  • I only clicked on this so see if the same guy shouts 'MASH POTATOES!'

  • the reason why his golf shaft appears so flexible is the fact that he can swing it over 125+ mph

  • What is the camera model?

  • @icetroy21 Probably a Canon 5D mkII. I don't think the 7D came out at this point yet and the image quality (particularly the vignetting and bokeh in the background). In addition, the frame rate is not super high. Nice video quality though.

  • haha look at the club

  • .33 is a camera illusion. The shaft cannot bend like that on the downswing. This has been documented several times as this question comes up quite frequently.

  • @canidrum2 you must not know a lot about golf clubs. the reason some people can strike the ball that far is because the shaft has bent backwards. when the shaft releases (energy stored when bent) it strikes the ball. this swing is actually not a very good swing, has the shaft has released BEFORE impact with the ball.

  • @HoboGamerProductions While I agree about releasing at the point of contact, the bent shaft you see is an illusion. This was shot with a DLSR that shoots video. It can't keep up with the speed of Woods's shaft. What you see at 31 seconds is actually the shaft and clubhead position miliseconds AFTER the position of his hands and mid/upper shaft. To see the same video "slant" move an iPhone quickly while shooting video. He may be releasing early but it's not really this dramatic.

  • 0:33 he has a very flexible shaft!"

  • @33 is wow

  • my home course, it looks so much cooler now I cant wait for 2016 ryder cup they built new clubhouse and redid greens and redid range

  • why have a swing change with 5 or 6 wins or how ever many he had in 2009

  • only reason he's hitting so well is cuz Stevie Williams' standing behind him. hehe jk.

  • Is his golf club really bending???

  • @iheartchoo2 Yeah, it's amazing how much the club bends when swung. If you really want to be amazed, look up "golf ball slow motion."

  • @IbeLangley Its an optical illusion!

  • @JSTARYYYY It is... but the club does bend some (not as much as this video insinuates). If you look up the golf ball one you'll see some fakes, but the real ones are crazy.

  • that rows (horizontal) of pixels are "exposed" (sampled maybe?) sequentially, from top to bottom, so that what is captured is actually later in time the lower you go in each frame. This is a neat way of taking a really high speed image without the blurring, because each line, and pixel, is exposed for only a very brief time, but unfortunately the result is distortion.

  • To all those wondering about the apparently crazy club flex, I think I can explain. There is no way the club is actually flexing that much. Look at the club-head itself; it is distorted. Even the mighty Tiger cannot make that happen. This is most likely an artifact of the way the shutter works on this camera. Notice how the bottom of the club-head is closer to the ball than the top is. Someone who knows about digital camera engineering can help me on this, but one way I can account for this is

  • 0.31 is his driver made of rubber?!?

  • 0:31 wtf

  • 0:32 ... wtf

  • He said, " and he's teed it up ".

  • when they slowmo it, he looks like a retard just staring at the ball for 10 seconds hoping it randomly goes in the hole.

  • @killerwave1234 you're a fucking retard!

  • @solocrusher You're Fucking Fat.

  • Someone explain what's happening at :33

  • @pjohnson20 Bullsh*$ happened at :33 and at other spots in the video. This is manipulated video. Unfortunately, we were duped into watching this. I thought I was going to watch something believable!

  • @brill33free That's the way a golf club shaft flexes during a swing.

  • @brill33free haha... this ain't manipulated, it's simple laws of physics!

  • @pjohnson20 When you swing a golf club the shafts are designed to warp/flex like that to provide more momentum and energy to the club head. There are different types of flex as well.

  • how can someone dislike this video...what do they expect by clicking on it...

  • @nojomen2 haters are gonna hate. Imo Tiger is a great and talented player.

  • @irapemyselfhard Try a golf club

  • @irapemyselfhard That would involve me popping across the pond on an aerojet dear boy. I have never been to America and I have no intention of ever doing so, least of all ever talk to the working classes.Your mind is a cess pit. Please clean it.

  • pause at 0:33 for an awesome picture ;D

  • Dreadful technique. No wonder this lad struggles. Notice how he completely misses the ball on his first attempt. This is probably the worst golf shot ever made.

  • 1:29 in the background, a guy is saying : ''and he's cheated...'' creepy that the accident happened couple months later!

  • @kuneckid he obviously says, "and he's teed it up" not "and he's cheated"

  • @kuneckid nah in the background the guy is saying, "yeah i'd be getting pussy too if could swing half as good as that guy" :P

  • @kuneckid Actually, what he said was "...and he's tee'd it up there"

  • @kuneckid you are such an idiot he said " and hes teed it up here" retard

  • @lukinator007 duhh we all know ! not everyone has quality speakers in this world Sir.....

