@VarietyFilmCorpVideo Ok so why don't you abandon the Egyptian law which was sent down to the christians. It's called the 10 commandments. The original Egyptian scroll "42 negative conffessions of Maat" do yr research and see if u abandon that to. Sheez..
" Without ACCURATE knowledge the hope effect from the holy scriptural effect. which would be like hoping in red riding hood. it is not real it won't happen
once you mention him going from 1914 to 1995 to 1920's he was not alive at all those points your being creative. which isn't logical just confusing and misleading.
The humane sign of aquaris is what human's (not true"non-christian) massively followed not witness's. the same humane sign used to find jesus by the human holiday christmas.
Charles T russel. Is prob burning in the Hell he didn't believe him and taking so many innocent ppl with him. the watchtower is a cult plain and clear. No freedom in it. Thats the truth.
What a load of rubbish ! The JWs have refined all those things and no longer use any symbols . They filtered them out when they done enough research to realise the origins... Charles taze russle only just figured that the churches were inaccurate and still had a lot of discovering to do, he never professed to be divinely inspired he was still learning himself. The watchtower is based on the bible and supports it's content with scriptures surely you have read them? Or are you an apostate?
You haven't done your research very well. The year 1914 was derived from historical & biblical chronology, not the Great Pyramid. I read Studies in the Scriptures cover to cover. The pyramid was used merely to corroborate, or back up, a number of dates & occurances, 1914 being just one of them. As for the winged solar disc, the cross & christmas that you mentioned, who is the only religion honest enough to abandon them?
what is all this nonsense .did you ear any witness talking about a date of the end of all this system of things, instead they talk about the last days which began in the year 1914.No specific date do they ever mention.Even the bible mentions tht even Jesus himself doesnt know. Its good for all of you to accuse an organisation on the internet because u damn well know that they won t use the internet to defend themselves.I bet uve never even asked one witness a question that they cudnt answer be
i was in the organization called "The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society"....and i still am a Witness of Jehovah.
so yes, people are on the internet ...asking questions to the organization who would not answer their legitimate questions otherwise, but rather labeled them as “apostates” and disfellowshiped them..
Are you a Witness of Jehovah on the internet? Surely they have at least your representation here, even if you're not.
@pamzie24 sometimes it seems all they do is use the internet to defend themselves or flag people who disagree with them... look around. and they are venemous when they do leave comments, incredibly hateful.
yes, if pamzie24 does not think that Witnesses are not on the internet defending themselves, all he has to do is read through the comments here. there are a lot of Witnesses on youtube. and yes, some of them are hateful. also, it is very hard to reason with them because they have been conditioned as to what to say and think. so even when you bring them proof, or present a logical argument...they can't accept it.
I am not a witness myself but have studied some of their publications. The author of this video has totally no idea of what "hope" the witnesses refer to.it is not hope in general but the hope of a resserection and the earth being transformed into a paradise thats that hope that people who have not had the true understanding of the bible do not have
i have the hope of living on a Paradise Earth. if you like, please see the video i've written (i didn't write this video, just mirrored it) called: Part 84 "The Meek Will Inherit the Earth"
there are lots people with spiritual hope on this planet who are not in that organization.
People, do you know what I think? I think these guys could be the one world religion Daniel has spoken about, perhaps they won't unify religion,s perhaps they will neutralize them, as English is neutralizing other languages slowly.
"the nations shall know that I am jehovah " book in the 2010 watchtower library initial (kj) chap 12 pg 216 par.9 says "shortly within our twentieth century, the "battle in the day of jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of jerusalem,Christendom. We are still here, a complete lie! What does Jehovah say about this? Deuteronomy 18:20-22
MANY things that you call Christian HAS TIES w/ ASTROLOGY n EGYPT. The cross with the Sun dying on it,
Also your trinity, is a gross misogynistic poor COPY of the ORIGINAL trinity on the pyramid walls in Africa.. Osiris, Isis and Horus (in other words. the Father, MOTHER, and Child.
a STAR in the EAST signaled Christ's birth
Btw that SUN DISC IS in the Bible (even tho it was COPIED from Egypt)! See Malachi 4:2
Hi, are you an ex-JW? I would like to say something to you if you aren't. Please remember the apostle Paul even condoned the killing of Stephen, a disciple of Christ. People can change over time, as they learn bible truths. Would you like everyone to know your mistakes you made many years ago? Don't you learn over time, and realize wisdom the older you get. "STOP judging that YOU may not be judged; for with what judgement YOU are measuring out, they will measure to YOU. Matthew 7:1
am a witness for Jehovah...but i am not in the organization called Jehovah's Witnesses.
let me ask you: when Jehovah's Witnesses preach and call all other religions "Babylon the Great", and judge their worship to be unfit...are they applying Matthew 7:1?
why is it they can preach, including condemning other religions, but if someone preaches a message that is not favorable to them...they are victims being judged?
@WhereIsTruth The bible calls Christendom Babylon the Great. Remember this, Jehovah can withhold a person from understanding the scriptures, despite how much they may want to understand, just like with Christendom, he lets them continue to believe the lie...right? Then what do people end up doing,? come to their own conclusion just like christendom. WOW! SEE?
@raryles, the Bible doesn't call Christendom Babylon the Great -- the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society calls it that. Oh, but I forgot: to you, they're one and the same.
@eternityandforever, you said that you would like to say something to WhereIsTruth if he isn't an ex-JW. So if he is an ex-JW, you aren't allowed to say anything to him? How said is that!
Jehovah certainly does have an earthly organization, he will call out of the nations a people for his name. The truth has to be revealed about him and has to be spread before the end, as we are the ONLY ones doing this work with great success, if not, what would be the point. The catholics, protestants, baptists or whoever is DEFINITELY not revealing the truth about Jehovah and not even his name for that fact. How much more simple does it have to get? There is no other way, zero!!!!
@WhereIsTruth you dont get it, your not listening or you dont know the scriptures. This good news of the kingdom WILL be preached in ALL the inhabited earth for a witness to ALL the nations and then will come and YES! we are the ONLY ones. Jehovah's people are in 196 contries and 50 lands...thats covers it ALL. BTW, even Christendom "appears" to be successful my friend. With this system rapidly coming to an end VERY SOON, then my guess is you are behind because your far from every land.
