I have a very easy rule that works every time. If someone tells me he is a prophet I know he is either very confused or lying. There is NOTHING to be added to Scripture and the Book of Revelation gives dire warning to anyone who would add or take away anything from those Words about the last days.
As an additional note:There was NEVER a gentile named in Scripture as an Apostle or Prophet. The "oracles" of God were committed to the Jews. Ro 3:2

Perhaps if Buddhism, Shinto, Hindu, etc., had done to it what Mormonism does to Christianity everyone would understand the situation more clearly. Since buddhists are allowed to retain their fairy tale why is it Christians must suffer Mormonism? How is Mormonism "Fair".If I took your name and history and turned you into a polytheistic polygamist with blood atoning and incantations would you be offended?.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't think your argument is with me. I don't buy Mormonism (or any other religion). Your last sentence pretty much describes the early history of many religions, even the Judaism on which Christianity and Islam are based. Hey, I am a dudette, okay...lol...anyway, not bashing anyone, but only comparing the difference between what the LDS Doctrines are and what Christian doctrines are. That's not bashing. I am not spotless, but the word of God is, and it's not hard to see that what the LDS teach are worlds apart.

I have a very easy rule that works every time. If someone tells me he is a prophet I know he is either very confused or lying. There is NOTHING to be added to Scripture and the Book of Revelation gives dire warning to anyone who would add or take away anything from those Words about the last days.
As an additional note:There was NEVER a gentile named in Scripture as an Apostle or Prophet. The "oracles" of God were committed to the Jews. Ro 3:2

I stand in agreement with you Jim. there are so many self proclaimed prophets, and the sad part is these self proclaimed prophets don't read their Bible enough to know this. Yes, very sad to see.

I have never thought about that before! I know that there can't be any Apostles today, but I never thought about gentiles who claimed to be prophets. That is very interesting.

good job. It might be well to mention that God called for the death of false Prophets when Israel was a theocracy. It would not be right to execute them in this dispensation of the church.
Our safe guard is knowing what the Bible actually says and understanding that the Bible is now complete. We need no "new" revelations and are forbidden to add them to the Scriptures. God bless and may many turn to the true Prophet and Son of God who loved them and gave Himself for them.

Joseph Smith? LoL! Just the sound of him seems fake. Not meaning 2 be harsh 2 believers but seriously! Truth needs to be told. I was about 17 when 2 VERY persuasive Mormons came2 my place. They showed me a pic of Joe Smith & "tried2turn" me lol. I wanted to laugh in hysterics & it took ages for em to STOP VISITING me! I had to tell em Im Christian but definitely NOT a Mormon. I hope some people see the silliness of it all! Great video! TY4 sharing and God bless you :)

Special thanks, since lately with the rise of Glenn Beck's popularity (as well as dislike, depending) my friends & I have been noticing the risk of compromising the Christian faith to accomodate Glenn Beck's universalistic, interfaith positions on faith -- giving platform on his show to Joel Mormons-are-Christians-too Osteen, for example. True love rejoices in truth. Let's care enough about souls and our Lord to speak unpopular truth in these times of apostasy.

with all of those women that he married - he was definitely a false prophet. In fact, some of those women were already married when Joseph Smith took them as wives.

Thank you, I sure hope it helps those who may have questions, or those who may be wondering what is wrong with the church. the good thing is, these prophecies are in the church books, otherwise they would be dismissed as lies. They can't say these are lies when it's in their own books they study and read.
