I want a machine for chest and shoulders.. but the range of motion for the flat bench chest press looks fucked up.. it seems as though when he pushes, he pushes up and out away from him... thanks to the ROM from the leverage machine....
how good is this machine? thinking of getting one myself. Does it work well with big weights on or do you feel much of a different the more weight you put on?
Richard, you want to do your chest, back, and shoulder exercises before your arm exercises. Doing arms first, you're tiring your arms out and limiting the weight you can do on the chest, back, and shoulder exercises.
I recently bought the power multi gym, the next size up from this one... i started out with 180 lbs when i bought my weights seeing that they were on special when i bought them. it consist of two 45's, two 10's, four 5's. It really boils down to what you can afford to buy when you go get them. My advice, is check your local sports store for specials they may have...
thats not the best powertec gym! the best one is the bench/rack/squat the one with lat tower as well thats the best powertec gym the motion on the lat is jut the smoothest smoother than my la fitness gym ones
Good Luck with the Powertec WBLS, I've had mine for about 2 years, there is a lot you can do with it, that is not listed in the book. Vert Leg Press, Donkey Calf Raise, Set backwards while doing shoulder press, with bench in decline works better.
When i assembled mine a few weeks ago, it was all ok except for the right stabaliser arm. I had to push hard to align the holes so the bolts would go in, this has caused the tower to lean to one side. My bench is also closer to the right lever arm handle. I purchased it from powerhouse fitness and they are sending me a replacement arm. I contacted Powertec and told them powerhouse fitness is no longer a distributor and Nick said Body power should help.
Body power told me to contact powerhouse for warranty service, and no one in powertec is replying to my emails. I await and see if i get a replacement arm and if it fits. Service quality seems to be a dissapointment - just because i bought it from a shop that is no longer selling Powertec stuff.
I've found the Powertec to be very smooth, and the price for a permanent home gym is little more than a year's gym membership (depending on the gym, of course.)

Not to pick on you, but work on form, slow down.

Doesn't seem like the best machine for doing lats. I have the powertec lat, love it.

Crazee is right, work the larger groups first. This way you will not tire your arms for their workouts

jorgea, you'll need Olympic size plates. Get a pair of 45s, 35s, 25s, 10s, 5s. Find a set that will contain all of them and it will be cheaper.

HEY is this machine any good? anybody??

Just curious, have you tried bench pressing 225lbs using an olympic barbell. If so, did you do more or less reps than your home machine.

The best is the powertec power rack.

Is your bench perfectly between the lever arms or is it slightly closer to one side?

Mine is closer to one side and the whole arm is slightly twisted, sent them pics too. Not heard anything yet.

I tried a powertec and don't like the motion. it is too choppy, not smooth at all. would never waste the money

are the movements on the bench press and the military press good. cause i'm about to buy one and just wanted to know
just some advice, try not to move the rest of ur body when ur trying to isolate a muscle group

The bench is great, but the shoulder press does angle slightly backward, so it doesn't feel quite like you're pressing it straight overhead.