The reason why I believed them is because the things they say go along with their translation of the Bible, I didn't know their translation of the Bible is misleading.
Thank you for posting the video. I looked all over Google, this video is sadly true. The things the Watchtower society has taught us are disgusting lies! Seriously, I am so disgusted I feel like throwing up! I am so glad I know the truth about this now. I love God, I want nothing to do with the Watchtower society ever again!
yes, Witnesses have been lied to. many former Witnesses become bitter towards Jehovah when they realize they were lied to by the Watchtower Society....or when they become disfellowshipped. i'm glad to see that this isn't the case with you. :)
Jehovah is God, and His promises are true. however, no...they do not have a monopoly of God, nor are they the only avenue to get to Paradise, as they condition people to believe. they use fear to control people.
@jamesandchante For some 35 years, Pastor Russell thought that the Great Pyramid of Gizeh was God’s stone witness, corroborating Biblical time periods. (Isa. 19:19) But Jehovah’s Witnesses have abandoned the idea that an Egyptian pyramid has anything to do with true worship. (See “Watchtower” issues of November 15 and December 1, 1928)
....informative...what people don't realise is that the canon of the Bible was not settled until the 4th cent (365 ad) and Revelation almost didn't make it because the Orthodox Bishops knew it would cause such confusion and controversy...imagine looking to pagan buildings for Christian messages....scandalous....
Jesus taught his followers to go from house to house. He wants more people to become disciples. Jehovah's Witness are following Jesus our Lord. Read Acts 5:42, "...from house to house they continued ..declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus." Acts14:21,"...making quite a few disciples,..." Acts 20:20-"...teaching you publicly and from house to house." Jesus commands his disciples to make more disciples. READ Matthew 28:19,20-"Go therefore and make disciples of people..."
here is the problem with the 1914 date according to Russell's calculations: it was not 607bce that the Babylonians seized Jerusalem. it was more like 590bce...so their whole calculations is off and 1914 is a bogus date...as time has now proven.
@WhereIsTruth LOL the generation that will never pass is gone. And even if you were born in 1914 you will be dead in a few years. How many witnesses are over 100? Remember Judge Rutherford titled a book called "Millions Now Living Will Never Die"? Where are those millions? There are only 7 million JW's worldwide. How many of the 7 mil were born around 1914-1925?
right, it was at their 1925 convention that the keynote address was "millions now living will never die"
well, even if you were a new born baby at that convention you would now be 86 years old. so it could well be that not even one person who was at that convention is still alive. certainly no adults who were there are.
Their religion is no better than mormons`. I don`t say this to be unfair I say this beecause it`s all just part of the big deception and we need to see it for what it is.
Why is the governing body mainly white American men if Jehovah had annoited people why not have Chinese Indians blacks it seems like god has favorites
really? then i guess you have never seen his memorial stone. it's a pyramid with masonic symbols on it. also, it is a fact that he got his date for 1914 by using numerology of the great pyramid. there is actually film footage of him explaining the measurements, an idea which he took from others who came up with the 1914 date using these measurements back in the mid 1800's.
@WhereIsTruth ive seen the memorial stone its like fifteen feet away from his gravestone, it has the symbols formerly used by christianity and now freemasons adopted them, some churches still use the symbol with a cross through a crown.
@WhereIsTruth ThirdNUnion is in denial like most Jehovah's Witnesses unfortunately! The fact is that Charles Taze Russel was identified as a Freemason in a book first published in 1933 by author Edith Starr Miller. The book lists numerous organisations and societies that are Freemasonic Associations. The author lists the Russelites/International Bible Students as one of these Freemasonic Associations. Certainly NOT research done from the internet!
@ThirdNUnion Actually, Charles Taze Russell IS listed as a member of a secret society in a book first published in 1933 by Edith Starr Miller. The book is titled OCCULT THEOCRACY. It lists many Organisations and Societies that are Freemasonic Associations with Russelites/International Bible Students being classified by the author as Freemasonic or Occultic in origin. I certainly did not get my information from the internet. I have the book right in front of me!
The true prophet Jonah was ' off ' with his prophecy of the destruction of Nineveh. Don't mock mercy.
The bible students hit it out of the ball park with their prediction of 1914. Everything caught a ride on the four horsemen and became global War, then shortly after the first pandemic and economic problems. (wars were always global, but not one war and one disease and so on.)
Examine a tree's ' own ' leaves. Examine the pages of ' our ' publications. Regards.
Jonah was not off...the people's response was what altered the outcome.
Russell was not the first to "predict" 1914. he got that date and the idea of the measurements of the pyramid of GIza from othersin the mid 1800's.
also, he was wrong because he predicted the end would be then. after it didn't happened, it was changed to meaning it was the beginning of the end. it was changed to the generation that was alive would see the end...which didn't happen either.
Jehovah's Witnesses count years. For example, contrary to Jesus' commandment, that it is not for true Christians to know times for restoration of the Kingdom of Israel, especially, Jesus never added, that it is now, it is not for you to know, but afterwards it will be for you to know it (see: Acts 1:6,7).The sum of Roman numerals in expression "Jehovah's Witnesses' Calendar '' here is equal to 666.
how dare you people try and make a mockery of the only one religion that tries to abide to principle in the bible..... are yall not the ones who beheaded people in the 18th century are yall not the ones who enslave poor ppl.... are yall not the ones who love violence an adultry an sin and yall come and make a judgment on us first judge your self and see to it that you are right in gods eyes because in the end he wont help you open your eyes dont be blinded
yes, but the Witnesses are not the only "farmers" for Jehovah. they do not have a monopoly of Jehovah's love...nor do they have "the truth", as they claim. there is falsehood and problems amongst the Witnesses too.
but yes, most are sincere and will be blessed by Most High
1914 (among OTHER pathetic years) is a year that proved a fake. this should arise suspicion as to what other parts of their (jehovah's witnesses) careened brain is a fake.
@afterray do you believe in Jesus words that the end of this world is to come?
if he said this and even talked about the delay : what kind of attitude do you have?
48 “But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’ 49 and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know,
yes, i believe we are in the end times. also, i am not beating the Witnesses. rather, i am preaching to them. just as they are not beating those in Christendom, whence they came from, when they go door to door preaching and exposing falsehood.
