was a foolish risk taker who beleived god was on his side.

I dont buy into what many anylists and boaderline retarded fighters say, I've fought and developed my own opinions.

  • @wondeboy12 Oh no, like I said, my original comment did make sense. Your inability to understand it baffles me actually. As for the driver, I'm not into Nascar.

Anyways you have your opinion and nobody's attacking you for it. Although when looking back at Muhammad Ali's career 30 years after he finished, people are still amazed with him as a fighter. If you don't see it, fine.

  • @spxeli Senna drove f1 retard, prehaps your narrow mind to something that isnt us based is a good reflection of your post that was missing something that completly changes the context of what your saying. You did fool, good thing you think as you act.Well thats just dandy you find footwork with no guard impressive, I find it flawed and think the man a moron for many reasons. And its a good thing you think its fine your boarderline retard opinions that rely on others opinions do noting to sway me

  • I caught La Motta giving Ray a sideways glance that seemed to suggest he was still willing to get it on.

  • @madmax8903 If he appeard in my blindsides often as he did I would probably be trying to keep an eye on him too.

  • Man the Old School guys had so much class when they did interviews. Boxing needs to be back on Network tv man, we got some classy guys like the Klitschkos, Pacquiao, Sergio Martinez, Mosley, Canelo, etc

  • @ginogeno Difference between the old and new is I'd pay to see the old fight as well as talk. Well Pac I'd pay for also

  • what a jab

    what a jab

  • These guys were great friends.

  • For the entire TV show

    watch?v=wOo3OjzR8E4&feature=related

  • Ray is arguably the greatest boxer ever.

  • @diptwares I agree

  • @diptwares i agree

  • @diptwares there's no arguin about it.

  • @MURKYDEEP100 I like that conviction!

  • @diptwares anyone is "arguably" the greatest boxer ever

  • @TheDrawingLab I stand by "arguably," it connotes my awareness of the fact that evryone wouldn't agree with me.

  • @diptwares not even true, i am so sick of people who know nothing about boxing, thinking they know something about boxing, just shut up

  • @BlinkBoyBrad I've followed boxing since the 50's,and saw many of the greats fight. I'm no expert, but I know enough about it to express an intelligent opinion without insulting anyone. Look at Ray's record and read what many of his peers have to say. The internet is where all the people who get no respect in their daily lives get to mouth off.

  • TRUE CHAMPIONS not 25 fights and they think there legends, there was no ducking people back then!!!!

  • @6suicidal6 i wonder who you are talking about....oh i know 99% of today's fighters

  • This is boxing at its finest! I would love to see fighters like this again! True sportsmanship.

  • This was the BEST showing of Stamina and Heart ever seen in the ring, and by far the best Brawler v. Boxer/Puncher rivalry. Even better than Ali-Frazier.

Both of these fighters have granite chins, LaMotta a bit tougher, Robinson hit harder. LaMotta had a hard right, and Robinson held his left low.

I could go through their skill sets and one's weaknesses is the others strength.

LaMotta wasn't fast, at least not next to SRR. But he still lands. What impeccable timing from both fighters.

  • Robinson punches like a Professional Pool Player, he never misses.

  • sugar ray the best that's ever been !

  • lamotta was actualy winng the first 12 rounds he just deiced to give up for sum reason

  • @jesssuppa lololololol. no he wasn't....

  • @jesssuppa He gave up on purpose because the gangsters told him to do so. He had no choice otherwise he would have won no problem.

  • I love this series, they always get taken off youtube though, been looking for joe louis/galento and joe louis/wallcott

  • jake has the best chin ever man..

  • @murdok620 He and Carmen Basilio run a close race

  • Don Dunphy R.I.P

One of the greatest sports announcers of all time.

They don't make 'em like that anymore either.

  • You dam right and Howard Cosell !!!!! u talk sense unlike 99 percent of the fools on here

  • In those days fighters had respect for each other. If you would putt 2 rivals in a show know you would get the typical macho bullshit.

  • Depends on pac man is very well behaved but PBF is a grade A douchebag.

  • @wondeboy12 both are nothing compared to these blokes

  • legends.

    man.

  • OK, so theres no more parts......It dont matter!!! Jake and Ray are Legends!!!!!! And thanks for puttin it up!

  • THANK YOU....thats all I need to say!

  • Very good, do you have the rest of it or is it just part 1 ?

  • I wish I had the rest but this was all I managed to find when I stumbled across it.
