Trucks dont use Gas, they use Diesel. They are smoking because the engines are being revved really hard, and the black smoke is also because its running very rich air/fuel mixture. If the smoke was blue it would be burning oil

@DJNomade There is massive amounts of fuel being pumped into the cylinders, to make max power. Because diesel burns much slower than gasoline, not all of the fuel is burned by the time the piston pushes the exhaust gases out the exhaust valve. The result is exhaust with a greater amount of raw fuel in it, as evidenced by the smoke. The fuel is diesel #2, no oil is mixed into it.

Diesel burns slow, thus, the black smoke is from unburned diesel being pushed out in the Exhaust Stroke. There is no oil in #2 diesel, which i would imagine is what they are using.

That smoke is actually cleaner for the environment than anything that comes out of a Gasoline Powered Economy Car. No to mention more powerful and fuel efficient per liter of displacement.

Idiot, that's diesel they're burning... Wood is biomass, its combustion gases are used by all photosynthesizing plants, which then turn them back into biomass. Diesel is fossil fuel, extracted from raw oil by distillation. The combustion gases of diesel aren't reusable by plants (mostly). What's gone is gone, you get the energy (heat) from it, but you're left with a bunch of nasty gases which in the long run will most likely kill you in some way.
