  • What a beautiful version of this song. I remember when Relish came out and got it on cassette.Went to the store the other day and they had a used CD of it for 99 cents. Needless to say I snapped it up. Hands down the best song on that album...haunting and beautiful.

Nice to see it interpreted w/some great Celtic musicians. Agree...criminally underappreciated artist.

  • i love this song!

  • Great version, the video of the original is a little strange for me - this is great.

  • Love Carlisle's indoor guard!! doing this song...sooo good!!!

  • @SuperMiniPerson They are very well put together.

  • is that Michael McGoldrick on the flute?

  • She has a beautiful voice, and seems to b under appreciated. She looks amazing aswell, definetly criminally underappreciated!

  • Phenomenal, organic performance, if this doesn't move you, you might not have a soul... brilliant.

  • Wow, how beautiful. American blue-eyed soul in 6/8 time done up Gaelic. But it's no gimmick; it's real music, real musicians, no audio airbrushing. Truly soulfully sung and played. Thank you so very much, tomtscotland, for posting this!

  • This is just great in all aspects. Thanks for posting.

  • I will never forget the first time I saw her. She literally stopped me in my tracks in BEST BUY. They were playing her scenes from Shadows of Motown. WOW.. I bought the CD and DVD right then!

  • are you cried? I've cried the first time where I've understood the voice, the lyrics, the music of Joan. Her wonderfull feeling as the foods. So lol Relish is like a vitaly need (show me matter theresa feeling rise in me.

Every stone a story, like a rosary) LOVE

  • truly her best version of this song... i listen to this all of the time...

  • There IS a God...

  • Can you imagine the atmosphere in that room? You'll never beat the Irish for a good auld session!! Joan Osborne has the most amazing voice, there's something so addictive about it.

  • Amazing woman and singer, amazing performance, great and very touching song! I'm a big fan of hers.

    Greetings from Romania! :)

  • Such a dark, yet weet song. When Relish came out I couldn't get it out of my head. Still can't. As another poster mentioned, Joan Osborne is criminally underappeciated. I would add that her later efforts went largely ignored and were just as good. Not a hit from the CD, but it doesn't matter. There are those that obviously love her.

  • yes relish is one of the best, deepest CD of the 1990s. the delivery is truely unique n sadly it has never replicated in popular music since then..

  • Great version.

  • This is an awesome video for a great song. Question: one of my favourite things about St. Teresa is the berimbau-based introduction. Does anyone know whether a live version exists that includes a berimbau? I'd love to see/hear it.

  • I love her...When she first came out I ran to the msic store and bought her cd only hearing the One of us song and was not disappointed. Relish is a flawless cd and she is a modern day Janis Joplin.

  • This has got to be one of the best songs ever. And Donal Lunny makes it even better.

  • Agreed!

  • Fantastic,brilliant,awesome.

    What a fusion.love it.Ta for posting.

    Take it easy all.

  • She is criminally underappreciated.

  • thanks so much for posting this! wonderful. :)

  • I can't stop watching this ...thanks for the link mum! Absolutely fantastic singer, and exceptional collection of musicians! One more time for the cheap seats at the back...

  • Joan is one of those artists that the older I get the more I appreciate.

  • Oh my God! So true!!!!!!! I had Relish on cassette when I was in fifth grade and only listened to "One of Us." Twelve years later, I finally made it to the remainder of the album...beyond compare!!!!!!!!!

  • lol i was in 5th grade when Relish came out and I got it on cassette too. my mom and i would listen to it in the car everywhere we went. 12 and a half years later and i am still a huge fan with all of her albums in my collection.