You would think by now that most people would question why such a peacefull group of christians are hated so much! Anyone who has a decent knowledge about Jehovah's witnesses know the apposates keep using the same old lies.. I feel sorry for them, I really do, If you don't agree with JW's thats fine but to keep on moaning about them, please get a life! Or are you just trying to justify the fact that you know your very very wrong?
their 1914 date was wrong and of pagan origin. that is not persecution...that is a fact. they claim they have "the truth"...exposing something as false does not make them a victim.
First off an "apostate is someone who teaches contrary to the bible truths taught by Jehovahs witnesses". This is from their secrect elders book. And yes it does exsist. So how is exposing the history of the WTBS teaching contrary to their beliefs? Futher you need to be a baptized JW to be a apostate. You can buy Russells old book on ebay, i did. Thy Kingdom Come book is great. The last chapter of that book deals with the pyramid measuring. Nope your very wrong!
the babylonian confusion that the witnesses came from , made them change step by step.
they used their intelligence and discovered how wrong they were where they started . gradually their knowledge increased and they became worldleaders in innovation of bible truths.
but they dont want to innovate this old world . they want people to change those who want to live in the new world, where there is no more babylonian confusion.
@scorpa65 I love it! However everytime I reference the old CT Russ. books they just tell me that that's an irrelevent argument and is of no importance. LOL
The recurring allusion to pyramids grew out of the terror early man recounted and passed through legend of volcanoes, or mountains of fire. "Pyra" comes from the Greek word for fire, the same root that gave us the word "pyre" or "pyromaniac". This is where the idea of hell came from, the lake of fire beneath the earth ws actually molten lava. which ;ooked like liquid fire at night, pouring down the sides of the mountain as people screamed in agony when they were overtaken by its flow.
Many JW's hide in the dark of not wanting to know the true history of the organization. This is an intellectual dishonesty. Do you know about Charles Taze Russell's " bible in stone" the Great Pyramid of GAZA? Or the 1928 return of the prophets and the house the JW's built for them?
most younger JW's have no idea about their origin...and many others want to pretend like it never happened. the governing body likes to expose falsehoods in other religions....how about a watchtower study article revealing the truth about their history.
@WhereIsTruth I've learnt in life that people who shout the loadest have got more to cover up, its called Psychological projection and they have it down to a tee.
@TheJwhistory WOW I totally forgot about the Return of the Prophets in 1928 and the Mansion that Judge Rutherford built for himself in San Diego. I spoke to an elder about that the other day. He told me that it means nothing and that I should not concern myself with these things that do not have to do with the Truth.
Not sure if I filled in the form right. I was commenting or trying to comment on the video entitled: Jehovah's Witnesses and the Pagan Origin of 1914 Sorry if I sent that to the wrong person
You see, what I like about JWs is that they recognize that the Bible says that we should learn PROGRESSIVELY (everything is not gonna be revealed to us right at one time), but you see, when JWs find that something is unholy (like, they used to celebrate holidays, they MAKE CHANGE, unlike churches today, that turn a blind eye to it
but they refuse to let go of the 1914 date because it is their core doctrine. they promised people for many decades that the end would come before that generation passed away. it is hard for them to change this and tell the truth about where the date came from...because they conditioned people to look forward to the end that they promised was coming...based on this date.
how about if they have an article telling the truth about that date, and about Russell's pyramid memorial stone?
@WhereIsTruth I do not know of Charles Taze Russell coming up w/ this date from "pyramids", this has not been proven to me, and I'm not gonna just believe something because this video says it. However, I have been shown from JWs THEMSELVES how they calculated 1914:
go to the watchtower site, and type in "1914" to find out from the SOURCE
well, this video has quotes from the 1903 and 1925 Watchtower so you surely could find out...that is if the organization will provide you with the data from that time. they use to provide access to the old information...but maybe not anymore.
@Lashid4u You should order CT Russel's books. They show the pyramids and how Russel got his date of 1914. They also prophesied that in 1928 Abraham and Isaac would be resurrected so they built a mansion in San Diego called Beth Sarim. Joseph Rutherford lived there instead.
@WhereIsTruth ..and I can not say that I, totally, believe that the last days began in the exact year of 1914, however, it's OBVIOUS that we ARE living in the last days, and this is what is most important ..So, I'm not gonna disregard what I have been taught of the Bible by them simply because of an estimation error ..as long as we are prepared, and taught what we should and should not do, by the word of the Bible..and understand the bible teaches that we should learn PROGRESSIVELY
@WhereIsTruth Yes, but the Bible tells us that we should congregate, and Christians met at temples in the Bible ...or, we should "organize" ..Now, I see a title such as "catholic" or "Lutheran" as a religion, but if you call yourself a witness of Jehovah, you are only representing Jehovah, not Russell-Tate, nor Luther ..they are just men, like subject to sin (like Solomon) ..and I am w/ the JW "organization", or congregation between the are lead BY THE BIBLE - they dig for truth, unlike churches
@Lashid4u I've seen much more bible truth and Christian love at churches than I ever experienced at the kingdom hall. The bible is all the churches use, they dont rely on information written by man that is subject to constant change.
@Lashid4u Please understand that it is very difficult to believe "the truth" from a false prophet that has made many false dates and prophecies. And not to mention their hypocrisies like Joining the U.N. as a Non Governmental Organization in 1991. Then they recinded their membership when that info became public in 2001. Don't believe me? Write a letter to the U.N. they will confirm it.
No that is not true! read what does the bible really teach published by Jehovah's Witnesses then you will find out about 1914 it is biblically supported!! Please read it it wasn't confounded by astrology
according to the 1903 and 1925 Watchtowers Russell used astrology and the pyramid measurements. there is actual silent movie footage of Russel explaining how he derived the date from the great pyramid of Giza measurements. it is recorded history that shows the truth about this. in fact, Russell's memorial stone is a pyramid with masonic symbols on it....it still sits there today in Pennsylvania for all to see.
