When I first heard this in the 80s, I was so amazed I burst out laughing despite the grim subject matter. I think it was the 'oh no' repeat that got me going.
Great video mate. Just need to edit the title and omit Coldcut.
Still got two copies of the 7" which came free with NME magazine seen as it could not be released. When I last checked about 15 or so years ago, it was worth £50.
Excellent work! Always loved this track, especially the tiny details like putting Queen's 'Flash!' under Walter Cronkite's dialogue to emphasise it, but the one I like most is the honky-tonk piano version of 'Yellow Rose Of Texas' underneath the ''Ruby came from Texas.'' line. Superb.
What a classic, breakthrough brilliant composition, from the early days of sampling. Should be taught in music theory classes. Hey, love the video, fits like a glove.
Thanks Ted! I loved this track along with white kross-sonic youth on the NME ep. I played it often although my Ma wasn't amused! Haha! That 7" was EATEN by my friends Jason and Alex as it wasn't by Iron Maiden. Brilliant upload Cheers!
You are right. I believe it was from an e.p that contained cuts from both artists. Coldcut had some legal wrangles going on at the time. I submitted their name on the track as that was what i believed then, having not heard the track for a long time. My main interest is the video. I dont know if their was ever a video for the track at the time,so i have made one myself.
excellent video!!!

And there was me thinking that JFK's assasination was all part of a Communist plot to flood America with Marijuanna.......Oh well, live and learn!

Can the Coldcut reference in the title be removed?

Certainly one of the more curious takes on Mr. Cronkite's legacy; R.I.P. Uncle Walter...

This video is brilliant, the perfectionism shines through to those of us who have ever edited anything.
Great job.

You can change the title (and remove Coldcut's name for accuracy's sake) by going into the video edit option.
