  • i had a nightmare before where a really nice dream just kind of drained away and i was left in the middle of the street at night looking at the moon, and music really similar to the intro of this song started creeping in, the moon turned into a white skull kind of thing but not, and the skies had loadsa flashes of fucked up war footage and stuff coming up, needless to say, it was the most terrefying thing ive ever felt.. horrible but beautiful.

  • Good thing she left him

  • @Padarack1 why is it goog?

  • @marionpar

    goog?

  • @marionpar You can watch the movie, or listen to the all album of The Wall. It is like a story, after all. ;)

  • I can't remember this on my dad's The wall tape, haha.

  • I know this feeling to well. And i always get it from those i love most. Isnt life a funny thing?

  • @ImNotHighLoL913 agreed 10000%

  • Two words.......make it three......pink fucking floyd!

  • At 3.05...chills!

  • Seeing Roger Waters live tonight in sweden! :D

  • @1995chevrolet lucky

  • Haunting, in a good way.

  • man im glad that being 17, when i was like younger i was introduced to pink floyd instead of something like bieber.

  • Remember the flowers I sent ? I need you, baby, to put through a shredder in front of my friends.

  • The Walls is just PERFECT. Every song, all the punch line of that... Im 14 years old and this is my everyday song...

  • I cant think of anyone else's voice other than Roger Waters that can fit the concept and melody of this album

  • @mptsfcecsja

Well Bob Geldof did a fantastic job haha

  • this is the best way of using the word "Baby", not like that kid everyone is talking about does

  • i used to listen to this album all the time

  • one of the best songs on the album

  • i just love listening to this over and over again, its one of my favorites. the way it starts off with the heavy breathing, the echoes, the bittersweet of waters' lyrics, the way the drums come in and cue the speed up, gilmour calling... UGH! fucking geniuses

  • babe......................oooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhbabe.....................................................oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhbabe

  • running away

  • how could ya go?

  • of the road...remember the flowers i sent?

  • My kinda love song hehe

  • how could you go, when you know how I need you

  • if people know anything about this album they would know its about a struggling rockstar trying to come to grips with himself and his addiction to drugs roger water never exactly said what it was about completly but man say it was about syd barret and his addiction to acid before he was kicked out of the band...

  • @matthewegan55 no thats the what the movie is about. without seeing the movie u have no idea if its about a rockstar or not. u would think its an everyday person like u and me, which it is. theres so much more going here then drug use and if u cant see that u need to stop using drugs xD

  • @matthewegan55 no thats what the movie is about. without seeing the movie u have no idea if its about a rockstar or not. u would think its an everyday person like u and me, which it is. theres so much more going here then drug use and if u cant see that u need to stop using drugs xD

  • @googlestb well the rockstar thing is kinda implied in "One of my turns" with the girl saying "Are all these YOUR guitars?" and "Comfortably NUmb" with "that will keep you gion through the show."

  • everyone always talks about gilmour being under credited for the whole wall album. but what about richard wright? i personally think he is so forgotten on this album.

  • He's on the verge of ending it all...He's asking for help. Becoming totally disallusioned to reality, yet needing and asking for help....Been there...Done that.

  • @SuperLiftRick

You are right, Rick. That is what the song is about.

Sadly, though, he probably gave his wife many reasons to leave.

  • @SuperLiftRick that's what I was just thinking. if I was in a drunk ass stupor hopelessly depressed I could definitely end it to this song. classic.

  • nothing can compared to the feeling i get listening to this... nothing

  • @AntichristUtubeStar someone is a manson fan i presume

  • no it actualy happend i missed the like button AAAH OMG WHAT TO DO !!!! AAAH

  • @hockopper I'm afraid its too late to go back...

If I were you, i'd lose my mind and shave off my eyebrows with a razor blade.

  • I mean 3:05

  • That is an amazing transition at 3:25

  • Epic.......

  • I remember the first time I listened to this song. At first, I wasn't too into because the beginning was slow, but the lyrics is what kept me listening as I can relate. Then it gets to 3:07 and OMG! I was in music heaven! I just wish they would've made an extended version of this song. In fact, an extended version of this one and Goodbye Blue Skies would've been perfect...

  • awesome

  • always got the impression pink floyd were boring, i used to watch the film when i was like 2 but forgot bout it.. now i come back to it all and its like holy crap.. shivers n all sorts.

  • Thanks for the people who put the lyrics down the videos!!

  • Wonderfully, beautifully haunting. A Masterpiece.

  • This song = hauntingly beautiful.

  • I remember listening to this track (along with the whole album) alone in my dorm room while I was in college in 1987. True, it was a point of heavy self absorption, but at the same time it was awesome, especially while running a good buzz.

  • dark and beautiful

  • Even the first few seconds creep the hell out of me.

  • @thenewhandle how about welcome to the machine, or the first 90 seconds of shine on you crazy diamond.