@WhereIsTruth As I have learned, he used pyramid measurements for CHRONOLOGICAL evidence! Ya know, like they do in archeology? You are just playing on how everyone is now associating pyramids w/ something evil ...and btw, did he set up his tombstone (from the grave)? Was that his ORIGINAL tombstone? Did he rise from the grave, and order it to be replaced, or something? ..And even if he were a mason, that has nothing to do w/ the doctrine JWs (not masonites) are taught from the Bible, today
Russel was expecting the end of the world. like so many other CULTS. or pyscho people in the crazy secret society. how many time is the world suppose to end...oh now its 2012....
when someone is being led by Holy Spirit, they are not a robot and are still imperfect, fallible.Brother Russel did his best, as have most of Jehovah's loyal servants through the ages. The light is getting brighter.Jehovah, Sovreign Lord, God of Armies, is very aware of the thoughts and words of ridiculers, who, in their empty-headedness, do not fear Him.Repent before there is no more time left in which to repent.
@Lynllie Russel was a mason. dont you understand the FOUNDATION came from him. the foundation of JW's...the higher ups in JW's. they dont serve who u think they serve. i wouldnt doubt that the people in bethel are masons..the higher ups..of course the lower people wouldnt know they just puppets. i pray that you wake up and be enlighten to truth. but i cant make you see it you have to want to see it for yourself. threw reasearch.
@Lynllie , I agree, many examples in the Bible. Moses made some errors, so did King David, Solomon, and the list goes on. The Bible does not hide the errors humans make. Only Jesus was a perfect human.
@Lynllie - What is the bible formula for determining a false prophet? Seems they had to predict falsely ONCE in order for flame to burn down from heaven or the earth to open up and swallow them. Why do you hang around with a group that has predicted the Day and Hour at least half a dozen times?
Charles Taze Rusell did not use astrology to validate the 1914. He did not believe in astrology. The quote attributed to him are not his words. Russell did not believe in the astrologist's claim that man would work out his own salvation.
Even though the end didn't happen in 1914, there was still a major event that took place in 1914 which was world war 1...which is still amazing how russel came up with this year by studying the bible...Russel is not the devil.. he honest heartedly was trying to seek the truth through the bible...people always try to find mistakes and say "see see,, that'se the devil!'...lol.... At least his mistake was recognized and corrected when re-examining the scriptures... we all are imperfect humans.. :)
@TaiyahLove Russell was not expecting the end of the world in 1914; he was expecting the end of the Gentile Times and, at least from 1904 onward, he was expecting the beginning of the time of trouble in 1914. Nevertheless, Russell did not come up with 1914 as the end of the Gentile Times on his own; it was known before Russell became interested in time prophecy.
yes he was. i was a Witness for 13 years. i read in the Watchtower that when the date in October came and went they wondered what it meant at the breakfast table that the end didn't come.
the WTBTS is trying to cover up the truth of all the false predictions. the very name of the key address at their 1925 Convention was "Millions now living will never die"...where they told everyone they should leave their jobs and preach cause the end was almost here.
@WhereIsTruth Russell was NOT expecting the end of the world in 1914; many misinterpreted that he was saying such, which prompted him to produce a tract for circulation beginning January of 1914: "End of World in 1914 - Not the View of Pastor Russell or I.B.S.A." However, many have even mispresented that tract by quoting on the first part, "End of World in 1914," making it appear that he was expecting the end of the world in 1914.
@WhereIsTruth I am not with the JWs, but I have been studying Russell's works (along with writings of many others) for almost 50 years. Russell would never have approved of the organization and teachings of Rutherford. Rutherford introduced a gospel that is almost the opposite of the glad tidings of great joy for all people that Russell taught.
hello, well all i know is in 1925 it was announced at a convention of JW's that "Millions Now Living Will Never Die". virtually all adults at that convention are now dead.
also, i was a Witness for many years. when i first was a Witnesses they clearly taught that the generation that witnessed 1914 would live to see the end. it was taught regularly as doctrine. i was a zealous Witness who paid close attention...this is what they taught back in the 1980's...absolutely.
@WhereIsTruth The "Millions Now Living" and 1925 came, not from Russell, but from Rutherford; I am positive that Russell would not have agreed with Rutherford's formation of an authoritarian organization, and I am even more positive that Russell would never have approved of Rutherford's new gospel.
@WhereIsTruth In 1925, Rutherford was busy thinking up new ways to set up his new organization; already a great many of the Bible Students had rejected his new organization; many others did not seem aware of what he was doing. By 1930, Rutherford had introduced his new gospel teachings, and most of the earlier Bible Students movement had rejected his new gospel, and his new organization.
well one thing is for sure. for an organization that claims to have "the Truth" and is quick to expose falsehood in other religions...they sure like to conceal the truth about their true history. i know, i not only was a Witness for 13 years, but during that time i read many of the older publications from decades before the time i was a Witness...
...they have predicted many false things. and their teachings on 1914 have changed as they struggled to keep the lie going when it was becoming obvious that their core doctrine was false.. without a doubt now 1914 was a bogus date, but they just keep trying to justify it. actually, Russell was just copying a trend of his time. it was in the mid 1800's that some archeologist started saying that the measurement of the passage ways in Great Pyramid pointed to the date 1914...
...Russell was a mason who clearly based his 1914 date on astrology and this measurement theory from the 1800's that he acquired from other people's speculation. it's just another organization of truth and falsehood mixed together...except this one brainwashes their followers with fear more. people have given their whole lives to this controlling organization and they're afraid to let go. the simple truth is though...you can be a Witness of Jehovah, without being in the organization called that.
@WhereIsTruth WHY would you not want to call yourself a Jehovah's Witness? I do not believe this is Russell's name ...and if you are going to represent, what better way to represent Jehovah's than to use the name JEHOVAH! Btw, although Russell founded the original Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, he was NOT the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, in fact, he died, like, 2 decades before Jehovah's Witnesses, as they are known today, come into being
well they weren't called Witnesses until 1931, but it was still the same religion. i was a Witness for many years, i know all about them. i also know that they claimed that in 1918 they were chosen by Jesus as the true religion. really? they still used the cross and celebrated Christmas. so that is just one other false thing that they claim. and another was that millions alive in 1925 would never die. well, even someone who was a new born baby at the time...would be 85 now.
