My kids Ashley and Jacob are in this video. I lost my rights to them due to the fact I was drug addicted over half my life. I have been set free and no longer use any substances today . I am going to school and am working as a staff in a recovery treatment facility. The pain of my consequences are always a daily struggle. I have found only one answer to help me carry on and His name is Jesus.

Thanks for the tears, lol. This is an amazing story, I believe its so important to adopt , especially within our own country. So many american children are homeless and without family to call their own. Every parent is a hero, but a parent who adopts, is a SUPER HERO!!!

great video. but the other side of the story should be told too. i've had a completed homestudy for several months with the intent to adopt a child of color, but no match. more funds needed to deal with the caseworkers' backlogs.

I'm sobbing. I was in a Hallmark movie about adoption this Christmas and now I'm very, very proud. Michael's music opens the heart; he has magic. God bless you Michael and all children. Many adopted kids in my extended family- may there be more.

I love this--what an inspiring story! I hadn't heard of Michael Franti before, but one of my friends, who was adopted as a small girl, shared this video clip with me. As an adoptive parent of two children from the foster-care system, I hope that more people hear Michael Franti's positive, hopeful music and are inspired themselves to look into adopting foster children. :)
