Don't waste your money buying the "official" version. Studio workings can't come close to the passion, the energy, the intensity of this live version. The live version is so powerful, nothing can come close to it, not even their peddled "official" version.

Nice job recording the ACTUAL version! There are other ones from the 2010 Olympics on YouTube, but they're the pre-recorded, 'direct-to-DVD' versions, not the real one with crowd sounds and such. kd did her own thing for the actual, non-pre-recorded version that just made it the best version I've ever heard of Leonard Cohen's song. Your recording squelches out some of the high frequencies (can hardly hear the drums/cymbals) but it's genuine. Thanks for sharing it!

I came in from work at about 3 am and turned the tv and computer on.

Just as i was sitting down to the computer she hit the first note of this song and I had to turn around and watch the whole performance.

It was as much fun to watch as listen to.

When someone is in the zone and does something so beautiful its compelling and this will be a favorite of mine for the rest of my life.

nice video by the way. I wish it was the real performance but this was very nice.

i don't think you can. i pulled this song off the actual opening ceremonies event, cleaned it up and turned it into an mp3. you can probably find an earlier recording, but not sure about this particular one...