@WhereIsTruth I am a 3rd generation JW. My large family goes into 4 genreations. My grandparents have a huge library of old watcthowers. I am going to their house on Saturday to look up the 1975 failed prohpecy,
that is good. i have read many of their older publications years ago myself.
just remember, do not become bitter at Jehovah, as so many do when they out the truth about this organization.
Jehovah, and the man-made organization of Jehovah's Witnesses are two different things...and the "organization" does not have a monopoly on Jehovah's love like they think they do. :)
@TaiyahLove - I agree - while Charles Taze Russel certainly had misunderstanding in a number of areas, he was, in my opinion, a genuine seeker of Biblical truth. It's great that he, and those who came after him, believed in studying the Bible to ascertain the most valid interpretation and revising interpretational conclusions if they were believed to be incorrect, rather than falling into dogma.
I have to say since I've studied with JW I've learned more about the scriptures but I do question some of their early teachings and yes I get the impression that if you are not a JW that you have no hope but we know by the scriptures that's not the truth Acts 24:15 but with every religious group they will say they have the truth and everyone else is wrong. My advice is to read the bible for yourself. I still haven't figured out how JW say Jesus is the Arch Angel Michael
So far out of context there's no where to start. Yes, Russel had some stupid ideas as well as some good ones. The 1914 thing comes from an interpretation of a prophecy in the book of Daniel. Not the pyramids or Jupiter. These two happened to coincide, and they made the mistake of mentioning the coincidence... in 1903, apparently they didn't anticipate everything they stated to be used out of context.
@AlexRadesNaruto Was it a change for the worse? Really? Or is that what your WT has told you to think? Watch Tim Kilgore's video The Times They Aren't a-Changing. He cites reliable sources showing how things like crime and violence are actually falling over the years...
The condition of the dead is made clear in Ecclesiastes. he condition of the dead is made clear at Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, where we read: "The dead know nothing . . . In the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." (New International Version) Scripturally, death is a state of nonexistence. The dead have no awareness, no feelings, no thoughts.
Hades is mentioned, sure. But the proper translation of "hades" is "a grave" ... not a place of eternal torment. Speaking of which, the video makes a point about how JWs use "fear of death" to force people to be JWs... Would you like to compare this with threats of "burning forever in a fiery hell with immeasurable torment and no escape for all of eternity?"
God says "The wages of sin is death" ... not "eternal hell."
Jehovah is one of God's names...the English pronunciation.
who knows how it was pronounced in Hebrew...perhaps Yahweh or Yahovah.
i use all those names...and also Allah.
Allah means the God in Arabic (Al = The, Lah=God)
did you know that Jesus called God, Allah, as he spoke Aramaic, a form of Arabic...and also, to this day Jews and Christians who speak Arabic call God Allah?
Jehovah, Yahweh, Yahovah, Allah, God, Most Gracious....i refer to God by all those name.
i know that is what they have taught you...i was a Witness for 13 years.
however the date is bogus.
my proof?
that generation has indeed past away.
Russell got the date from astrology and the measurements of the Great Pyramid....truth they do not reveal in the Watchtower.
as to your other comment that it is not mind control cause you can physically leave...yes you could but mind control does not physically restrain a person...that is why it is called mind control.
ilovevws14, I was a Ministerial Servant for 15 years and I can conclude, you don't know squat you're talking about.
Jehovah chose Russell? Russell STOLE the 1914 theory from Carl Olof Jonnsonn. Jonnsonn and NOT Russell, came up with "the end of the gentile times". So, how can Jehovah choose Russell when Jonnsonn came up with the theory first?
This means, Jehovah really CHOSE Jonnsonn.
You're only answering based on the WTS taught you, ONLY.
@poconoporker , Actually Brown came up with "the 1914 year doctrine", Olof was the author that revealed this through his book "the gentile times reconsidered."
Actually, the JWs do not hide that the date 1914 was partially derived from other Christian scholars. Maybe you are just talking to somebody who does not really listen all that well or spends not enough time researching their own beliefs.
Even the name watchtower is SATANIC wake up fools. If someone is living a LIE they will most likely reject information thet contradicts what they were taught. If common sencse, logic and circumstantial evidence coincide with argument that argument can be nothing more then the truth for that is what truth is comprised of. If peaple became knowledgeble of satan's devices he would not be able to control or fool them, therefore one of satan's goals would be to keep man ignorant while his demons
This is an VERY inaccurate video of Jehovah Witnesses. It is too bad you have never really come to ACCURATELY know what Jehovah's Witnesses believe before spreading this video. In the begining no one knows everything perfectly right, it takes time to learn what is true and what is not. But it is what you do with the truth once you have learn it is what should be measured. Maybe Jehovah Witnesses didn't have everything right in those early years but in time they have been blessed spiritual truth.
Since studing the Bible with the Witnesses I no longer bow down to Idols. I worship in spirit and truth. I now know that Jehovah is a loving, caring and forgiving God who do not let toss us into "hell" to burn forever. Studying the Bible with the Witnesses have given me peace to know that I and my dead relatives have a chance to live forever under peaceful conditions and many more truths that I would not have learned.
Yes you bow down to the Watchtower Society, don't bother arguing as I used to be there. Once the veil of false prophecy and baloney is uncovered, you have to acknowledge you have nothing. All kinds of groups or cults can proclaim they are the way & truth but once all the facts are weighed, it is nothing more than a false prophet!
Yeah you were a Witness for 13 years... but were the truth really in you. Sometimes it takes people much longer to really get it and seal it into their hearts. Having information is not always enough.
i already explained to you how sincere and devoted i was as a Witness.
i am not saying the Witnesses do not do any good. however, they are a mind control cult. any religion that teaches; "you must believe exactly as we do or you will die" is a lie. any religion that tries to alienate people is a cult.
i am a Witness of Jehovah. but no, i am not in that organization.
i know they have brainwashed you to think so...but they do not have a monopoly on Jehovah. :)
I am in no way being mind controled. I am able to come and go and believe whatever I want. It is my choice. It is my choice to stay with the Witnesses because this is where I have found real truth. I have been associated with many religions from my childhood up and this is where I have been truly spiritually freed. Whatever your problem was/is with the Witnesses you certainly cannot speak for all Witnesses to say we are afraid to die that why we stay, we just appreciate spiritual truths.

