  • looks incredible, but also looks more like san diego than buffalo.... they should transform the canals into skating and pick up hockey rinks for the winter. that will bring people down there. plus sabres games would generate crowds.

ill believe it when i see it i guess...

whats the progress been on the skateboard/bmx plaza underneath the 190 by the old aud? they really should make a nice skatepark downtown. there would be people there all the time

  • Wait a minute...

Hasn't Bass Pro already said that they're NOT coming to Buffalo?

  • I'd like to know how they plan on getting all these retailers to fill these many spaces? For YEARS, We've been trying to get retailers back downtown (Main Street) and have only seen the few that we had Leave. So how will this work? Do we have commitmet from any national retailer besides Bass Pro yet?

  • They have to do this the correct way. If they have a few anchor stores it'll probably work. The main reason so many stores have migrated away from Main st. is because there are no anchors and no road access.

  • I'm just worried that the developers are only hoping that by having Bass Pro that they can lure major retailers instead of trying to sell them to the area NOW.

  • Looks good. But I'd like to see 2 things changed. Get rid of that elevated highway, it takes away from the whole concept. Also, how about a few more trees scattered about?

  • the "elevated highway" is not going anywhere unfortunately. and trust me, everyone in buffalo would like to see it go, but its not gonna happen.

  • Luv it, but it reminds me of the outdoor malls you see all over Cali. Do we have any national retailers and restaurants on the plate for this already or are we going to build it and THEN try to lure them in? I hope the people in charge are getting signed deals from other names besides Bass Pro.

  • outdoor malls work in Cali because the average temperature is 70 degrees. this place will be uninhabitable 6 months out of the year.

  • New downtown Christmas Tree,

    Ice rinks on Canals

    National ice sculpting competitions

    Ice hockey

Giant outdoor fireplaces scattered throughout the project.

    ...So much more!!!

DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SYA IT WILL BE "Uninhabitable" for 6 months of the year. The whole reason was to make this a destination for everyone- all year round.

  • i did some research today as i walked from the ellicott square building to one hsbc center. did you happen to be down there this afternoon? as long as the ice rinks, christmas tree, and national ice sculpting competitions are inside we'll be fine. maybe i'm alone here, but the pain i felt in my eyeballs from the wind and cold made it difficult to walk five blocks, let alone stand outside and admire a christmas tree.

  • cant wait to see this completed. hell i cant even wait to see the progression of this project
