  • thanks man!

  • right in tool

  • Regardless of any lyrical mistakes that might have been made, sinzorak did something that I, and others have not attempted. That is to make a video. So I applaud him/her for their hard work. Keep it up so people such as myself, and others can have a video to enjoy. To all those super-anal critics; Just stop it, and move along please.

  • Stupid monkeys....

  • This song good very well relate to the tragedy of sierre leone

  • Comment removed

  • humans are sophisticated animals that are in a constant upward battle for perfection and dominance... a smarter monkey (am i right or what?)

  • Mikekarrosdrum that is what the song is about just listen to it

  • Can i make this my homepage?

  • @OMARANT100 yep, copy the URL and then open tools, internet options, and then paster it where it is highlighted

  • Its interesting, people can comment on what lyrics say and go back and forth, most peoples interpretations make sense one way or another. Its reminds me of the arguement for Stinkfist. Is it just about anal fisting..........come on. Some meanings are so simple. Stinkfist is about addiction, this song is about mans stupidity and our appitite for taking what is not ours to begin with. As far as the #1 comment on this video, thanks for the correction, but does it really matter that much?

  • @dannyingram29 if you transcribed the lyrics incorrectly for maynard and he told you they were wrong...would you say to him "does it really matter that much?". something tells me no.

  • @aicxiii Id tell him thanks, then get him extremely baked on some killa Oregon weed and ask about the lyrics again.

  • ron paul 2012

  • Actually it's "cut and divide it all right in two".. :)

  • The lyrics seem to describe the generalization of our human existence

  • your lyrics suck! check out toolshed for legit wording! BK

  • bk means bad kid in case u didn't know

  • Comment removed

  • i was listening to this sond in my living room and my gf walked im the house and told me to turn this shit off... were not together anymore

  • @justicemom100 why can`t you leave a nice and original com ? aren`t u tired of shit coms that are the same with the ones from slipknot or beyonce? >.>

  • I feel like this often. I dunno how one person can be involved in so many traumatic events and still be relatively the same core entity.

  • TOOL <3

  • who did tool steal this from?

  • @neddiboo King Crimson

  • this is exactly how I felt after coming back from the war

the suffering, the lifelong scarring battles, the resources mankind is wasting on killing one another, I never hated a fellow human being, I am a good honest person yet also a cold blooded murderer by law, why must we live that way? I never had enemies, I never wanted to have any enemies, why must we all have that stereotype badguy?

this planet seems lost to me at times, but I'm doing my best to make it better, hope that you do too

  • he either says guide it all right in two or cut it all right in two

  • Duh that's what it means

  • I believe hes singing about the carnal nature of man, we have the tools to cooperate and live in peace on the earth however we can't seem to manage it.. well thats my interpretation, still an amazing song can't stop listening to it.

  • I think, even though religion is a solid base off of which this song springs, the core discussion Manyard is singing about is the hypocracy of some of the people that follow certain religions. If they listened solely to the religion, there wouldn't be many problems, but then again... we wouldn't have any Tool. :)

  • isn't this one of the songs that have no official lyrics?

  • for our rising

  • amazing ideas written into lyrics this.. viva Tool!

  • It's "Gotta divide it right in two"

  • This music is not to make you choose sides, but to open your mind to choose right...

  • @cali95676

Tool is one of the few bands that are not on itunes. I'm pretty sure A Perfect Circle and Puscifer are on itunes, but still no Tool. I don't think Tool is an independent band, I believe they are still on volcano/zoo. No? I've been known to be incorrect in the past, so I'm not %100 sure... But I'm pretty sure. I am not sure why, but I do know they are not on itunes.

  • Can anyone tell me why I can't find Tool or this song on ITunes???? It's driving me insane.

  • @Cali95676 because tbtb don't want you united

  • @Cali95676 I think it might have to do with the fact that tool is independent, but just so you know the president of the United States Of America has just passed a bill saying that any existing authority can detain you forever, FOR NOTHING. this has nothing to do with anything but if you haven't heard about this then they have succeeded in "dumbing" us down to the point where they can pass anything they want with no one noticing. Please fight for your country. it needs you now more then ever.

  • @fecism1 another retarded conspiracy theorist who makes all tool fans look like acid junkies

  • @colonelsanta this isn't a conspiracy. This has been signed into martial Law. If you think I'm lying look it up. Anyone can be detained U.S. citizen or not. Obama admits to signing the document. only 3 congress men objected the bill. you don't have to believe me but just know this; this is not a theory and this is not fiction, it is fact. We are at a dark time and people are just now starting to realize just how fucked we really are.