  • @kuneckid lol he said "and hes teed it up" not cheated

  • now if he would just swing his driver nice and easy like that on the course

  • The ball sounds so soft off the clubface. prolly just the mic but its so nice lol

  • look at the club at 00:32

  • @rorymcilroyfan99 thats fucking sick

  • its crazy how "quick" a golf swing is. during the whole slow-mo part, YE Yang is still in his finishing pose. kinda trippy

  • yeh, if his knee holds up he will soon be at the top again and unstoppable and by far the best player to watch.

  • tiger being the best has nothing to do with the swing. he`s outside the top 10 on driving distance, accuracy and g.i.r but when his putting is hot its unstoppable.hes got the best short game by far, forget phil. he should swing as easy in this clip but instead her tries to kill the ball. i know tigers swing mechanics to a t but i cant shoots his scores so it has nothing to do with his swing.

  • @conf0Rm1 Your absolutely right, the problem is" between the ears".. and he will fix that, and the "anyone can win on any given sunday' direction the tour is going will turn into "Tiger Time" all over again.. My words you should mark!

  • @conf0Rm1 Your absolutely right, the problem is" between the ears".. and he will fix that, and the "anyone can win on any given sunday' direction the tour is going will turn into "Tiger Time" all over again.. My words you should mark!

  • Power Red. Must be a Sunday.

  • @allstaralex09

Yup, it was Sunday and I was there watching Tiger practice. Only God know that the player in white behind him turned out to be the champion, YE Yang. Not many people, especially Minnesotans, know YE Yang until that day.

  • @vietconglimdit I've been familiar with him for a couple years. Real quiet, but has a phenomenal mental state at all times. I've never seen him frustrated.

  • @allstaralex09 ....did you just come out of a coma ?

  • Conf0Rm1 did u read wat u wrote?? Amateur! Tigers a fuckin legend in the PRO ranks

  • :32 Gravity's job is finished. Just fire the hips. Blast off!!

  • @DonDotta86

you got it in one.chin raised slightly, hands far away on take away, resistance with the hips but a full shoulder turn then gravity works on hands and then hips and arms work together on the way down. its actually easy to swing this way with practice.

  • Conf0rM1 u defiantly do not hold the course record at st. Andrews. That is way to far fetched. Stop trying to impress people on YouTube, it's not real life. And by saying you hold the record you are basically saying your as good if not better than PGA pros. Hahahaha no way

  • @videogamesareforfun ..tiger woods would be pissed if you said he was as good as he is due to god given natural telent. he says himself that he is the hardest worker alive, if it all came naturally to him then why would he have to practice all day and change his swing 3 times.think about it.

  • @conf0Rm1 no natural talent?? U r ridiculous. Where r u in life

  • @siboy109

amateur championship semi final twice with no financial backing.

  • def a flex shaft lol

  • 0:50 stinger?

  • @somelikeitsnotty yep it is a stinger

  • great done, perfect video!

  • Beautiful!! Shot!!! I know Tiger used XXX shaft~ wow

  • Great video. Watch how the club snaps through the ball in slow motion

  • Most naturally gifted golfer to have ever played the game! the way he releases the club head so late here is unreal! We can only dream of a swing like this!

  • @MrFisherman86 .how can you say naturally when he`s been playing and being coached since birth.he has no natural talent.

  • @conf0Rm1 - Not sure if this comment even needs a response due to the complete stupidity of it

  • @MrFisherman86 i agree. a coach doesnt create the athlete, he molds the athletes NATURAL talent into something greater. and this is tiger's case. he has a god-given talent, no doubt

  • @MrFisherman86

you can`t respond because you know i`m right, i started playing golf at 15 and by the time i was 19 i was off +4. people called me a natural but i was practicing everyday for 4 years. i never get time now and i`m upto scratch so how can i be a natural. plus i hold the course record at st andrews with a 62 so don`t believe the commentators that say its a 63.

  • @conf0Rm1 there's not a chance in hell anyone get's from picking up a club to better than scratch in 4 years! Especially if you only begin at 15, but thats waaay off the subject. Tiger has rebuilt his swing 3 times! Take a look at his feel around the greens and touch with a putter, his imagination to see shots that other golfers dont makes him supreemly naturally gifted! thats like saying any sportsman has no talent just more time to practice that anyone else! you've just embarrased yourself

  • @MrFisherman86 yup and im a pink pretty elephant that flies around with a one legged pony

  • @MrFisherman86

you can`t believe i did that but because tiger is on every poster and every advert and when he plays he takes up all the air time on sky you believe him to be naturally gifted. the commercial, consumer driven world has done its job well on you!