You haven't done your research very well. The year 1914 was derived from historical & biblical chronology, not the Great Pyramid. I read Studies in the Scriptures cover to cover. The pyramid was used merely to corroborate, or back up, a number of dates & occurances, 1914 being just one of them. As for the winged solar disc, the cross & christmas that you mentioned, who is the only religion honest enough to abandon them?

yes, if pamzie24 does not think that Witnesses are not on the internet defending themselves, all he has to do is read through the comments here. there are a lot of Witnesses on youtube. and yes, some of them are hateful. also, it is very hard to reason with them because they have been conditioned as to what to say and think. so even when you bring them proof, or present a logical argument...they can't accept it.

am a witness for Jehovah...but i am not in the organization called Jehovah's Witnesses.
let me ask you: when Jehovah's Witnesses preach and call all other religions "Babylon the Great", and judge their worship to be unfit...are they applying Matthew 7:1?
why is it they can preach, including condemning other religions, but if someone preaches a message that is not favorable to them...they are victims being judged?
WhereIsTruth 8 months ago
@WhereIsTruth The bible calls Christendom Babylon the Great. Remember this, Jehovah can withhold a person from understanding the scriptures, despite how much they may want to understand, just like with Christendom, he lets them continue to believe the lie...right? Jehovah certainly does have an earthly organization, he will call out of the nations a people for his name. The truth has to be revealed about him and has to be spread before the end, as we are the ONLY ones doing this work with great success, if not, what would be the point. The catholics, protestants, baptists or whoever is DEFINITELY not revealing the truth about Jehovah and not even his name for that fact. How much more simple does it have to get? There is no other way, zero!!!!

