Good point, however it is important to note that the ideologies of both parties have changed a lot over time. (Part2) some 250 Japanese residents were murdered by the Chinese troops, and this incident was being called the 'Tungchow Massacre'. In August 1937, the Japanese government formulated the peace proposal. Both the Japanese Army and Navy agreed to this peace proposal. What this proposal implied was that all the interests Japan had acquired since the Manchurian Incident should become nullified. This was indeed a drastic concession, which Japan had ever conceded.

I just want to ask a question to the ones saying the Japanese were enemy aliens. If you best friend was second-generation japanese- american? Fourth generation japanese-american? If your neighbour was so? If your boyfriend was so? Would you have just let them be taken away? People you knew very well, people you trusted, without any fact that they were evil? Good point, however it is important to note that the ideologies of both parties have changed a lot over time. A Republican today is nothing like a Republican right after the Civil War and vice versa just as a Democrat today doesn't even think the same as a Democrat from 10 years ago. In addition, every member of each party is completely different, so I'm not sure that this is a valid point.

All countries at war interned enemy aliens including Japan. Of those interned
in the U.S. 43,000 were adult enemy aliens, citizens of Japan ,the rest were their children. Among those interned
over 7500 belonged to the black dragon society or dark ocean society. These were secret japanese only societies
sworn to the emperor. They caused trouble in the camps and even murdered some japanese they thought loyal to the U.S.. Were we to let 43000

@am220uss There were 120,000 people in the Japanese internment camps. 1/2 were children. These were not enemy aliens, but U.S. citizens. There were 10 known spies found to be helping the emperor. They were all Caucasian. Does this mean we should have rounded up all the white European Americans? In reality what we did was wrong. Does this make us a bad country? no. Did we do what we thought was needed at the time? Probably. Was this just a way to appease the racist masses? Maybe.

Saying they were americans does not make it so. They were citizens of japan and therefore enemy aliens. find one
reliable source that says they were all U.S. citizens. Living in the U.S. does not make you a citizen. You could be a resident alien and if your country declares war on the U.S. you then become a enemy alien, that is the law. Or don't you believe in laws? The U.S. is a sovergin

rocky666555- first generation japanese- american is not a term that is used to identify a immagrant's legal status. They
were aliens because they were not citizens of the U.S. Most were here illeagly and came only to make money
and planned eventually return to Japan.
That is why they sent their children to japanese language schools and if they could afford it, back to Japan for schooling. Read " Nisei " by Bill Hosokawa

Well. The Naval Intelligence and FBI, among other official sources said there was no need of the mass removal of the Japanese. Hell, there were more Germans in the US supporting Hitler than there were Japanese supporting the Emperor. From what I've read.

Japanese were treated different as there was no threat of invasion from Germany. The brits had already sank or bottled up the German surface fleet before the U.S. even entered the war. There was no threat on or East coast. That is why only Japanese living in the west coast war zone were relocated. The German american nazi bund had been infiltrated and we knew which germans were dangerous. We could not infiltrate the Black dragon society as you had to be Japanese to get in.

It was not just Germany. It was Italians as well. That were against the USA. It's funny how 9 Caucasians were found helping Japan. I need to find out from my grandpa but my family lived in Hawaii, or so I think, and got re-located to Tule Lake. Plus they were Okinawan. Not Japanese. Not only that. Japanese.. not all but some were also treating many Okinawans like shit.

The Japanese did murder tens of thousands of okinawans. That is historical fact. Japan hired
caucasians to spy for them. Japanese who were caught spying were not put on trial just interned
until after the war, that is why there is no record of trials. There was no trial required for internment. Internment was preferred as the Japanese held thousands of U.S. citizens and surely would have started putting them on trial in response. I have posted previously names of Japanese caught.
