@nomilkforsanta There doesn't need to be scientific research. Common sense will tell you that how most people run isn't natural. The leg is one giant spring and most people treat it like a giant weight. People who walk and run barefoot notice a SIGNIFICANT decrease in ankle/knee/hip pain.
There is no science journal that says shoes or lack their of effects lower body injuries.
Harvard is doing tests right now to see if there any, however, they say there is scientific proof yet. (read the journal of nature january 2010)
