They're not insane -- it is filled with distracting intonation issues, which are more exposed b/c the song is being performed a capella. She's still a great artist, which the mastered version more clearly reflected. It's too bad, really.

its the software used to make this video. Other recordings of this performance were in key. This one is very sub-par.

She's using an Electrix Repeater. The version she is using has been discontinued, but they're releasing a new one in 2008 apparently. You can find 'em on ebay occasionally.

They have four 'tracks', and she recorded the bass/claps on one, then the chorusy 'just for now bits' on another, then turns the tracks down or up depending on the part of the song she's in.

She's just so pure and unique,

which is truly hard to find in this day and age.

Her voice live, especially during this song is amazing, it's beautiful, and true.

It's very comforting to listen to a song off of her album knowing that she can do it even better live, unlike a lot of music artists today.

Her lyrics for this song are just brilliant.

She captures absolutely the air and atmosphere of a dysfunctional family around the holidays.

The problem with the album version is that there is too much music to the side of her singing that gets in the way of her really amazing voice. Hearing her sing it completely accapella is amazing because you get to hear her voice more clearly.
