I don't think it'd be possible to compare Sigma 8-16mm, Sigma 10-20mm (both versions) Tamron 10-24mm, Tokina 11-16mm & Sony 11-18mm in only 10mins but hey I wouldn't mind seeing it attempted. That'd be a real battle of the ultrawide zooms! BTW, all UWZ zooms are prone to flaring, thats nothing unusual. As long as you keep the focal subject itself out of the extreme corners of the image frame, you won't get much if any distortion.

It is a little known secret that this lens does work with full frame cameras. You have to pull out the rear EF-S guard and NEVER EVER go wider than 14mm or else the mirror will hit the rear element. Vignetting shows from 14-16mm, but 16-22 is very usable.
