The controls make this synthesizer almost immediately approchable and nearly transparant. The catalog of functions is printed right on the top, hardly any need for the manual. I was flowing through customized and highly entertaining new sounds in the first half hour of using it. The DX-7 is condemned as difficult at best. I would say the DS-8 is the cure for FM blues. All the joys and none of the woes. And it can be had for only a fraction of the cheapest Yamaha FM. Still, I like my TG-77s, too.
My local guitar center has this for $125, seems to work well as far as I can see. 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Thoughts, anyone?

@1RobMc1 you need a midi-usb interface cable. Try E-mu.
