You can play bass with fingers good as with pick.......all you need is practice.....i play bass about 3 years, i'm also started to play with pick but later i developed my finger tehnique and slap pop.....However Shavo plays with pick and he is good as a hell :D......so the point is, if you like to play with pick who cares about what they think......you are bass player not them :)))......so, enjoy in your playing and practise........that is the key of the success......
