They didn't listen to me- against my will they gave me 600mg seroquel xr for first time. In an hour i felt like dying and next day like zombie. After 1 month they said i'm not mentaly ill so i can go home. No excuses. Just 10kg extra weight and sleepless nights( before i couldn't imagine of both)... Couple weeks ago i've heard they took it out of dutch med market because in long term is fucking dangerous. That's how the system works in helland.
im on 800 mg of it and still need to take klonopin to sleep. otherwise i absolutly hate this shit. look up the black box warning for seroquel.. its quite interesting

Seroquel is torture? Benzodiazipines is torture and btw, low doses of seroquel works wonders and is helping my mom from chronic insomnia, it works as long it's not abused

I've been seeing motion blur after taking that medication. I combined 200mg of Seroquel with 10mg of Abilify and that shit fucked me up. Ha ha those aren't good medications lol.

After I was institutionalized briefly at age 15, i was found to be schizoaffective (bipolar mixed type) and social phobia. My life was a nightmare, like Black Swan or something. I am on Seroquel 800mg, depakote 1000mg, zoloft 150mg, and 1mg congentin. I was put on risperadal, zyprexa, abilify, and klonopin at various points. My depressions and manias have toned down a lot! my mind is clearer and i no longer am crippled with fear, rage, unstable obsessions, or self harm. Seroquel is right for me.

I have bpd and autism. When I do fall asleep I have horrid nightmares and I sleepwalk. I'm zombified.
seroquel has helped me in so many ways. but they increasted my doseage yesterday i'm up to 500 mg a day. i am now going through that period again were i feel loopy but i know it will get better. anyway it makes me feel good that i am not the only person in the who is on this stuff!!!
i get super hungry from seroquel... and food tastes better... im gonna get fat ^^ im a little under weight now so it doesnt hurt.. i also get dizzy and tired.

When i was on quetiapin it made me tired at the start. On my hardest times i took 1200mg a day and it was really good. It is way better than olanzapin which is pure shit and torture for the soul...

I take 400 mg a day and I barely notice it (200 in the morning 200 in the evening) but seroquel isn't really designed to be a short acting drug, it only works well if you take it for at least 3 weeks, I take it for bi-polar, and it really works for me. It can also be used to augment anti-depressants. I take the XR (extended release) it works the best, but if you're looking for a high XR won't be any good

I'm on 1000mg/day -- up from 25mg/P.R.N., after a drug/alcohol induced psychosis/delirium, and sent to a psych ward. Was diagnosed bi-polar, severe OCD, Side effects I reported having are lethargy/fatigue (big one, obviously), weakness, problems seeing, weight loss, loss of ambition, high suicidal tendencies, I become very irratable. I mean, clearly this drug isn't for me, and after six months you'd thimk a Doctor would possess a fucking brain and try, you know... perhaps another drug.

Seroquel is a very strong sedative. Talk to your doctor. if you don't have a history of psychosis and you are not psychotic, you definitely don't NeeD to take this medication. The most recommended medication that treats anxiety is the one that works for you. You have to communicate with your psychiatrist ,and for God's sake ( or who or whatever you think created this world) Don't visit a psychiatrist without visiting a therapist regularly.
@babak462 excellent advice. I think too many people are being prescribed and taking this major tranquilizer for trivial reason. Not that severe insomnia is trivial, but this shouldn't be taken if someone is not psychotic
i was arrested and committed to a hospital because i have 2 spinal injuries and can't get any treatment for the severe pain, they gave me 500 mg to put me in a chemical straight jacket and shut me up, so people won't find out how corrupt the canadian medical system, and workers compensation really is; I basically had to play there game to get out of the centre, and walla, 100 doctors later, my 2nd spinal injury was finally diagnosed,,but of course workers compensation has again denied treatment
Seroquel is an antipsychotic. It only helps with bipolar because it flattens your moods and makes you pretty much unable to feel much of anything.
You might wanna check these drugs. You've been lied to about the efficacy and what they do. Antipsychotics cause brain damage. They produce a chemical lobotomy. If you do wanna come off them however, slowly taper down and do it carefully.
Check your diet. Do exercise. Try therapy. These are FAR more effective than these brain damaging drugs.