  • Wow, these pieces strung together not only overwhelm the true, serious listener, yet amazes one with dramatic themes, melody and lyrics. Pink Floyd did it best.

  • A lot of this album is pretentious rubbish which has less to do with music and more with ego

  • @ThisGuysRetarded You know NOTHING about what views of mine people share and who are you to give me lessons on Pink Floyd ?, one of my favourite bands since 1969 ; where were YOU back THEN ?

  • @kenfig , Erm....... Oh sry i thought you where serious... Good luck mate :)

  • @DVSFS About WHAT ? ; i DONT like a lot of The Wall very much ; SOME tracks are good although with a lot of scrappy pretentious bitty pieces

  • @kenfig , Euu...... Okayy, i think its awesome all of the pieces..

  • 2 people thought it said "dis i like"

  • The notes throughout this song have a discord to it, which makes it artistic. I love how PF paints their music with emotion and puts our imagination into it. If you like PF then try out Alan Parsons Project. Alan Parsons produced a couple of PF albums. Enjoy.=o)

  • One of the most emotional songs. It perfectly describes the torture of losing someone you love.

  • 2 people are braindead motherfuckers

  • @RATMAudioslaveJunky lol nice

  • This song gives me chills and makes my heart stop. I breath with it. Best feeling ever.

  • The Wall is the best album I've ever heard. I can just listen to it for days on end.

  • its just builds up and then it hits with 3:07

  • Fucking bad ass every time I hear it.Awsome.

  • Who is stupid that clicked on "dislike"? Hahahaha...

  • Better than grandma's pancakes

  • @chubbychad LOL good one!

  • i never liked thissong till today when i felt like this

  • i believe that they utilised Brain detecting brainemotion machine to do him music.

it's impossible for a human to have so much genius

  • wonderful song

  • what a fucking trip. the balls to write these lyrics and to sing in a unique tormented style,

  • i like the transition from this song into ABITW part 3, ooooooooOOOOOHH HOO OOOHH!

  • 3:07 is epic

  • Thanks for posting the whole album. It seems that every time I get it people steal it. Can't blame them. It is too good!

  • Ah, the Final Cut... a Roger Waters solo album with backing music my Dave and Nick from Pink Floyd!

  • actually I find the 3:46 transition as one of the smartest and heart relief ones

  • It was myself, george mcchesny, rob mills and my brother john hill. Timeless music!!!! I used to trip my nuts off back in the day listening to floyd.... GOD BLESS THE WALL!!! trippin in the late 80's and early 90's. this album helped the ride.

  • this is the biginig and the end of all the ralations fools and loosssssssss!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is probably as close as they'll ever get to a romantic song.

  • @Pakun Are you kidding? Haven't you ever heard of Pigs on the Wing Pt. 1 & 2?

  • @thelonemayoman , Actually i think this is the best and most poweful song of em all... Pigs on the wing parts 1 & 2 are awesome thought, im learning them on the guitar

  • @Pakun Pigs on the Wing are both pure & simple love songs and they bookend Animals which is kind of funny considering how dark and bleak the rest of Animals is

  • yeah they got the band name from some old jazz musicians they were fans of

  • @royalnash blues musicians but who's counting

  • Even this song is perfect

  • Pink is a jazz musician and floyd is another jazz musician and they combined those to make ...tahhh dahh

  • My boyfriend just broke up with me and all I could think of was the three first lines of this song...

  • @MusicAgain he's a loser... go ahead!

  • Sorry to hear that my friend. At least you have some good music here to listen to. It'll get better for you, I promise.

  • the same happens to me...I know how you feel!!

  • none EVER!

  • Best band ever. No one will ever sound anything like them.

  • the sustain and tone starting at 3:07 ...simply amazing

  • Pink Floyd is his own genre! And it's the best genre of music! Pink Floyd number one!

  • @AnasAlex10 YEAH! I don't understand how it is classified as rock. It should be classified as Pink or Floyd.

  • Or both...?

  • Pink Floyd isn't a person. :P

  • @lbbic in the movie.. obviously not really.. that's why they call it fiction lol

  • @lbbic damn im stupid.. didnt realize what the other person said.. lmao my bad

  • i'm damaged from drugs, this song helps

  • the smoothe eco ey feel is definatly what makes this song so trippy

  • dysthymia disorder sux D:

  • I knew after I heard the last song on this album that Pink Floyd was spliting up.

  • @justkevy this wasnt their last album. They put out the Final Cut after this album. but they might as well have split up

  • @yungnome well they did actually, final cut was an obligatory release hence why they used The Wall leftovers. They were done after this record.

  • ... Why the fuck do men allow women to have that much CONTROL over them?

  • @Belphu5 mean to offend anyone

  • This song best exemplifies "pink's deterioration. At this point, he is so isolated and feeling the pain of one his many bricks (this one being his unfaithful significant other's rejection of him). This song is also really effective at conveying how badly damaged he is from drugs. The echoes, discord, and deliberate slow intense breaths paint a picture of him sitting there. Then there's the distant voice in his head pleading with his significant other to not leave although she has long left him.