@jamesandchante For some 35 years, Pastor Russell thought that the Great Pyramid of Gizeh was God’s stone witness, corroborating Biblical time periods. Acts 20:20-"...teaching you publicly and from house to house." Jesus commands his disciples to make more disciples. READ Matthew 28:19,20-"Go therefore and make disciples of people..."

WhereIsTruth 8 months ago
@WhereIsTruth LOL the generation that will never pass is gone. And even if you were born in 1914 you will be dead in a few years. How many witnesses are over 100? How many of the 7 mil were born around 1914-1925?

right, it was at their 1925 convention that the keynote address was "millions now living will never die"

Russell was not the first to "predict" 1914. he got that date and the idea of the measurements of the pyramid of GIza from othersin the mid 1800's.
also, he was wrong because he predicted the end would be then. after it didn't happened, it was changed to meaning it was the beginning of the end. it was changed to the generation that was alive would see the end...which didn't happen either.
it's a false date

WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
you are wrong informed:
the date was a combination of several bible prophecies:
from the beginning of the time of the nations in 607 before christ we would have seven times.
how long is a time ?
in revelation we see 3,5 times is 1260 days, so seven times is 2520 days.
well after 2520 days from 607 before christ nothing important happened .
but if it was a year for a day: then we come in 1914 .
this is a key that is sometimes used.
so witnesses foretold that 1914 would be a remarkable year!
afterraincomessun 1 year ago
@afterraincomessun
yes, that is what you were taught. but the quotes from the Watchtowers of 1903 and 1925 are in this video.
1914 was a false date...there is no doubt about that now...because the generation has indeed past away.
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
this date is still accurate.
But Jesus presence is in spirit , in signs which you have to interprete good.
Jesus said that he would not come back visible for the world but his disciples would see it.
so in 1914 he came and satan was thrown out of heaven like revelation says.
the generation that started or had already started is the key in understanding the time that started then.
still we rather predict to early than too late. If God is leading you do you know the explanation?
afterraincomessun 1 year ago

i believe differently than you. but one thing we can both agree on is that...Jehovah is the one who knows best.

Prove that from scripture! For a start, What year did Jerusalem fall to the Babylonians?
We know that the Society likes to quote from archeology & history when it suits them. Nothing wrong with that!
But, let's apply this line of thinking in this case also:
Give me one, BUT ONE, scientific source confirming that it happened in 607/606 BC. If you can't, your whole generation idea completely crumbles.
Now be up to the task please. Show us - and I shall yield!

the babylonian confusion that the witnesses came from , made them change step by step.
they used their intelligence and discovered how wrong they were where they started . gradually their knowledge increased and they became worldleaders in innovation of bible truths.

The recurring allusion to pyramids grew out of the terror early man recounted and passed through legend of volcanoes, or mountains of fire. "Pyra" comes from the Greek word for fire, the same root that gave us the word "pyre" or "pyromaniac". This is where the idea of hell came from, the lake of fire beneath the earth ws actually molten lava. which ;ooked like liquid fire at night, pouring down the sides of the mountain as people screamed in agony when they were overtaken by its flow.

but they refuse to let go of the 1914 date because it is their core doctrine. they promised people for many decades that the end would come before that generation passed away. it is hard for them to change this and tell the truth about where the date came from...because they conditioned people to look forward to the end that they promised was coming...based on this date.
how about if they have an article telling the truth about that date, and about Russell's pyramid memorial stone?
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
@WhereIsTruth I do not know of Charles Taze Russell coming up w/ this date from "pyramids", this has not been proven to me, and I'm not gonna just believe something because this video says it. However, I have been shown from JWs THEMSELVES how they calculated 1914:
go to the watchtower site, and type in "1914" to find out from the SOURCE
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u
well, this video has quotes from the 1903 and 1925 Watchtower so you surely could find out...that is if the organization will provide you with the data from that time. they use to provide access to the old information...but maybe not anymore.
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago

Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u
you should follow the Bible...not an organization.
more or less, yes it is the last days...but you don't have to be in that organization to know that.

QueenMyRayaFya 1 year ago
@QueenMyRayaFya
according to the 1903 and 1925 Watchtowers Russell used astrology and the pyramid measurements. there is actual silent movie footage of Russel explaining how he derived the date from the great pyramid of Giza measurements. it is recorded history that shows the truth about this. in fact, Russell's memorial stone is a pyramid with masonic symbols on it....it still sits there today in Pennsylvania for all to see.
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
@WhereIsTruth As I have learned, he used pyramid measurements for CHRONOLOGICAL evidence! Ya know, like they do in archeology? You are just playing on how everyone is now associating pyramids w/ something evil ...and btw, did he set up his tombstone (from the grave)? Was that his ORIGINAL tombstone? Did he rise from the grave, and order it to be replaced, or something? ..And even if he were a mason, that has nothing to do w/ the doctrine JWs (not masonites) are taught from the Bible, today