Also while I am at work I cut the pill in half and take 100 MG two times during my shift. If I take 200 mg at once I am non-responsive for about 1 hour or 2 and usually fall asleep.
i take 850mg of seroquel a day for my schizoaffective disorder. the only side effects i've ever had is weight gain and a stiff neck. it doesn't make me drowsy at all, infact i often can't sleep.
I Just started Seroquel XR Yesterday, 50 MG For the 1st 2 days then up to 150 MG. I Was on Abilify before but i was getting very bad insomnia and Abilify was way to activating i couldn't sleep for more than 1-2 hours. Seroquel Helps me sleep GREATLY. :D
It actually is a pity that peolpe are set on chemicals that are supposed to increase their life quality and decrease the negative effects of their so-called mental diseases even though the side effects are in a way unpredictable and may be enormous. It´s true that such drugs help many people cope with their abnormalities but especially this described dizziness caused by seroquel can even increase a depression. That´s the reason for me to not take it any more. I hope you´ll all do fine anyway.

I just found that I am bi-polar a year ago..Right now I am in my hypomanic stage and dont want to go into a manic stage and I am going to call the Dr tomorrow and make a apiontment and see if the will raise the dose up.. Im 20 years old and have been on 600 mg's of seroquel a day and I hate it but its the only drug that i can fall asleep on. Im bipolar but also have insomnia.... I dont like the weight gain from it and when I take it I get restless legs which sometimes can seem unbearable, also taking seroquel gives people a higher risk of developing diabetes and weight gain. :( hopefully I will find what drugs better suite me.

I take 800mg a day plus 4mg klopin 300mg zoloft I am bipolar and scyso . I was ok until my operation in 2000 for lower back s123 went bad died in serjery brought back then 7 days in critical care. I was in the NAVY 7 years on Subs no problems got out full honarable discharge then went to work NCR rear ended 55mph then the serjery. I have tried at least 7 different meds until he got it right .

I use seroquel and it cured my paranoid shizoprenia overnight the only major side effect was i put on 4 stone in 2 weeks plus it makes u tired but ive been taking it for 8 years now so i got used to it. One thing that happens to me that about 1 in4 times of taking it is that it makes me mildly trip out told my doctors about it and they did not belive me . Last thing I will say that I am from England and we have had free health care fore 60 years so my medication costs me nothing.
25 mgs would be enough for ANYONE! 50 at the absolute most! I break my 200mg seroquel in 8ths making 25mgs. Lower you dosage behind your docs back,,, Docs are not always correct.

There are side-effects when you overdo anything. Even food contains drugs or chemicals. Too much of a certain food or foods containing cholestrol leads to strokes etc....

Seroquel is a great med...I been on 200mgs day (at night) and i do sleep alot but i sorta have a life now. It does take months for the side effects to go away. My best advice is to stay on it till it has time to work. And keep trying new meds till u find one that works for you.

But one night i overdosed on seroquel and took over 900mg and that was the strangest night of my life. But it really had no side effects the next day/week

How can you function on 600mg/day. Thats enough to tranquilize an elephant. Im on 75/mg a day, but on the really bad days I take 150mg. On 150 I feel like im sleepwalking.

Seroquel kicks my ass. It's like you'll sleep for 14 hours and have a hangover all day and your head keeps dropping like you have narcilepsy. It really does help with agitated states and extreme anxiety, but the sedation and weight gain really suck.
I guess it's still better side-effect-wise than Zyprexa or possibly Risperdal. I just can't hang in there long enough to build up a tolerance I guess.
Just keep taking it.. the reason why your dosage needs to be improved is because the drug needs to work, so when 500mg doesnt work then up you go.. Im on 1200mg of Seroquel and might increase to 1400...
What you should be aware of is that if you just stop taking it you will prolly get nausea and most certainly you'll do your self a world of pain... Take it before you have to sleep ;)
True. True. Alot of people seem to think that, Anti-Psychotics/Mood stabilisers/anti-depressants, are magic pills that suddenly make you better - like getting high. When they usually take over a week or 2 to start actually taking effect. And also thinking they can just suddenly stop taking them, which can be very, very unwise. People, you must work with you doctor to find which medication is best for you.
Dont take that take high doses of OMEGA 3!!!!!!!!almost cured my buddy i swear to god man!Take omega 3 but the fish oil capsules at any drug store,especially if your younger like you.
I used to take Seroquel for a year & Cymbalta for Depression & Anxiety. They worked quite well, but they made me like a Zombie, all sleepy, SLOW & drooling. Cymbalta made me nauseous & messed up my stomach.
My psychiatrist now changed them for Abilify & Bupropion. They don't make me a zombie, but do make me very angry & grumpy sometimes. But I prefer them better because I'm not like a Zombie on them. I also take 7 other medicines that may be interacting though like Methadone for chronic pain.

