  • umm its bossa nova to be more specific

  • I really like the Prequel to the Sequel "Moments"... Damn... This band is epic. My favorite band. By the way, I favorited this vid :).

  • So, in conclusion... BTBAM is the best band ever

  • there could be a top 100 for this list

  • @GNASTY575 more like 1000!!!!!!!!!

  • no need for a question mark when you say greatest solo ever in selkies

  • Comment removed

  • Also... I use a similar-sounding program called tabit to write music. Technology is nifty.

  • I like this list, 420. Selkies... amazing. Whew.

  • haha fuck I love that you put "gogol bordello?" haha I have never known how to describe that part, you put it perfectly

  • Awesome riffs, elevator music, breakdowns, more awesome riffs, circus music, beautiful solos, and best of all THE HOE DOWNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ad a dglgmut

This is missing! Purely for the name!

  • The breakdown at the end of Decade of Statues and the Prequel to the Sequel intro were the two moments that dropped my jaw in Colors

  • well done.

  • what's the song name for the intro song?

  • @youveseenthebitcher "Foam Born: The Backtrack"

  • If you make a video including TGM, the horse whinny in Disease, Injury, Madness is something you have to include.

  • @C00LMotion i like the surfer rock bit in DIM :P and i also like the harmony guitars playing the funky riff :P that moment kicks ass

  • the 1st verse of fossil genera is probably one of my favorite, but then again, prequel has to be one of btbams best piece of work.

  • prequel and swim to the moon for me..

  • The Great Misdirect probably was most disappointing to me because it didn't have as many odd moments like the hoe down or any smooth jazz/elevator music interspersed etc. It just didn't have as many surprises for me as Colors. I really hope they can make another album that good again.

Does anyone agree with me or am I alone on this one?

The Great Misdirect is just kinda boring in comparison to me...

  • @steviethellama

right now id say The Great Misdirect is their best along with Colors, dont know which one is better though, buyt probably Colors

  • @steviethellama really

Swim to the Moon was just straight mind fucking

Obfusication had a pretty epic break

DIM had the soft section, bass solo, and epic 2nd half

Mirrors is some kickass jazzy stuff

i do understand where your coming from Colors is the most interesting but The Great Misdirect is filled with some great moments

  • the odd parts in their songs actually make the cds for me hahaha

  • white walls is a far better solo than selkies

  • @Jascaentipol wait... WHAT?!

  • @sxestrid I agree. White Walls has a better solo.

  • gogol bordello greatest band that btbam has ever incorperated

  • ugh

  • may i just call to question one thing...how can this video be so short...i mean shouldn't you just post everything btbam has ever done...that would seem to be my list of best btbam moments...i couldn't possibly choose because every single song is amazing in it's own way

  • selkies is the best solo but colors is by far the best album as a whole.

  • YES - Selkies is the best solo

  • the beginning of the ants of the sky hoedown makes me think that i'm playing banjo kazooie haha

  • @THISGUYROCKS417 YOU MADE MY DAY. I LOVE THAT GAME.

  • if i would compare between the buried and me with say an actor i would say will smith for example-----will smith-every movie he comes out with is now one of the best movies around, and btbam-every song/cd they produce is like a fuckin miracle or better cuz thats what they do its either better or just plain amazing

  • @Brandon000Iron I would probably compare them with the Royal Shakespeare Company, for their sheer skill and sophistication.

  • Would anyone care to tell me what song that is that plays during the first 30 seconds of this?

  • @ctipple1981

Foam born, the first track off of Colors. I suggest you listen to it and every song that follows in one sitting!

  • @CerpinTaxt37

Cool, thanks! I'll check it out.

  • @ctipple1981 the backtrack

  • Between The buried and me is so unique with their sound its hard to catagorize their most awesome parts. Between The buried and me have no bad songs and they get better with each and every album. Pure Genius

  • @PerpetualBurnFan

You know, you just made me realize that there isn't one song by them that I instantly change when it comes on like every other band I listen to. The only thing I don't like is the shitty sound on their first cd, which is still a great cd.

  • Awesome band,

    brilliant songs,

but I have to say, the solo at the end completely outmatches it all together!

