The "officers" have no authority to search you or your car without probable cause. You can refuse their search and you can also refuse to answer their question. You are not required to show them ID nor tell them your destination or origination. Check points in the middle of the USA. Germany had check points as well. Those were run by NAZI's. Know your rights and use them or you will loose them.

Of what probable cause did they have to search your vehicle? Where was the search warrant? They have to have a search warrant to legally be able to search your vehicle, unless you naively gave them permission to do so. If so that is a very, very dangerous thing to do as it is not uncommon for less than honest officers to *plant drugs* in your vehicle and then arrest *you*! I personally have known of officers that do exactly this!

They simply need your permission, or they can run a canine sniff on the exterior part of the car.(Once again, they need no suspicion to do that.)