I take 400 mg a day and I barely notice it (200 in the morning 200 in the evening) but seroquel isn't really designed to be a short acting drug, it only works well if you take it for at least 3 weeks, I take it for bi-polar, and it really works for me. It can also be used to augment anti-depressants. I take the XR (extended release) it works the best, but if you're looking for a high XR won't be any good

I'm on 1000mg/day -- up from 25mg/P.R.N., after a drug/alcohol induced psychosis/delirium, and sent to a psych ward. Was diagnosed bi-polar, severe OCD, Side effects I reported having are lethargy/fatigue (big one, obviously), weakness, problems seeing, weight loss, loss of ambition, high suicidal tendencies, I become very irratable. I mean, clearly this drug isn't for me, and after six months you'd thimk a Doctor would possess a fucking brain and try, you know... perhaps another drug.

Seroquel is a very strong sedative. Talk to your doctor. if you don't have a history of psychosis and you are not psychotic, you definitely don't NeeD to take this medication. The most recommended medication that treats anxiety is the one that works for you. You have to communicate with your psychiatrist ,and for God's sake ( or who or whatever you think created this world) Don't visit a psychiatrist without visiting a therapist regularly.

i was arrested and committed to a hospital because i have 2 spinal injuries and can't get any treatment for the severe pain, they gave me 500 mg to put me in a chemical straight jacket and shut me up, so people won't find out how corrupt the canadian medical system, and workers compensation really is; I basically had to play there game to get out of the centre, and walla, 100 doctors later, my 2nd spinal injury was finally diagnosed,,but of course workers compensation has again denied treatment

Seroquel is an antipsychotic. It only helps with bipolar because it flattens your moods and makes you pretty much unable to feel much of anything.
You might wanna check these drugs. You've been lied to about the efficacy and what they do. Antipsychotics cause brain damage. They produce a chemical lobotomy. If you do wanna come off them however, slowly taper down and do it carefully.
Check your diet. Do exercise. Try therapy. These are FAR more effective than these brain damaging drugs.

Also while I am at work I cut the pill in half and take 100 MG two times during my shift. If I take 200 mg at once I am non-responsive for about 1 hour or 2 and usually fall asleep.

i take 850mg of seroquel a day for my schizoaffective disorder. the only side effects i've ever had is weight gain and a stiff neck. it doesn't make me drowsy at all, infact i often can't sleep.

I Just started Seroquel XR Yesterday, 50 MG For the 1st 2 days then up to 150 MG. I Was on Abilify before but i was getting very bad insomnia and Abilify was way to activating i couldn't sleep for more than 1-2 hours. Seroquel Helps me sleep GREATLY. :D

It actually is a pity that peolpe are set on chemicals that are supposed to increase their life quality and decrease the negative effects of their so-called mental diseases even though the side effects are in a way unpredictable and may be enormous. It´s true that such drugs help many people cope with their abnormalities but especially this described dizziness caused by seroquel can even increase a depression. That´s the reason for me to not take it any more. I hope you´ll all do fine anyway.

I just found that I am bi-polar a year ago..Right now I am in my hypomanic stage and dont want to go into a manic stage and I am going to call the Dr tomorrow and make a apiontment and see if the will raise the dose up.. Im 20 years old and have been on 600 mg's of seroquel a day and I hate it but its the only drug that i can fall asleep on. Im bipolar but also have insomnia.... I dont like the weight gain from it and when I take it I get restless legs which sometimes can seem unbearable, also taking seroquel gives people a higher risk of developing diabetes and weight gain. :( hopefully I will find what drugs better suite me.

i'm on it, i take 300mg and it boosts my mood tremdously, and it prevents me from sleep walking and talking in my sleep
although pretty much 95% of the time, it makes me extremely drowsy and i sleep maybe 10 to 12 hours
thank god for it because i was in a bad place before seroquel

