@InsanePickle007 Demon's souls is most of this. Although you don't control sheild with the left stick and sword with the right, that would be wonky and awkward. Try looking up Die by the Sword if you want wonky combat.

I was looking at buying the Witcher since the Fable series has gotten so stale, but this looks a lot more like the kind of fantasy action/rpg game I'm looking for. Hopefully the story and other features wind up being as good as the action and graphics look.

Mr Rolston seems comically unaware that Dragon Age: Origins already did what he's talking about to a considerably extent. Dragon Age 2 and Fable 2-3 did it to an even greater extent...but at that point lot of people (myself somewhat included) felt the "cool action" came at the expense of the "RPG" elements.

Also, someone with a background in Dungeons & Dragons should know that there's nothing abstract the beauty that is 4x backstab damage - even without silly Matrix-like animations...

@Demiath what the gameplay? da:o had bland gameplay, da2 had more interactive more actiony gameplay but it was repetitive and i stopped being impressed after a couple of heroes. when it comes to fable 2 and 3 i doubt they will have the debt that this games has, and considering those games are incredibly easy accomplishing anything isnt rewarding.

@g5icleb While I disagree about DA:O's gameplay being "bland" (it wasn't as good as Baldur's Gate, but it still had a more meaningful combat system than most modern RPGs), I think you yourself hint at the potential problems with Kingdoms of Alamur merely by pointing out where all other similar games went wrong. It's way easier to create a rewarding RPG that's primarily tactical in nature with methodical pacing than it is to make it action-packed while still not repetitive and/or just plain dumb.
