Indonesia has many cultures and all cultures from Indonesia was strongly influenced by chinese, India, European and the Middle East. Jakarta (Betawi) culture has a strong influence from Chinese, Portuguese, Arabic, and Spainish. We are proud of the culture of Indonesia which is very unusual.

Why are the temples in Indonesia in better condition than the temples in the mainland? Is there differences in the geography/climate that cause the mainland temples to be is worse shape.
@roxyosox122 I do not see temples on the mainland is worse than in Indonesia, it's all because of the temple in Indonesia is the symbol of the history of civilization, therefore, the Indonesian government in cooperation with UNESCO to pay no less for the treatment, whereas in the Indochina (mainland) temple looks ordinary because the local people consider it normal or the temple for them is common, so it was not because of climate, because both the mainland and the islands has the same climate..

I wonder why the connection in language between Malayu and Polynesian languages. Polynesia has ancient temples and stone images from New Zealand to Hawaii, but resemble southeast asia little. I believe there is a connection but it goes back further in time, perhaps 1700 years.

Hi lagodaxnian! I think things are getting much better now. I sure hope so. We hear much less now... altogether too little. I think Indonesia has wonderful talent in art and music. America is missing out by not connecting with Indonesia. I certainly hope to visit some day!

if you study history well then you will know that actually Malaysia and Indonesia are siblings..
by the way... Indochina mean India-China, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia are considered as Indochina (definitely there is alot of mixed culture from India and China.. must add more arab and and also european)
the way we dress know more to european.. Indonesia more to Dutch, Malaysia, Singapore more to english because of historical reason.. religion and faith also so many.

I never denying indonesia and malaysia are siblings..and i think all Indonesian knows too..this video want to show how related Indonesia with some Indochina countries..I agree with terms "Indochina means India-china"..but i do not agree if malaysia and Indonesia are including as Indochina,we know Indonesia,malaysia and philippines known as Malay archipelago..Indonesia may be once considered as Indochina cause buddhism and hinduism culture came from India..and our ancient temple proof it..

@lagodaxnian indonesia and malaysia is nowhere near china! the culture might be influence by china and india but geographically it ain't! Indo-Chian only includes cambodia, laos, vietnam, some parts of thailand not southern thailand! and burma!

but after islamism take over Indonesia,i think indonesia not anymore considered as indochina..the true countries considered as Indochina are Vietnam(they cultures is combination between Buddhism from India and Confucianism from China mainland),Laos,Cambodia,Thailand and Burma..while malaysia and indonesia has a lot of influence from arabic and muslim cultures..especailly in malaysia cultures,i think and philippines has a lot influence from catholism and spanish cultures..

malaysia's culture has always been underdeveloped. you guys seems to have this inherent lack in developing something that is genuinely yours. there's no remains of temples, no deep development of the arts and so forth. even today, you can only buy yourself 'culture'. its pretty sad.

I wonder why the connection in language between Malayu and Polynesian languages. Polynesia has ancient temples and stone images from New Zealand to Hawaii, but resemble southeast asia little. I believe there is a connection but it goes back further in time, perhaps 1700 years.

malays and polynesian came from the same austronesian stock; same language and lots of similarities in basic cultures. we all came from southern china once.

mmmmh i think ur wrong it shud be java is java and cambodia is cmbodia. of course u kno the largest temple complex of borobudur(budha) and prambanan (hindu) indonesia's main religion was hinduism and budhism before the arabs trader came :) have you ever heard srivijaya(an empire located in palembang-sumatera) or the so called nusantara a region which comprise all malayan region (indo,mal,brunei,phil,south thai and burma) the creature is the great empire of majapahit(located in java) thanks.

there's only two temple from Srivijaya empire in this video.they are Muara Takus temple which located in Riau province and Muaro Jambi Temple which located in Jambi Province.both of temples located in Sumatra island.others located in Java Island..

Yup ! I really love my country.many people from other country always bashing Indonesia and Indonesians.I think it's because they know nothing about Indonesia.news around the world always give bad news about Indonesia.corrupt,maid abuse,poverty,etc..only the negative side they always give.but the positive side they always hide it.Indonesia is middle income country(i almost never hear this),3rd democratic country in the world,majority are moderate muslims(they always broadcast about extrimist),etc

ASEAN is ASEAN,no matter what they religion and how many temples or church they has :) in Indonesia we also has century old dutch churches..you can find in Jakarta (Emmanuel protestant church and Cathedral of Jakarta),Semarang (Blenduk church),Menado and Mollucas(maluku)..

Hi lagodaxnian! I think things are getting much better now. I sure hope so. We hear much less now... altogether too little. I think Indonesia has wonderful talent in art and music. America is missing out by not connecting with Indonesia. I certainly hope to visit some day!
