Dear JMU people,

I'm very flattered that you think you are special simply because we poked fun at your school/band in our little show.

This may be hard for you to comprehend, but scramble bands are supposed to make jokes about the opposing school. We would have made fun of you even if you didn't have alumni that are ridiculously obsessed with your marching band.

what made me mad wasn't the jokes, but the fact that you don't have the talent to back up your talk. and we don't think we're special cuz we were in your crappy show, we think we're special cuz we actually sound good... something your "quality over quantity" band should look into trying to do. just a bit of criticism there for you. although you guys were better than the univ. of richmond band (who are worse than monkeys in many respects)

Hey cool, criticism. Again though, the problem here is you can't take the stuff we say seriously! Everyone repeat after me: it's a joke. It's a joke. It's a joke. There, feel better?

By the way, we know the JMU band sounds good. So does everyone else. Making fun of the JMU band wouldn't be funny if the JMU band sucked! That's why the joke works... it gave the home crowd a laugh and struck a nerve with the away crowd, which is what it was intended to do.

PS. Cool, we've never seen the UR band... we go to our away game there every 2 years with a full band (what you at JMU would call a tiny band) and they bring... a canned recording of their fight song. Once they accidentally played the tape of the national anthem when they were trying to cue the fight song XD.

typical dirty richmond... oh so very typical. can you believe they started chanting "safety school" to us when we went there? as if richmond is so prestigious. and i understand the joke. i'm just trying to let you know where we're coming from in our criticism of it, which you clearly know so whatever... the topic is dead in my opinion