  • @conf0Rm1 haha your a fruit cake mate the same as this bostonburke88; maybe you both could be friends and talk about how sh*t Tiger Woods is together, next you'll be telling the world Michael Jordon had no tallent just time to practice, or that Rafa Nadal was just rich enough to afford more tennis lessons than anyone else. Good comments boys

  • The thing that always puzzles me about watching Tiger swing is it appears at the transition that his body drops down a lot. I've been told to avoid doing that because it leads to an inconsistent bottom of the arc of the swing. What am I overlooking in his swing that makes it so consistent even with such an overt change in upper body position? Or is it as obvious as he is just that consistent in his motion?

  • look at :33 thats a lot of torque power

  • still the one of the nicest videos, too bad i really wouldve wanted to see what happened inbetween 33-34 IMPAKKK!!!

  • unreal shaft flex at impact!

  • I love tigers pre-shot routine, it's perfect and it almost depicts what is full swings going to look like....

  • Just before the guy in the background kicked his arse!

  • @plumbtwins I didn't know Tiger had an (arse).... interesting.... idiot

  • @klcballsback- Arse is a British English and Hiberno-English term or vulgarism for the buttocks, equivalent to the American English "ass"

Before you insult someone get your facts right. If you don't you may end up looking like a dumbass or dumbarse whichever you prefer! Google is a great source of information by the way.

  • Wow, it was Sunday and the champion-in-1- holes Y.E. Yang was practicing right behind Tiger. The outfits are so contrast to each other, wow!

  • Haha, 0:33 is a good representation of Tiger Woods when he finally got caught with his pants down.

  • A tip given out of context, which usually is, fucks people up even more. Let the pros do their job.

  • look at the shaft at 30 seconds it moves forward wow

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing video. Thanks for posting it.

  • Im in a golfschool now, and been there for 3 years, Have meet the cat ones and damn he swings fast! can´t swing that fast if i tryied...

  • Your mom is regular.

  • Love watching this swing in slo mo.

  • Thats some sexy stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good Lord did you see the flex in that club?

  • even with the dip in his swing he can still whoop every one

  • pause at 0:33........DAMMMMMMNNNNN...and just think..that's a flowerband diamana prolly 83-X flex.

  • @CarolinasPGApro Guess you guys aren't too familiar on how cameras record. The flex is a result of how the camera records vertically. Go watch his swing on swing vision and it will not do that.

  • I like the contrast between he & yang in the first swing...WOW!

  • I cant believe that some people think the shaft bend in 0:33 is real , and BY the WAY the Winner IS practicing behind him.

  • Flex on that shaft...Crazy.

  • wht lens are you using?

  • looks like he didn't even try to hit that. That was like 30% of his speed

  • power comes from ground up...thats with any sports...

  • looks like he's going only 50%

  • pause at 0:07 lol xD

  • 0:33 amazing.

  • if you stop it just at 0:07 seconds look at lag in club

  • @michellekwan483 near impossible considering hes swinging at like 125 mph =P just liek to point that out, but the club is a good foot or more back of his hands =)

  • i lold

  • by the way, I was standing there watching this guy film on Sunday. I watched Tiger and Vijay warm up next to each other the day before...coolest thing I have ever got to watch.

  • what flex does he use

  • @MrMad247 stiff x3

  • the shaft is extremely curved in down swing.

  • this is soo fake, that iss not tiger woods att all thats a stannd in. u must think we are dummies ?

  • @HandbagMafia wtf mate i dont think so

  • @HandbagMafia No, this is not fake, it is what happens to a shaft. Just physics. I was standing there watching this guy film. I watched tiger warm up.

  • It seems like Tiger tees the ball up much lower than other tour players. Yet he hits it so high with his driver..

  • but... it doesnt seem to matter cuz tiger swings the club so fast.

  • lil loosy goosey on that fade

  • ok. The shaft bend is a camera fault, no way a shaft can bend that much.

  • @Kingdome007 Actually, in order for the engergy to tranfer to the ball, the body MUST STOP! It is so fast it appears as if it does not. Momentum pulls you up, yet you must hit the wall in the proper sequence.

If you take the club away with your hands, you will find it difficult to stop at impact without throwing the club.

    Believe your eyes. 0:33

  • EPIC @ :34...

  • look at that shaft flex!!

  • 0:33 is photoshopped.

  • @bwlee24fsu :) Good theory but wrong. Just DSLR video camera artefacts unfortunately.

  • @iseekgolf the club could be bending that much no? certainly the other frames show similar bending that seem to be in agreement with the expected bending of the club due to acceleration of the club head. But obviously that frame at :33 would mean tiger's timing was way off.

  • @iseekgolf :33 is not real is it?

