  • What a brass section - fantastic!

  • the greatest folk-pop duo ever...hands down no arguement

  • @primetime21212121 I would say the greatest duo all together, right up there with Han Solo and Chewie :)

  • Great song, luv this duo. why do bloggers have to make unkind remarks about S&G?? just enjoy the music. They are wonderful people, make such wonderful music. have become a fan of S&G overnight and all i do is watch the Central Park concert videos,

  • Paul Simon rocks. What a legacy. Always doing something new. A great musician and lyricist too.

  • Art Garfunkel carrys himself strangely. No rhithym. He could never 'perform- he doesnt know what to do w/ his arms or hands. ha

  • @clynnehouse Yes, Art is a little awkward. Not a dancer. But a great ear and a talented singer.

  • @StJouish You deal in understatement my friend. Art Garfunkle is a GREAT singer

  • @joediver1119 "You deal in understatement my friend. Art Garfunkle is a GREAT singer." GREAT or "TALENTED," we have no argument—Buddy. (Incidentally, you misspelled your idol's name.) Although, musical enjoyment: subjective! Ratings game you and the rest of your "friends" on YouTube play goes beyond rational argument. I, myself, judge Paul Simon to be more talented: guitarist, composer, lyricist and singer. Really GREAT singer? Around the world: Luciano Pavarotti.

  • lol gadd looks like that scumbag paul krugman in this vid.

  • Yeah! On your feet and DANCE!

  • one of the greatest songs ever by tom and jerry this show rocked and all you selling loose joints give half your money to charity

  • i cant believe there are only 93693 people with great taste in music great job i remember this on hbo in 1980's what a crew stoop kids rule

  • @knightmare5000 XD :)

  • Im learning this on drums its so hard! :s

  • Play that song when you're sad, it will make you happy.

  • Yea Dave Matthews is just a Glorfied version of Hootie and the Blowfish!!

  • that is definitely true Todd W. Dave matthews concerts (I have never been but I have seen video footage) are a cornucopia of drunk college students wearing kilts, free consumption of cheap domestic beer, "scavengers" looking for hits of other peoples weed, and flute solos. There are a decent amount of hot bitches but you have to wade through a thick sea of fraternity homos and high school scenesters.

  • boo.

Dave Matthews writes music that is 10x better than hootie

  • Great tune! Love Art's vest.

  • No way dude the Dave Matthews Band packed the park as well.

  • YEA BUST DAVE MATTHEWS BAND SUCKS, half of the people in the park then were high school kids looking for a quick high

  • THis is the first time central park was packed the other time was for Garth Brooks free concert in central park.

  • i get to play this song along with my name is al and 40way to leave you rlover in marching band! =)

  • the trumpet part in the middle is sweet

  • What a great song!! Pure rhithym!!

  • ...and rhythm!

  • we're playing this 4 marching band, also 867-5309 and thriller

  • Now that was EFFING AMAZING!!!!!

  • art garfunkel is a rock god .......

  • great song from a great concert, but art garfunkel always looks as though he's shit in his pants

  • Then I learned to play some lead guitar

I was underage in this funky bar

And I stepped outside to smoke myself a "J"

And when I came back to the room

    Everybody just seemed to move

And I turned my amp up loud and I began to play

And it was late in the evening

And I blew that room away

...amazing lyrics and the percussion accompanyment is fantastic..I kind of like Paul's solo version better....not really an Art fan.

  • I agree 100 percent, the solo Simon version rules, sounds better without Art. The lyrics that you posted are my favorite part...ever since I first heard this song almost 30 years ago when I was a kid.

  • the other drummer is the great Grady Tate

  • I'm sure i see two drummers there

  • There are two drummers there. Steve Gadd and some other guy I dont know who is..

  • WOW! This is fantastic. I always loved this song, it didn't get nearly the airplay or success it deserved when it came out. So glad it was captured on video. Everyone here is just so happy and playing so great. And the two coolest dudes at the gig are of course Paul and Art.

  • der Drummer hat`s wirklich gut drauf. Das ist der beste Drummer, den ich gehört habe

  • In my Top 10 - good times!

  • I LOVE this song and! The two coolest ones in this video is

    1) The drummer!

    2) The guy dancing in the background at 2:03 (white shirt and a cap) :)

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA i was thinking the same EXACT thing

  • "1) The drummer!"

Dude! The drummer is Steve Gadd. It goes without saying!

  • He dances like the guy with the hiked up socks in the line dance scene in Dirty Dancing

AND the cop in My Blue Heaven

    AND me

  • way to go

  • dylan is the best writer ....no doubt

  • I work at a Resort and our one house band uses this song as their opener. They do an awesome job with an awesome song.

  • how can u not like this song

  • Some say Dylan is the best songwriter, or Neil Young, etc etc, but NOONE can come close to Paul Simon's songwriting ability. Bravo!

  • Anyone who does not like this song has no soul.

  • I love it and I have soul but I can't help noticing that osamabinlangton can't spell the word 'none.'

  • Very good song, love it!!!! gerat singers Simon and Garfunkel...

  • The other drummer is Grady Tate,, a longtime session guy. The drum part can be found at classic-rock-drum-chartsDOTcom

  • i play this is in my music band

  • this song is the best i ever heard i love it =)))) keep it up

  • niiiiiiiice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • finally figured out the Steve Gadd part. It's the same as his Mozambique groove, I believe.

    (R*RLRRLRRLRLRRLL)

  • close dude, its r*rlrrlrlrrlrrlr with a samba on the feet occasionally...

  • Fantastisch, prachtig! Dit is muziek!

  • Saw hin do this live with an electric guitar and a boom box playing the background parts - it don't get much better than Late in the Evening.

  • Brilliant, I love them
