You know darling, cross-string alternate picking at that speed takes a hell of a lot more control than exclusively downpicking.

Downpicking is fucking caveman. Even Metallica admit they did it because their alternate picking technique was terrible.

Jafa, I agree with you that down picking demands more strength and endurance from guitar players; however, it is possible to chunk while alternate picking. There a style called economy picking. It's how you pick sweeps except it applies to any two to three string shredding riff too. Yngwie Malmsteen is the man at it. You played this really by the way. Webbtje you're gay!

Do you know anything about anything? Just because you've plugged it in that doesn't mean the strings themselves will no longer make sound. Go to a Metallica gig and climb on stage (good luck). Then go all the way up to James or Kirk (again, good luck) and you'll be able to hear the actual sound of their strings if you're close enough. And that's even though they're plugged into thousands of millions of dollars worth of amps.

im usin a pod v2, took me 2 years to perfect the whole thing, havin to get ma pickin hand up to speed. that was hard work. and ive had the tab out of total guitar magazine. stick to usin downpickin, it hurts like fuck for a while, but its just practise, and it takes a lor to use alternate pickin and get it to sound good. and cheers!