  • as simple as... best band ever to exist.

  • u have to have felt this pain / situation

he must have had alot of ups and downs

    repeated the same bad behavior

    live and learn

  • ahh the joy of melancholy...no one does it quite like Roger.

  • he is a fucking genius. i love that son of a bitch

  • 4:08 to 4:12, Chick Hearn calling the Lakers game! Miss you Chickie. RIP

  • this song is hella trippy but sick

  • This song is no where near trippy.

  • What bothers me is up to the last why are you running away ooooh babe, they have the guitar singer cassette tape off or turned down.Listen to it,the voice is distant, next to the piano cassette tape

  • The transition of the song at 3:07 makes my heart ache

  • yeah, it has a similar effect on me too :P

  • @DizzyKitsune You've probraly already did. But if not, watch the actual clip of this song with the transition on 3:07. If wou heart aches now, you will die watching the clip. Goodbye, nice knowing you!!! hehehe

  • @DizzyKitsune man i know what ur sayin

  • @DizzyKitsune It is the unbelievable beautiful transitions that I know are going to happen in some of their songs that other wise I might have given up on.

  • This feels like a song to get high to.

  • This song used to eff me up so much.

  • This is one of my favourite parts off of The Wall. He is just on his own in his room then it changes to him in a cartoon world. Crazy shit and the effects for such an old film in immence.

  • hey my bad man, i thumbs downed one of your comments when i ment to thumbs it up, sorry about that derbydamon93 <:)

  • MUY BUENO ESTE ALBUN

  • º°¨„ø¤º°¨°º¤ø„¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ º¤ø„¸

    ¨°º¤ø„ ¸ PINK FLOYD FOREVER!! º¤ø„,

    ¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º „¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ ¸„ø¤º „¸¨° from Conroe Texas

  • I love the scream at the end... it sounds so... true.

  • I think the scream at the beginning of 'Breathe' is better. Still awesome though (obviously)!

    =]

  • OK,#1 -its a paper shredder.If # 2 is then easy beat the potato to a pulp.Thank you all,bye

  • this is wrong, u are wrong he was right u dont know the true music, dont worry about mistakes just listen to the magic

  • shadylova13,Don't leave me now is not what you write.I have a personal opinion and its worth far much more than your redundant jargon. This is a symbol of true feelings not idiot interest.

  • 3:06 and up is awesome.

  • dont leave me now, my life has turned into shit

  • hes just + crying cause his wife left him cause he treats her like shit bcause hes fuc*ed up thats all ....wtf nothing complicated about that

  • wats even worse is that we start to see the tragic flaws from his mother evidenced in his own being for the first time here....he begins to call his wife by, "OOO BABE," which is what his mother calls him earlier in the album in "The Thin Ice," and "Mother." Pink even goes as far as suggesting he put his wife in the "shredder," which refers to his grade school days where teachers attempted to squash individuality by putting all children thru a meat shredder to come out the same..

  • pure pink floyd at its best..one of the most depressing pieces of the album yet crucial to the developemt of the metaphorical wall itself..having endured the stresses of an overbearing mother, pink has been rendered incapable of connecting with a woman on a genuine romantic level...antebusxoxo is exactly right..pink (who is based on roger waters) has vibrant emotions and wants to love someone, yet simply does not know how and, for that reason, does not kno why his wife is running away....tragic

  • wasn't the 'pink' character based on syd?

  • waters

  • I heard on a documentary the story touches on almost every member (or once a member) of the band.

  • pink is based on roger waters, but I think they got the idea of shaving his eyebrows and hair off, from syd. because during the recording of wish you were here syd showed up like that. Roger Waters cried when he saw him.....

  • A combination of both, Waters and his Dad issues I think, and Syd with his schizophrenia. I remember watching a program on it but now I can't remember fully. And of course I'm talking about the album before it was a movie, lol. People make different inferences after watching the movie I think.

  • The album "The Wall" was based on Waters with fragments of Syd's life time tied into it.

  • The album is obviously dealing with mental health of Waters, as "Dark Side of the Moon" does, but this album is much darker. It's mostly about Waters and his bipolar disorder (clear within the musical tones) and also Barrett's schizophrenia.

  • but it also deals with waters life it self. he lost his dad in a war too. that's where he got the inspiration for the album.

  • the song is so cool but the guitar captures the feeling too wow amazing

  • explain this please?.!

  • It's a song about codependece on a lover. He's basically begging her not to leave him.

  • if you listen to the entire the Wall album, and or watch the music video, you'll see the entire collection is actually the story and progression of one very disturbed individual' life... it's sad, but truly amazing XD this moment of depression is just a tiny snippit of it all, that's all XD right now, she left him because he's not a very good husband, (really, he's not), and its unclear if he knows that though,so he doesn't know exactly why she left...

  • its a movie... the wall .. look it up watch it