  • @Cali95676 because itunes sucks dick

  • Beautiful, Awesome.

    Thanks uploader.

  • I like how everyone here loves this song, and thinks it's so great, but I bet all of you have chosen a side in the Gaza Strip conflict.. when there really isn't any need for them to be fighting at all. They are fighting over the Holy Land.. but the land is just dirt... what made it holy was the men who lived on it. Why kill over who owns the dirt? Dirt is dirt.

  • Awesome song. I get to see them again on jan 25 2012 at the Air Canada Centre

  • This song has such a philosofic meaning to it makes me analise my own existince

  • Maynard, air and water... my most basic needs :)

  • My media class made a video about drunk driving using this song. Very epic, very perfect, and very incredible piece of music.

  • Monkey killin monkey killin monkey

    over pieces of the ground

    silly monkeys, give them thumbs

they make a club and beat their brother down

  • GJ

  • It's not "cut it all" or whatever, it's "Gotta divide it all right in two." Also, it's "Benched along with patience and reason." But I love you for trying and I thank you , fellow Tool fan!

  • @ItchyThaKiller actually the first time he says it, in he same chorus, he says "Cutting all they know right in two" and the 2nd time he says it, same chorus, he says "Gotta divide it all right in two"

  • @ItchyThaKiller If u listen to the live versions it sounds like hes saying guide it all right in two. its a one syllable word tho for sure.

  • @ItchyThaKiller If you listen to the yell at the end, you can hear him emphasizing "CUT it right all, right in two".

  • @ItchyThaKiller lol love your movie brother!!!!!

  • @ItchyThaKiller shoot I always heard it as "cut it all right in two" :p

  • This song is about nigs and how much they stink

  • tool is the ONE band that has succesfully made me cry to a song lol, and im proud to say i did to a tool song

  • im not religious but this song gives me the creeps.

  • for english class we had to write about a poet, and yes i wrote about maynard. my teacher said who is this? i pulled my ipod out and said listen, i played this song, automatically he gave me an A

  • @mxt238 seriously i think ur teacher is a total tank. Im jealous, my bitch english teacher would still fail me as she does...everyone....More evil, not bitchy. The point is that shed still allow me to write bout Maynard cuz hes a boss

  • @mxt238 My English would probably call TooL evil and kick me out of the class. Maynard will always be the best poet

@PS3gamerguide I cried when I heard this song too. This is one of TooL's most emotional songs, for me that is

  • if we as humons are so good why do we have adis and starving

  • @ukpunks2012 There is a demon inside u

  • The worlds coming to an end but who should give a flying fuck about that while listening to Tool!

  • Comment removed

  • Next time, Find the lyrics on Toolshed.

  • It's,"lift an eye to heaven," not live tonight in heaven.

  • Maynard's voice is really soothing. And that guitar is so simple yet.. I don't know it's hard to explain. It lulls me.

  • This isn't music. It's a spiritual experience.

  • @Drusus1840 natural LSD lmao

  • Fight till they die over sun, over sky,

They fight till they die over sea, over air,

They fight till they die over blood, over love,

They fight till they die over words, polarizing. he got that part completely wrong haha

  • This guy has a ton of the lyrics wrong haha what a dip shit

  • i have heard this song like 10 times today i fucking love tool

  • (3:38) "Gotta divide it all, Right In Two" Was what I found on some page - I knew it was wrong. It just din't fit in.

  • its amazing. the fact that we can even fathom eternity or life after death. its an absolute priviledge. fuck it being a blessing of god or a product of evoluton, its a priviledge first. some are without ability from birth or maybe hampered by incident. we all possess the most powerful and complicated thing in this universe, a brain. we all can reach the same ends of consciousness across the globe.... yet we are angered why another dosent believe what "we" beieve. why does it matter?

  • People can't even listen to a song about how they are divided without becoming divided.

  • Comment removed

  • @ramstones1 Can you elaborate?

  • @ramstones1 Because they are not paying attention.

  • I like how idiots blame everything on religion. Self-destruction is just human nature. People like that just prove it.

  • @APCFan227 Self-destruction is human nature, and they use religion as means to justify it.

  • @Roadiepat No, religion in its purest form is a means to try to escape it. For some reason humans just can't help but corrupt it.

  • Feel the power, the truth, nd wisedom that TOOL capture and create into a song.