I take 800mg a day plus 4mg klopin 300mg zoloft I am bipolar and scyso . I was ok until my operation in 2000 for lower back s123 went bad died in serjery brought back then 7 days in critical care. I was in the NAVY 7 years on Subs no problems got out full honarable discharge then went to work NCR rear ended 55mph then the serjery. I have tried at least 7 different meds until he got it right .
I do not like the XR I can not sleep when I take it must take 400mg at night 8 pm then sleep til 1p

I've been taking seroquel for a year and a half. I started taking because I was diagnosed with bipolar but come to find out I wasn't bipolar just abusing adderal, Xanax and alcohol. No surprise there on the false diagnosis :-). Seriously though it helps me, I have been taking 50mg at night and anymore and I'm a zombie in the morning. I'm surprised my dosage has actually had to be lowered because I've had a high tolerance to every other drug I've ever had

I take seroquel XR and my dosage is 600mg a day.I was started out on 200mg a day and built up to 600 which I was told was the minimum amount I could take.The bottle says 400mg a day,but others say it is less.My meds make me worse I think.But that is just me.My meds make me sick all the time and cloud my judgment.

I use seroquel and it cured my paranoid shizoprenia overnight the only major side effect was i put on 4 stone in 2 weeks plus it makes u tired but ive been taking it for 8 years now so i got used to it. One thing that happens to me that about 1 in4 times of taking it is that it makes me mildly trip out told my doctors about it and they did not belive me . Last thing I will say that I am from England and we have had free health care fore 60 years so my medication costs me nothing.

i used to take seroquel 200mg it makes me feel like shit and diizy and tired all day when i quit it sometimes i feel like the old me full of energy and normal when i dont take it i asked my dr to quit it he said i cant quit it cold turkey i have to quit it gradually and work out and do alot of sports right now im taking the lowest dose of seroquel and i hope i can can this peace of shit midicine and get back 2 my normal life

Seroquel is a great med...I been on 200mgs day (at night) and i do sleep alot but i sorta have a life now. It does take months for the side effects to go away. My best advice is to stay on it till it has time to work. And keep trying new meds till u find one that works for you.

Im 14 and iv been takin it for 2 years and i started up at 75mg and now im up to 275mg . Im taking seroquel for my chronic depression and i had a psycotic episode and my other mental ilnesses. I take trazadone and i hate it. I also take ativan and zoloft. And ativan and seroquel are my favs!
But one night i overdosed on seroquel and took over 900mg and that was the strangest night of my life. But it really had no side effects the next day/week

At first they wanted me on 300 mg but then they doubled it and it's kinda weird that they would do that because I'm only 15 and I haven't been diagnosed with anything it's just mostly to control highs and lows and help with my hallucinations an paranoia... But now I'm on 600 mg that I take at night and yea I totally know what you mean when you say you feel dizzy... It's really bad for me where I feel sick to my stomach and can hardly walk...

Seroquel kicks my ass. It's like you'll sleep for 14 hours and have a hangover all day and your head keeps dropping like you have narcilepsy. It really does help with agitated states and extreme anxiety, but the sedation and weight gain really suck.
I guess it's still better side-effect-wise than Zyprexa or possibly Risperdal. I just can't hang in there long enough to build up a tolerance I guess.

Just keep taking it.. the reason why your dosage needs to be improved is because the drug needs to work, so when 500mg doesnt work then up you go.. Im on 1200mg of Seroquel and might increase to 1400...
What you should be aware of is that if you just stop taking it you will prolly get nausea and most certainly you'll do your self a world of pain... Take it before you have to sleep ;)

True. True. Alot of people seem to think that, Anti-Psychotics/Mood stabilisers/anti-depressants, are magic pills that suddenly make you better - like getting high. When they usually take over a week or 2 to start actually taking effect. And also thinking they can just suddenly stop taking them, which can be very, very unwise. People, you must work with you doctor to find which medication is best for you.

I used to take Seroquel for a year & Cymbalta for Depression & Anxiety. They worked quite well, but they made me like a Zombie, all sleepy, SLOW & drooling. Cymbalta made me nauseous & messed up my stomach.
My psychiatrist now changed them for Abilify & Bupropion. They don't make me a zombie, but do make me very angry & grumpy sometimes. But I prefer them better because I'm not like a Zombie on them. I also take 7 other medicines that may be interacting though like Methadone for chronic pain.