  • @JAKEHARRIS281 Its just a product of the club moving faster than the camera is able to film. Its reading the club in all the different positions from where the handle is to where the clubhead is and because it can't show them all, you get an optical illusion.

  • @JAKEHARRIS281

    it is real

idk how to explain it but according to physics, on the downswing, as you rotate the club around, the staff is going to be ahead of your hands. on the upswing and the beginning of the downswing the club face will lag behind your hands. try it with a very bendy driver as you downswing instead of following through just stop at the rotation point kinda where 0:33 shows and watch the face of the club go forward in front of ur hand position. same effect with a fast downswing

  • @bwlee24fsu No it's not, that is actually what happens with the golf shaft when that much force is applied to it. Its physics not photo shopped.

  • Comment removed

  • @bwlee24fsu you can see it 1:10 as well

  • @beardown2489 You're absolutely right sir. That is a tremendous amount of torque that Tiger is generating to flex the shaft like that. ALL the long hitters do it.......

  • @bwlee24fsu you can see the frame on the normal swing

  • @bwlee24fsu yeah you're completely wrong you can see that same thing in bunch of other slo-mos too

  • @danee6281 Oops.

  • @bwlee24fsu idiot , the shaft is regular

  • @michal9339 who are you calling an idiot? my avg swing speed is anywhere from 115mph-120mph while swinging a driver and i use a stiff shaft. theres absolutely no way tiger uses a reg shaft.

  • @western91 tiger definitely swings like he uses an x-flex. hell, even couples uses an x-flex and it looks like he's just waving at the ball.

  • how is photoshopped u dumb fuck

  • i see some flaws but still a great swing lol

  • Golf is 90% mental. He will regain his winning form again, probably not this year but next year he'll have a big year. Adversity is a great thing. Big ups Eldridge, they'll love you again. Check out my swing, its improved since then but this ones not bad. Thanks and please comment.

  • I would much rather have a 380cc driver like him and anthony kim have than the 460. Each Golf company should at least provide one driver under 410cc.

  • What happens to his club at 0:33 and 1:12? The club face is way in front of the shaft. Or is it because of video lag, capturing the image top down? If it's real, it's amazing that he can control it.

  • @rschotman That's what happens when you swing a club...His club head speed is around 120mph (+ or minus a few) and the club flexes because of that....If you put any golfers swing in slow motion you'd see the flex in the club. That's why they make variable shaft stifness ie regular, stiff, ect. The golf ball gets smashed in half as well.

  • Thank you.

why would 66 assholed thumb down this video? It's so helpful, with slow motion and different angles. You people are just jealous.

Golf is becoming my new addiction....

  • @wisesakura

You got that right. There are lot of jealous assholed out there that mind too much about others' business. The slow motion of the grip coming down first at 1:52 and the release at 1:53 is the most important part that most of us struggle with. I have not master it fully yet even at a 7 handicap. Thank you for the video Iseekgoof, I live in MN and was there that day but could not get a good record of Tiger's practice.

  • pause at 0:33

  • That is awesome!

  • is that shaft flex for real??

  • @Rand0mRadi0 he needs a XX STIFF

  • Is this really happening right before impact to the shaft?

  • I would like to thank everyone who took their time to help broden my Golf knowledge. Well, I guess it was more of a physics lesson but I would like to thank all who have posted and helped. Golf fans are the brightest, and I truly believe that !!! :-) From catching Stadler using a towel to Michelle Wie advancing her ball with a drop. Thank you very much.

  • If you notice the flags whipping around, you can tell that tiger is practicing lower shots into the wind...

  • view my videos and please give any tipss you can about my golf swing

i am a good player and im looking for fine detail:) thankss

  • 0:33 :)

  • look at that lag!

  • @therounder1980 thats not true= sure tiger has good shouilder turn but back then he had good shoulder turn and the fastest hip turn increasing his tension like no has before his arms just snap down straight to the ball, these days he has no hips turn its just all arms

  • @helenathena No your wrong yes Tiger has fast hips. But with out his huge coil he wouldn't have that tension he needs to turn his hips so fast. Jack N. always said the hips will follow with a great coil without it no matter how fast your hips are no power.

  • It obviously is true that full speed has to be before impact and not after (like Dalton Macrary states) if that shaft is to be believed before impact. He has already released the club as he doesn't turn right hand after impact, it's already been fully released??? Any thoughts??

  • If you watch the slow motion, when the club is on the down swing and about knee high it does something very strange. It actually flex's the the other way and this is something I don't see or rarely with other tour players. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this would cause an inconsistent ball flight, not to mention a loss of club head speed at impact because all of the centrifugal force that's loaded at the top has uncoiled. Could someone contest this or enlighten me why this is happening?