TaiyahLove 1 year ago
@TaiyahLove Russell was not expecting the end of the world in 1914; he was expecting the end of the Gentile Times and, at least from 1904 onward, he was expecting the beginning of the time of trouble in 1914. Nevertheless, Russell did not come up with 1914 as the end of the Gentile Times on his own; it was known before Russell became interested in time prophecy.
reslight 1 year ago
@reslight
yes he was. i was a Witness for 13 years. i read in the Watchtower that when the date in October came and went they wondered what it meant at the breakfast table that the end didn't come.
the WTBTS is trying to cover up the truth of all the false predictions. the very name of the key address at their 1925 Convention was "Millions now living will never die"...where they told everyone they should leave their jobs and preach cause the end was almost here.
these things are documented.
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
@WhereIsTruth Russell was NOT expecting the end of the world in 1914; many misinterpreted that he was saying such, which prompted him to produce a tract for circulation beginning January of 1914: "End of World in 1914 - Not the View of Pastor Russell or I.B.S.A." However, many have even mispresented that tract by quoting on the first part, "End of World in 1914," making it appear that he was expecting the end of the world in 1914.
reslight 1 year ago
@WhereIsTruth I am not with the JWs, but I have been studying Russell's works (along with writings of many others) for almost 50 years. Russell would never have approved of the organization and teachings of Rutherford. Rutherford introduced a gospel that is almost the opposite of the glad tidings of great joy for all people that Russell taught.
reslight 1 year ago
@reslight
hello, well all i know is in 1925 it was announced at a convention of JW's that "Millions Now Living Will Never Die". virtually all adults at that convention are now dead.
also, i was a Witness for many years. when i first was a Witnesses they clearly taught that the generation that witnessed 1914 would live to see the end. it was taught regularly as doctrine. i was a zealous Witness who paid close attention...this is what they taught back in the 1980's...absolutely.
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
@WhereIsTruth The "Millions Now Living" and 1925 came, not from Russell, but from Rutherford; I am positive that Russell would not have agreed with Rutherford's formation of an authoritarian organization, and I am even more positive that Russell would never have approved of Rutherford's new gospel.
reslight 1 year ago
@WhereIsTruth In 1925, Rutherford was busy thinking up new ways to set up his new organization; already a great many of the Bible Students had rejected his new organization; many others did not seem aware of what he was doing. By 1930, Rutherford had introduced his new gospel teachings, and most of the earlier Bible Students movement had rejected his new gospel, and his new organization.
reslight 1 year ago
@reslight
hello again,
well one thing is for sure. for an organization that claims to have "the Truth" and is quick to expose falsehood in other religions...they sure like to conceal the truth about their true history. i know, i not only was a Witness for 13 years, but during that time i read many of the older publications from decades before the time i was a Witness...
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
...they have predicted many false things. and their teachings on 1914 have changed as they struggled to keep the lie going when it was becoming obvious that their core doctrine was false.. without a doubt now 1914 was a bogus date, but they just keep trying to justify it. actually, Russell was just copying a trend of his time. it was in the mid 1800's that some archeologist started saying that the measurement of the passage ways in Great Pyramid pointed to the date 1914...
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
...Russell was a mason who clearly based his 1914 date on astrology and this measurement theory from the 1800's that he acquired from other people's speculation. it's just another organization of truth and falsehood mixed together...except this one brainwashes their followers with fear more. people have given their whole lives to this controlling organization and they're afraid to let go. the simple truth is though...you can be a Witness of Jehovah, without being in the organization called that.
WhereIsTruth 1 year ago
@WhereIsTruth WHY would you not want to call yourself a Jehovah's Witness? I do not believe this is Russell's name ...and if you are going to represent, what better way to represent Jehovah's than to use the name JEHOVAH! Btw, although Russell founded the original Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, he was NOT the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, in fact, he died, like, 2 decades before Jehovah's Witnesses, as they are known today, come into being
Lashid4u 1 year ago
@Lashid4u
well they weren't called Witnesses until 1931, but it was still the same religion. i was a Witness for many years, i know all about them. i also know that they claimed that in 1918 they were chosen by Jesus as the true religion. really? they still used the cross and celebrated Christmas. so that is just one other false thing that they claim. and another was that millions alive in 1925 would never die. well, even someone who was a new born baby at the time...would be 85 now.

My advice is to read the bible for yourself. I still haven't figured out how JW say Jesus is the Arch Angel Michael
showtime302 1 year ago
So far out of context there's no where to start. Yes, Russel had some stupid ideas as well as some good ones. The 1914 thing comes from an interpretation of a prophecy in the book of Daniel. Not the pyramids or Jupiter. These two happened to coincide, and they made the mistake of mentioning the coincidence... in 1903, apparently they didn't anticipate everything they stated to be used out of context.

Try talking to a jehova about hell. They don't beleive in hell. Hell or 'hades' is mentioned many times in the bible. But still they don't beleive.
deemat555 1 year ago
@deemat555

They believe that hell is the grave, and gehenna is the eternal grave.

who knows how it was pronounced in Hebrew...perhaps Yahweh or Yahovah.

Allah means the God in Arabic (Al = The, Lah=God)
did you know that Jesus called God, Allah, as he spoke Aramaic, a form of Arabic...and also, to this day Jews and Christians who speak Arabic call God Allah?
Jehovah, Yahweh, Yahovah, Allah, God, Most Gracious....i refer to God by all those name.

ilovevws14, I was a Ministerial Servant for 15 years and I can conclude, you don't know squat you're talking about.