TOOL are just that! A tool for my soul and conciousness.

    I LoVE them. 4eva.

  • They're all geniuses. This song is perfect in every way. Maynard, Adam, Justin and Danny are ALL at their best here. I'd be content if no song composed in the future was as good as this. This song is that good.

  • Tool for the times

  • PERFECT SONG.

  • @7:11 "Benched along with patience and reason." But excellent work regardless.

  • God damn these lyrics are so powerful, but for some reason, it just makes me forget about everything and my mind goes blank, and I fucking love it. Fuck pills, this will do.

  • I me mine :)

  • 1.818 monkeys killing 21 monkey killing justin bieber monkey

    sad youtube system.

  • This is the most underrated Tool song created

  • hey i got an idea......lets all go blow our fucking brains out....if we are advanced as we believe we would see no reason not to

  • Cut it, divide it all right in two* just saying

  • 2000 years of christianity and we got in the end an army of sanctified rapists and criminals!

btw the indian tabla from around 4:33 sounds like the "semantron" used in my country (Romania) to call the prayers at monasteries and churches, search "Toaca" or go wikipedia. I don't think it's just a simple confusion. cool

  • @dreacul The song is about humans in general not religion. Theres not really anything wrong with religion by itself, but its just become another vehicle for the corrupt to exploit others and play on people's fears in order to obtain or retain power.

  • @Skinnyperegrine Yep, you're right! Peace!

  • @Skinnyperegrine religion is simply reassurance of life after death in order to calm the fear of humans, and their natural fear of death.

  • @Skinnyperegrine After George Ohsawa's arrival religion is no longer if ever needed.

  • great song , so true ... and somebody should make a music video with this song and some assassins creed footage it would be epic giving the story ... :D just a tought

  • We are all just alien cattle. That is the secret of our existence. Now go have fun.

  • I noticed around 7:16 or so you have "Been so long with patience and reason" Isn't it..."Benched along with patience and reason"? I dont want to start any conflict over this song but i was just curious. Maybe i should visit tool.shed.

  • Maynard is pure genius. A poet of old if I may.

  • @jimmymcpoot Maynard's a great signer but Adam and Danny really make the band. Maynard is not as much of a genius as them.

  • @hat6036 The lyrics engage the mind where the music engages the soul. This band would not have the pull without Maynard not just from a lyrical stand point but the vocal melodies and timing is pure genius and not to mention he uses his voice as well or better then most any other artist in the metal genre. Does he hit the highest notes? No. Does he have the scream of other rock artists? No. But he does use what he does have with near perfection. He is a genius. Not that the others aren't as much.

  • @ejflesher I never said Maynard was not a good singer. He is the best singer of all time, not just in the metal genre so fuck you. And also, I'm sick of mother fucking Tool fans that think Maynard is the greatest fucking person ever to exist. If Tool had no singer they would still be my favorite band. He does not make the band good.

  • @hat6036 Now now, no cause to be so sensitive. I know being in the minority (in thinking Maynard is just a fill in) is hard and makes a person insecure but I was just responding to public discourse (judging by your resorting to foul language I will explain, you say something on the internet and people say stuff back, another word for dialogue). If you lack the security and confidence for someone to say something to your post without wanting to slash your wrists may not want to post.

  • @jimmymcpoot oh you may, fuck yes you may

  • @jimmymcpoot It's not only Maynard. I honestly give credit to Adam, Justin, and Danny as well. If it wasn't for their amazing instrumental unison they really wouldn't be the Tool we all know and love.

  • @jimmymcpoot I'm sorry, you may not.

  • @jimmymcpoot U may Over and over. Took the words out of my mouth.. U can never go wrong with any TOOL song. Fan for life..!!!

  • I hate it that their lyrics is just so true: 'They make a club and beat their brother down': everyday somebody get's murdered somewhere in our world, 'how they survive so misguided is a mystery' they don't know what they are doing, they just do what they want, they think they are the best but they aren't, why are people so crewl for each other?

  • (Nine Circles In) HELLYEEAH!!! I have 666 and maybe 69 co workwer's Destructions to plan who knows maybe even 6923 more people IDK I could be wrong 69 more co workers ;)

  • whenever i play games i literally have a specific tool song to listen while i play. even the sad games have one, and when they have music i turn the music volume all the way down

  • I truly get goosebumbs everytime i hear this song. Effin amazing!!

  • Tool is on God's ipod

  • @TheIcefreeze But I don't own an iPod.

