I never come face to face with this woman as I don't know if I'd be able to control myself. She has filled the heads of many parents of Deaf children with loads of CRAP. She spews negativity & continues to demoralize the relationship between the hearing & Deaf community. I heard she moved here from another state & I wish she would go back & leave us alone. She's nothing but negative energy. Nikki, if you're reading this, I hope you've read every word and take it all personally.
get them an ASL interpreter!! But, to put down interpreters who have been working in this field for 30+ years because they interpret SEE is wrong. The children have been succeeding. If they weren't, don't you think the district would've done something about this a long time ago? Nikki obviously has mental problems, she enjoys causing havoc. You really have NO idea what she has done. The word that comes to mind when I think of this "woman" is B!TCH. She'd probably see that as a compliment. I hope
DrDon, I respect your oppinion. Maybe I am being harsh, but you're on that end and I'm on the opposite. She has gone too far. I understand that there are underqualified interpreters out there. I also understand that there are interpreters who interpret in different modalities. Just because an interpreter doesn't sign in the modality SHE thinks is right, doesn't mean it's wrong. If her children need ASL, they need ASL, I get that. If they can't function w/ a SEE or PSE interpreter, by all means,
ScrewNikki -- I think your assessment of her is a bit harsh. She does have good intentions for our community. She is trying to make change, in her way, quietly, locally. This is fine -- we all need to work locally as well as globally.
Nikki is nothing but a trouble maker. She knows it, her kids know it, and the community knows it. She's sneaky and two-faced. She acts like she's got good intentions, but she doesn't. She likes to be the big dog being followed by little puppy dogs. She's making the deaf community look bad and she's causing hearing people who work with the Deaf avoid her and her family. Who would want to interpret for her or her kids? Who would want to work with any parent like her? She just makes us all bitter.
Good vlog! I agree that we all work together on Deaf students' education, goal, vision and philosophy. We also need to work on in educating them to hire Deaf educators due to role model and able to simulate Deaf students' intelligence. I am happy to join and work with you all because it is fact that I have a discrimination case against one school district.
Excellent. It is the only way forward, when people with differing philosophies are able to put their differences aside and work together for the children's benefit.