  • I'm pretty sure laser speed is a bossa nova, rather than a Jazz Instrumental

  • personally.. i prefer the last 3-4 minutes of white walls over selkies solo

  • Autodidact has one of my favorite parts in a BTBAM song ever. The whole little sequence with the keyboard and Blake's drumming is awesome.

  • 1.Selikies

    Greatest Solo?

    Yes, absolutely

  • 1. Selkies

    Greatest Solo?

    Unquestionably.

  • @Deoxysdog idk, its amazing it all, but i think mordecai AND ad a dglgmut own it since theyre both on TSC, but Alaska, Backwards Marathon, Selkies, and Lazer speed own.

Ive never heard anything musically that compares to colors, and no deathcore like the self titled, and no prog. deathcore/metalcore like TSC.

    S/t, TSC, Colors>Alaska/TGM>everything else

this IS the only metal i can listen to anymore.

everything else other than BTBAM seems so bland..

there needs to be a top 20 or 25 BTBAM moments

  • the decade of statues breakdown is great too... :D

  • what about the hidden track at the end of silent circus?

  • Im surpised there is no Shevanel Cut A Flip bar scene/jazzy riff in there...I think that is one of the craziest things I've ever heard, but the weird thing with all of these kind of odd "moments" is that they all fit perfect...btbam is incredible

  • @K3VIN552 Every time someone asks me if I'd like some water, I think back to that song.

  • @Mordeci819 hahaha, whenever Im eating at a restaurant and I hear that general noise I hum that riff in my head

  • Selkies: The Endless Obsession is without any doubt one of the best songs ever created.

  • Personally, I love the first half of the solo in Selkies just as much as(or even more than) the second half of the solo with the sweeps.

  • SELKIES

  • 3 moments from Colours, 2 from Alaska.

There's a couple moments you miss from the other albums

  • granted thats a great (understatement) solo but considering the other moments on the list i think the hidden track on silent circus shouldve been number 1

  • its called the man land for anyone who doesnt know

  • #3 is more of a latin groove than jazz.

    Just being an ass, lol.

  • @ilovemayonaise gotta admit dude i was about to say the same thing haha

  • @ilovemayonaise Salsa

  • their odd parts make them such a challenging listen...

    but, they are fucking amazing.

  • I like the odd parts the most lol

  • 5 stars for Selkies

  • Hahahahaha if I would've make this video there wouldn't be only 5... there would be 5,000 million!!

  • For selkies, its not just the greatest solo, its only the most majestic and beautiful song ever made.

  • @tr0gd0r5000 dude!, that's true.. the song before the solo is the context for the solo itself, it's the meaning, the feeling behind it.. i think that

  • @tr0gd0r5000 so is sun of nothing and ants of the sky

  • @tr0gd0r5000 i disagree swim to the moon is amazing its beyond words to just even try to describe it

  • sun of nothing reminds me of some mike patton stuff

  • @walruseater00 or tim burton lol i thought of one of his movies with that song

  • ants of the sky part is my favorite its not odd at all its sick

  • lol i love the wistling part in fossil genera

  • Colors is better on the live experience =/

  • I love that son of nothing part

  • laser speed sounds like lobby or elevator music or something like that

  • hahaha Gogol Bordello

  • i was thinking you would add foam burn 1, but other than that, simply awesome list. those are like my favorite parts of their songs.

  • hahah the next one needs some fossil genera in it

  • With the release of "The Great Misdirect", I believe that a new video is in order.

  • i know dewd i ve been lazy a second video should been made leik a yaer ago

  • Add a sixth slot and but down the Bruce Dickinson part on aspirations.

  • During the "Hoe Down" all you hear is Dusty talking. He did all the voice over during that part, he says "What da hell you lookin at over'dare" and Blake yelling "STOP, STOP!"

  • yeh dustie does a wicked southern accent. he does it at the start of one of the metalinjection interviews too. lol

  • "Hi, This is Between the Burrrd 'n Me. lmao

  • they don't have to push it that hard, being from NC and all lol

  • you forget the end of the clean interlude when tommy hits that high note..... ITS RAINING, that part is so amazing

  • Agreed!

