i can't understand why Americans bother having elections at all if they're going to use voting machines or counting machines.

Anyone who knows anything about machines knows they can be rigged to give any desired result without anybody knowing except those who rig them.

So why not just forget about voting, enter the names of the candidates into the machines, push the button, and hey presto you have a winner.

This would save all the hassle of having to vote.
