To give an idea of how deep that really is, concider th St.Louis arch.

The Arch is 630 feet tall. Divide that by 35,813 feet and you get a whopping 56.84+

Meaning you would have to have 36 Arches stacked on top of each other and only see the windows of the Arch above the surface of the water.

They rested on the bottom for maybe a few minutes then came back up. I don't remember any reports of animal species
