I just bought my viper and was interested to see your video. I was not impressed with Summit's directions!!!! Still your video left unanswered how to put together the two pieces as a pack and using the strap to hold it together. The pad gets in the way too. Also, I find the pad in the way when climbing and I want to see the bottom stand as it moves up. Finally, how do you do it in the dark!!! that is the question. I had to go out and practice on a few trees to work out some "kinks". Thanks
I have a piece of 550 cord about 18 inches long tied to the haul loop on my pack. I wrap it around the uppermost (as it is carried) cross member of the stand and tie it with two half hitches. I then use the strap (that is normally used to secure the top half of the stand to a tree) and strap the pack down so it doesn't flop around when I'm walking. I also use the 550 cord on my pack to tie it to my stand when I'm up in the tree.
I'm looking at getting one but in North Dakota, tree's are very very rarely straight up and down, and if they are normally they have a ton of branches on them.
All that talk about procedures makes you sound like a navy missile tech?

Im confused at what the intention of the strap at 1:30 is? and where did you get this strap from?

@jkx04 That's the strap that came with the climber to hold them together when you have it configured to be a backpack.

Good vid man! I like how you execute mounting and dismounting, I've had my summit for 5 years now and it's the best climber I have ever owned!!!!

Try a "huntin hoist" instead of rope....best add-on ever.

@TheDuckaholic - I know this 10month old, but I usually bungee cord my pack into the stand for transport into my hunting location.
