  • beautiful voice :)

  • What a nice voice has harry!

  • Tom Dick and Harry *Groans*

Ok now that that is out of my system, fantastic vid.

  • I own this DVD set. This episode, which featured Cass Elliot as well as Harry Belafonte, is one of the standouts in the series. Wonderful music. The Smothers Brothers at their best.

  • Sure passed a lotta law since then...

  • i love the smothers brothers; great idea to put them together with harry; incidentally, do you have that song harry sings after this, i think it's called if it were only yesterday? I don't like the song, but I love the way he does it

  • It's written by Gordon Lightfoot. It's called "Song for a Winter's Night". And, yes, Harry's version is by far the best.

  • Great stuff! All three can sing, and the rapport is choice!

  • 0.11, he seems so angry lol

  • this very uplifting

  • Finally, Tom, Dick, and Harry together. LOL

  • Lordy, this song and rendition are uplifting, sweet, hopefull and reignites the mission.

  • wow, how much i love Harry Belafonte. His voice is sweeet!

  • He's not a bad actor either. He plays a mobster with a nasal discharge problem in Uptown Saturday Night.

  • AWESOME CORNY AND GOOD AND FUNNY

  • very good black and withe

  • This is SO MANY times better then anything on television today.

  • @nestreblig

LOL YEAH!!They're better than any Tom, Dick, and Harry they let on T.V now XD! I wanna shoot myself in the face whenever I hear something about the Kardashians or Snooki -_-' OMFG &what's up with the news?? I'm sure like at least 12 people were brutally murdered, there's a WAR going on, the oil spill isn't 100% cleaned up, the climate has gone coo coo wacky and makes u wonder if the world is gonna end soon x_x BUT somehow the news talks about Lindsey Lohan & Paris Hilton 24/7 O_O?

  • excellant.bravo

  • which one can say, marvelously, congratulates you, thank you:))

  • The song is actually called "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free." It was written by jazz pianist Billy Taylor and Dick Dallas and originally recorded by Nina Simone. Other excellent recordings are by Ray Charles, Solomon Burke and Swedish singer Doris Svensson (although I think any recording would be amazing).

  • Thanks for the info. I tried to correct the title but it's too long for Youtube so I had to shorten it a bit.

  • :) I actually came to know this song by Lighthouse Family's version!

It's a great cover as well as those which you mentioned, and includes a piece of U2's One song.

    I loved Belafonte's version.

  • but can you tell me where can I find ray charles version? can't find it on google!

  • @Gorky83 Mary Travers did a great version on her solo album "Mary"

  • Such a very talented, very handsome, man who has done so much for those disenfranchised...We can learn so much from you. Thank you sooo very much Mr. Belafonte. I'd love to see and hear you sing again.

  • awesome!!!

  • I have been sitting here tonight listening to all the Harry Belafonte clips - just wonderful! I loved Harry Belafonte - still do! Give us more!

  • Awesome

  • I watched this 3 times in a row. Very nice and uplifting indeed. Thanks for sharing it!

  • hi, so send it for our pleasure now, that Harry Belafonte retired from the entertainment business, please! Wolf Burger, Grmany

  • I was wondering if anyone had Harry Belafonte's solo performance on the Smothers Brothers, which includes the whole entire clip of him singing two songs; the second of which is the whole version of his song "Don't Stop the Carnival". I would greatly appreciate it if it can be posted on here. Thank you for your consideration.

  • I have another clip of him doing Gordon Lightfoot's "Song For A Winter Night". Alas, I do not have the one you mentioned.

  • @2old2Rock CBS had censored Belafonte song from airing, (the episode in which he plays with Mama Cass in a Bonanza clip) felt it was too controversial at the time. CBS ended up firing the Smothers Brothers...those were the times!

  • @2old2Rock You do? I don't see it posted on your channel page. I saw the DVD of the show and loved him singing that song and others. Did you post it and I missed it?

  • @2old2Rock I am referring to "Song For A Winter Night."

  • @RCBIFE I can't find it on youtube but it is on the smothers brothers dvd. I had the disc of Harry on it for a month from netflix. I am now going to buy the smothers brothers season just for the performance!

  • This is a GREAT ciip of 'Tom, Dick and Harry'!! Thanks for posting that!!
