@Libano603 The Crawler was a single alpha drone stuck on Earth who was believed to be a monster stalking a viking bloodline. Probably a neuter since it never became a queen or praetorian yet it was implied it actually HAD been around for at least a good generation or two. But with how Stalker ends, the entirety of the events may or may not have happened in the expanded Universe. It's a family story being told by a marine of Nordic descent. (These are not true spoilers, trust me.)

We know xenomorphs use pheramones a lot for the purpose of signalling and finding prey/identifying what hive other xenos are from. But it's not really so simple because they're an alien organism, not all their organs function exactly like those of animals that evolved on EARTH. They don't have visible eyes as we know them, but we do know they're capable of seeing the same way we are with a much greater ability to navigate in even the absolute darkness of the hive.

@0a0d0o That sounds like a fan-theory... In the comics we've seen their dissected heads, no eyes at all. At least, not as we understand them. But they're also an alien species, we shouldn't expect them to conform to Earth's norms. The movies have never specified, and then the novels often outright state that they have no eyes.

The way i understand it is they use a sophisticated method of "sensing" pheromones which sends a relay back to there brain creating a picture. This makes them very effective at relocating prey and seeing through almost any kind of visual based stealth. The way i understand it they can also track any prey that has entered there hive through this same method.

With the fact Linguafoeda predates Internecivus by far, my knowledge of the sciences and how naming things really works, and the fact that Linguafoeda only occurs in the background of a special edition DVD? Hoooo boy do I side with Linguafoeda in the debate. The argument against it feels like it's just people trying to fight against ANYTHING from the comics.

Eh, the Alien continuity is a big clusterfuck in general. There isn't actually anything stating that any part of it isn't canon, most of the fandom just follows "the movies are canon and nothing else is." But yeah. Personally I refuse to follow that one simply out of the fact that once you get Resurrection and beyond involved, there's just confliction after confliction with the movies that came before them. And it just drives me nuts how so many fans just ignore it then bitch about the books.

Pets? You referring to the use of that new strain in Three World War or..? Personally, with interviews and statements that humans are going to play an absolutely miniscule role with the real war being between the aliens and the two pred factions, I'm hoping for some good old Old Order intervention. In the expanded Universe, hoooly hell do the xenos kind of come off as a species of pride. So surely the old guys would look at these dogs of war and just say "wait, WHAT!?"

everybody who i talk to about aliens and predators tend to always put the predator on top, and when they talk about aliens they tend to belittling them, completelly oblivious to its reputation for mass extinctions, so either these people are just predfans who "godify"(word check) the preds, or directors and authors been weakening the alien in favor of the predator's popularity. but if what you saying is true maybe the xenos will finally get the respect they deserve.

I love both species pretty equally myself, but yeah a lot of predator fans DO hold them as being very high and mighty. Which is weird when you consider the fact that preds with that kind of mindset tend to live very short lives... And in the AvP novels specifically, the preds respect and revere the xenos. Hell, their goddess of death, a patron deity for most clans, takes on the form of an alien queen. "The Black Warrior.' Come on now.

@thefalloutkid13 Rhinoceros, Stegosaurus, octopus, xenomorph is actually less syllables than all of these words except for octopus. It's also a lot less complicated than the first two, a lot easier to remember how to spell than the first, and oh god don't even get me started on most extinct species. XD It's not really that weird when you think about real animals and what we call them. Also, it's Latin for "foreign form," and means alien life form.

One really experienced cleaner with an arsenal of weapons and no limitations? That's a pretty hefty foe to face, even if you're talking alpha drone. But yeah... Wolf pulled sooooo many rookie mistakes that would have gotten any pred in the old AvP series ripped apart on the spot. The only way to explain requiem involves all those xenos being of a newly discovered strain with some pretty radical differences.

Eh, I'm good one way or another with the gore personally. THe first one people bitched about being not nearly gorey enough, the second people bitched about being too grotesque. There'll never be a middle ground that pleases everyone with that, but I can agree Requiem was a pretty terrible movie that actually had a number of good ideas behind it.

Velosiraptor has the idea, but really xenomorphs seem even more complex than that their their sensory organs. That big head isn't just for the inner jaw and an enormous brain, we never really got the details of everything that's inside of it. But we do know they have some keen senses that keep them incrdibly aware of their environment,

so much so that it's likely they have some form of sonar AND vision since we know they react to visual cues that something like echolocation wouldn't be able to see. And on top of that, we know they deal a lot with pheramones like many insects. So how would I explain it? Simple, they likely have some form of eyes, but not in the sense we're used to, because they aren't of Earthly origin and evolved in a completely different manner so many of their sensory organs just don't look like ours.

dunno about the tyranid but in the destructive angel's comics aliens destroyed the space jockeys and caused the extiction of about 80 % i think of the life in the galaxy due to the fact that the aliens born from the space jockeys were behemoths think if the queen is roughly the size of a tyrannosaurus an alien born from a space jockeys was probably 3 or 4 times her size.

Actually, that dragon was a pred. The pred that's corpse was found with a gaping lance wound in its chest. The Crawler was a lone neuter drone that found itself on Earth and wound up with a vendetta against the bloodline of a berserker who almost killed it.

Space jockies, biomechanoids, whatever you wanna call them... There are two versions of their tale as far as established stories go. One works with the Resurrection continuity, the other works with the pre-Resurrection continuity. Alas, the continuities CANNOT be combined because they just don't support each other. ... 1.6 billion years ago the jockies found the xenos, got in a war with them, and were whiped out by them. In the Resurrection continuity, it's a bit different and they still exist.
