NEWS FLASH!according to wikapedia they are going to have a new series in 2009 folowing the conclusion to battle for the cowl. It is going to be called batman and robin. Except....the robin is going to be the dark, brooding one and the batman is going to be cheerfulish one O.o

in conclusion I think the robin is going to be damian mabey...but the bat...well...no idea but I am almost positive according to that info it won't be dick cuz he is too obvious #2he isn' t cheery

I THINK Battle for the Cowl IS DESTROYING THE BATMAN CHARACTER BECAUESE THE TRUE BATMAN (WAYNE) IS MORE THAN A GUY WITH BATSUIT WITH GADGET AND KNOWS MARTIAL ARTS. Winnick actually made Jason Todd palatable. Winnick is hit or miss for me but he handled that well, I thought. Under the Hood: Good read.

My theory after the dust clears:

Batman-Dick Grayson

Robin-Damien (not very theoretical)

Red Robin-Tim Drake, searching hither and yon for Bruce Wayne.

But I do notice the problem with Tim and Damien, their rivals so it might not work. But personally Dick Grayson is a bit...hesistant about taking up the cowl.

From previews out there now, the new Batman appears to be Dick, Damian is Robin, and Red Robin from early photos looks too built to be Tim, so I'm taking it that's Jason, which leaves us to wonder what happens to Tim?

Well it's been said Jason becomes Red Robin. And Tim does seem to be getting the short end of the stick here. It's be intresting if maybe he took over the outsiders from Alfred. Or just became a new hero all together (like Dick did) and maybe get his own new book.

Detective Comics is going to star Batwoman not Batman, so you only need Batman and Batman and Robin to have Batman books, but if Tim Drake is the new Red Robin, i'd get that one, as it will have the darker moodier edge that Tim Drake carries.

I would suggest Batman and Robin and Red Robin. The only other option is Sirens, starring Catwoman, Poisson Ivy and Harley Quin...

Superman/Batman is also a good read, if you don't mind something out of continuity.

See I think Dick is the obvious choice. But the wrong one. Dick's whole thing since he became Nightwing is to get out of Bruce's shadow. Becoming Batman is just throwing himself into the shadow he's worked so hard to get away from.

but that is what makes it interesting... because he has tried so hard to be out of Batman's shadow but the shadow is now empty and there is no one else that could be Batman but he knows in his heart that he is the only one that comes close... I think he will simply hate being Batman.... but then Bruce always hated his life... that is why I think that Dick can make a great Batman

Lol. Well Damian is going to be Robin so Robin will be the bad ass. I kind of think it's intresting to reverse the roles of Batman and Robin. And we know it's not perminent. So I'm ok with it. And Grant said he viewed his work on Batman as a 5 volume story. Batman and son is 1, Black glove is 2, RIP is 3, this new Batman and Robin series is 4, and I'm assuming the return of Batman will be 5.

I'm relaly intrested to see what happens.

i would really love the idea of showing a more lighthearted version of batman who issue after issue will become more and more menacing, depressed and violent, showing that there is in a fact some kind of "curse" on the dark knight. i'm really looking forwardto this, too bad that it will take easily a year until battle of the cowl will start here, we have just begun with r.i.p. so chances are that i will get the trade of this.