  • i agree best btbam moment ever

    ITS RAINING

    ITS RAINING

    ITS RAAAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNNN!!!!

  • which song is that?

  • Backwards Marathon

  • backwards marathon

  • your number 1 was definitely correct, that part could not have been written any better

  • DEATH IS IN THE AIR

    Enough said.

  • Cant believe no one has said this yet, but 3:29 of More of Myself to kill is the greatest part of any betweent the buried and me songs.

  • I agree, but my favorite parts of More of Myself to Kill are 4:58-5:24 and 0:59-1:32

  • white walls

  • white walls

  • Mordecai in general was amazing, but the ending is the greatest thing ever written, along with the ending solo to Selkies. The intros to Alaska and Prequel to the Sequel- I could just listen to them all day. It's like a drug.

  • Oh god, the intro to Alaska is my crack. I love that shit.

  • white walls is just one epic song, and the ending solo is orgasmic to the ears

  • RPG MUSlC OUTRO

  • U should do another vid like this one. HOE DOWN Is music that Nazi's dance to in bars

  • COOL OUTRO 10/5

  • i looove the hoe down

  • selkies is the greatest solo.

  • maybe maybe

  • nah......mordecai

  • job well done but you should check out some of their earlier stuff off of their self titled cd. lots of weird shit on there. btw selkies is the greatest solo out there and no one can deny that after hearing it even if they cant tolerate the chaos in the first couple minutes of the song.

  • I can tolerate the whole song but White Walls, Mordecai, Ad a dglgmut?? Atleast one of those is better than Selkies...

  • I think every CD got better, and so did the songs that represent those CD's. So Mordecai was great, and it was outdone by Selkies, which was amazing, and was surpassed by White Walls which was just on another plane.

I didn't mention a song from the self titled just cause I couldnt think of what song to put for it. But the same applies.... BTBAM < Silent Circus < Alaska < Colors. (Consider that the self titled was already an incredible album in itself.)

  • YES aspirations, shevanel cut a flip and naked by the computer are the best on s/t

  • Shevanel is the shit. The little 3 second devastation breakdown always gets me. BUt yeah, its always hard to pick a "best" cause BTBAM is a band that doent write shitty songs.

  • @MaidenPriest420 idk man, Fire For a Dry Mouth has the best solo on the first album by far.

  • @MaidenPriest420 duuude more of myself to kill was epic as hell

  • Aspirations < Mordecai < Alaska < Ants of the Sky

  • if id redo it id put mordecai,ad a dglgmut the primer etc, this is when i first got into them

  • In my personal opinion, Mordecai is the best "moment" of BTBAM.

Not just the ending, the ENTIRE song xD It's freakin' awesome =') Best song ever written by any band ever.

  • Aspirations < Mordecai < Selkies < Ants Of The Sky

  • @blytle369 Fossil Genera<Selkies<Backwards Marathon<PttS

  • Idk their new album...was a bit too....idk. genre spread I guess. I mean it was less random than Colors or Circus(Alaska was pretty straight forward) but idk it had too much polka and other stuff in it.

  • white walls

  • not gogol bordello. mr. bungle lol

  • I love all those weird parts, hope they will make some more on the new Album :D

  • The moment at 3:45 in the video... gives me chills. I could listen to Selkies forever...

  • i play it on guitar everyday, it gives me a boner

  • thats what i listened to at first, still do, but he uses the sweeps in this solo so efficiently, and everything perfect, best i said greatest solo with a question mark.

  • I like petrucci better than becker and friedman but becker did do a good Vivaldi tribute

  • Cacophony is great and Jason and Marty are two of my fave guitarists but id wouldnt call any of their stuff influential to btbam

  • Last one reminds me of f-zero or gradius

  • wdf is dat?

  • a band there called

    Between The Buried And Me

  • i know but the sounds are strange...

  • it's seriously the best band I've ever heard and probably will ever hear. They're can make some weird moments but they also have written some of the heaviest and some of the most melodic guitar pieces I've ever heard.

  • i agree. best band ever. it changed my life.