  • @TheIcefreeze correction god is a figure of our imaginations, no such being has ever presented itself.

  • @blazerdude89

Neither has an alien. Believe in them?

  • @blazerdude89 - do you see Tool as a statement of no god(s)? "give them thumbs, they forge a blade"

"Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here."

    "prying open my third eye."

Take the amazing CD case for "10,000 Days". Have you seen it? Figure out how to use the eye pieces to see the art work?

"Where there is one, you are bound to divide it, right in two."

Don't listen to Tool. Feel Tool.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheIcefreeze Tool isn't on iTunes... :(

  • @molesticles They're too good to be on iTunes

  • @booskers23 hell yeah itunes doesn't even deserve to sell tool.

  • @TheIcefreeze tool listen to their own songs ???

  • @TheIcefreeze

Too bad most of them are atheist.

  • @Missingee Which is great! They stopped believing in fairytales...

  • @TheIcefreeze Maynard is god.

  • @TheIcefreeze your fucking right it is man love it

  • love this song....love you maynardddddddddd

  • Tool is the band that every other band that ever was wishes they were.

  • Silly monkey man with your freewill and greedy five senses. Haven't you become wise to God's design yet. The dramatic dualistic colorful chaotic human experience with its moments of peace is really perfect in all its imperfection.

  • "Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability

to lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here"

    One of my favorite quotes of all time;

    from one of my favorite songs of all time;

by one of my favorite bands of all time!!!!

  • Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground.

  • "Don't this Chunky Monkey taste like heaven; There's enough to go around"

  • @HunkyTalkenMonkey01 you sir are incorect that line is nit in the song

  • @HunkyTalkenMonkey01 you sir are incorect that line is not in the song

  • @HunkyTalkenMonkey01 Oh...reary, well how come when I play this song in my mind's I-pod, I can hear this exact phrase?

  • Did I mention that my family is catholic and so I'm just trying to fit in... to both.

  • @TheSeventhSeal7

curtains. That's all I have to say.

  • They are the only ones who have eternal. Nobody else.

  • I'm not in it

  • Heal.

  • real funkin high

  • Hell is real. REAL.

  • Happy Birthday!!!!

  • WRONG LYRICS DUDE ~~~

"Fight till they die over sun, over sky,

They fight till they die over sea, over air,

They fight till they die over blood, over love,

They fight till they die over words, polarizing."

  • Three of Swords; cut it right in the heart, right in two, right in the center of the heart.

  • @TheSeventhSeal7 lol yea, neat'o

  • father blessed them all with reason and this is what they choose..... hmmm.

  • omg, is this a quote from "Twilight" or something ..... just kidding; I was merely trying to point that the lyrics might be wrong here, that's all.

  • buried ritual, this is true, afterlife doesnt seem to work for everyone, but gets 2 kinds of competitors seeing two sides and the affects are the same but feels different to everyones EGO, see how it seems alien to question rules and guidance, my cats are fine without communication, they do as they please! :P

  • This song hits the nail on the head. Human nature tends to destroy itself with every chance it gets. "Give them thumbs, and they'll forge a blade".

  • ..... The ability to lift an eye to heaven , conscious of his fleeting time here ....

I believe these are the correct lyrics; also "live tonight in heaven" sounds like it's death..... ; ) ... in my opinion.

  • @bmarrero heaven is a being living a true moment on earth, living dead are in hell or on hard ground, heaven makes hell distant from ground perspective, like the eternal vampire of the empire leaving footsteps for the light to be seen in the dark, if you see a light from another its a gift to go with them in heaven, dont hope for blood or angels, its party time when heaven calls for the shadows to light up, but this is just my opinion from drugs :P

  • @chriswilliamstool it's time for you to leave the drugs be for a while...=)

  • @HunkyTalkenMonkey01 xD my badd :P

  • omg every time i hear this, the line "Repugant is a creature who would spuander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, concious of his fleeting time here", it makes me cry. :'(

  • best lyrics ever period!

  • Why is this song SO fucking good!?

  • Correction:

    It shouldn't be "more music"

It should be "More perfected Badass music"

  • Tool has been my favorite band for years and that will never change. This song is great in every way: Lyrics,Guitar,Drums,Bass all equally important.

  • @razer22222 i know thats what i love about tool other bands i listen to are all about guitar or vocals or somthing, but with tool, each one has there place and any of there songs would be incomplete without one of them.

  • You stupid monkeys
