EVERYONE! you can make a server without hamachi or portforwarding, just download the port map application, after you have extracted it, run it.

when you see the window, press the + button and a new window will appear.

in local port write 25565,

in description just write minecraft or whatever, and in the Refrence string write youre ip, and press add mapping, run youre server and everyone should be able to join without hamachi.

Guys, here's what I did because I was all in the same predicament too.

1. I downloaded the .jar file from Minecraft

2. Opened up Terminal and pasted the command java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar (WITH A SPACE AT THE END)

3. Drag the .jar file from the finder to your desktop into a new folder

4. then drag that to the Terminal console

5. Press enter ( a bunch of new files should have been added to the folder you have the .jar file in

6. Open up the 'server properties' file under TextEdit
