  • @MegaTrainspotter

ah yes. he pours his heart out here.

  • @MegaTrainspotter Right ;-)

  • What exactly happened in the front row

  • sometimes people criticise bono and ask me why I like him but all I need to do to explain why i love him is show them this video. Stunning

  • OMG that voice is a gift from god, U2 are the greast band in the world...........

  • The best version ever..two times have the same sensation, joy to have in front the best band in the earth, lucky people to have the privilege be there

  • God bless you!

  • I've got three simple words for this video... what a voice!

  • better quality ,adam singing cool.great brilliant

  • Musica mais que linda U2 em paris.....

  • Wonderful voice!

  • some of it was an allusion to Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart, but the other lyrics was ad-libbed by Bono. truly inspiring

  • 6:15 What a bass entrance !

  • je recherche le dvd de ce concert !!!! quelqu'un à des infos, merci !!!

  • Have you got C'Mon Everybody from this concert ?

  • hard to reach the climax of a song, bring it to a total stop, preach the audience, ending with genious immortal phrase (enough tears), get up in the horse again, climax the song a second time... sing that beautiful verse about paris and make history having people watching what happen on youtube 23 years later posting opinions on how amazing it was and how unique this version is...

  • *-*

  • cause no body hurt at the u2 concert's.... this is a real u2!

  • When he stopped in the middle of the song you can tell he was rattled...sure the rest of the song was powerful but he was pissed. His vocals are so good during this era...I also really dig the Edge's black Strat..does he still have it..?

  • En1987 ya pintaban para ser los mas grandes

  • totalmente

  • En 1987 se hicieron los más grandes... del momento.

  • He should not dance lol

  • u2 at their best.thanks.

  • Right!

  • caraca vey muito bom ! éssa musica é LINDA DE +

  • this one brings me to tears..

one of the best versions - very strong, there is so much love in it.

  • 10/10!!! awesome!!!

  • Hammer!!!!!!!!!

  • So powerful!

  • Bono strongly felt his verses...he describes his trip throu Paris, city of love, an allegorical feature to indicate his true love, in fact he sings "i knew that summer had arrived...when i saw your eyes" he saw the one he loves and he knew...amzaing poetry...Ovidious' amores' extreme summary..U2 best of best *_*

  • BEST VERSION EVER

  • "I was strolling down this Paris way, i walked through the streets in the light of the day and knew that summer had arrived, when I saw your eyes, when I see you. Well i hope that it was good - as it was good for me if it was good for you, then it was good for me."

  • Beautiful poetry - it is magical moments like this in music that sets bands heads and shoulders above all others...and, as we age in life, look back upon and shed a tear. Just step back a moment and think about the soundtrack of your lifetime - I guarantee a lot of us will have at least one song from U2 that will take us back to a special time and place that still is part of who we are today...this is one for me and no one can ever take it away.

  • yeah

  • @ptitpraince what song is this from?????

  • @camboy38 I think Bono wrote the lyrics

  • Is it just me - or does the entire band seem completely as one...total harmony. The Edge does not miss a single delay-soaked haunting note...Bono is not "bubbly", but singing with utter passion and happiness. He is in Paris - the city of love, and is clearly enveloped in the moment. "Love Will Tear Us Apart...Again" and then his short poem about walking in the streets and having a vision of romance. I have been blessed to have walked thru the streets of Paris with the one I love, so I know...

  • One of the greatest performances of one of the best songs ever written...love the Joy Division interlude...this is U2 at their absolute pinnacle. Bono sang with such amazing strength and conviction - fearless and poetic. The guitar tone by the Edge is fucking epic. Mullen Jr. and Clayton lay down an absolutely tight and mesmerizing rhythm. The tear gas makes it all that much more memorable...and meaningful. I have the Syracuse performance (with Bono's arm in a sling) - great as well...

  • glaub, zu der kapelle muß man nichts sagen. der song ist kult und wird noch in 100jahren zu den meisterwerken gehören. dann steht bono gleich hinter bach im musiklexikon ;-)

  • it wasn't tear-gas but bono thought it was until edge explained otherwise.

  • edge came up to bono before bono mentioned the tear gas.

  • i love U2 and i love their passion awesome band always !!!!!!!!!

  • HE

This DVD is in Black N With :O

  • Isso é banda, o resto é experiência de sonora

  • OK that restart was BADASS!!

  • god what a voice

  • nossa o bono ta malhadão!!!!

  • "i knew that summer had arrived...when i saw your eyes". thats great. where does bono come up with this stuff

  • joy division

  • lol

  • That little thing we call heart (L)

  • Greatttt Bono!

  • adam background vocals he must feel brave the dude

  • yeah, you're right. i've never heard him sing before, either live or on albums (talking on endless deep and your blue room doesn't count)

  • what's exactly happened at 5:20 ?

  • It was a hot night, and security was hosing down the crowd to keep them cool. Bono thought it was tear gas, so he stopped the song. Edge explained that it was water, so they started up again...

  • NO it was tear gas ;)

  • Look at 6:19 .... the comeback of Larry Mullen Jr. with drums . Listen to the smashing beats . Wonderful

  • what the hell happend in the crowd

  • in the radio I heard a life version of this song where at the 'wohoooo' part the audience sang the second wohoooo..

So I came to them today and so of course I'm not really into them.. so I have to ask the fans: is this version up on youtube anywhere?

would be nice if you answer back.

    This song is really good.

  • It's probably the cut from Milan in '05. You can find it on the bonus DVD in the deluxe edition of U218 or download it off iTunes.

  • If you haven't found that in the last seven months, my personal favorite part of that is the one at the super bowl in 2002. It's in the first page of search results.

  • Beautifully written classic from the best 80's band ever! Bono is one of the best bandleaders and songwriters of all time! I love his Ovation acoustic!

  • melhor musica do bono

  • Je ne me lasse pas de regarder ce live ! l'impro de Bono et du groupe après "l'incident" est absolument remarquable ! une des meilleures, sinon la meilleure version de "with or without you" !!!

  • what the fuck is this dvd ? where is it ? where can i buy it ? this is the first time ive heard this performance. My word

    Thanks for posting !

  • i got this dvd with the joshua tree 20th anniversary box set. its a fantastic set absolutely worth your money for the cd, dvd, book etc.

  • this is amazing <3

  • cut the i love u2 bull for a minute bono sounds awful on the Syracuse show near unbearable. la is a little better

its rather well known bono was losing his voice on this and the love town tour

i been a bootleg collector for over 20 years so really in a good position to say

this show is awesome though as its early in the tour

i been listening to u2 before you where born if you want to hear bono at his best buy the live at redrocks dvd next month then post back

  • Despite Bono losing his voice, he gives the chorus that octave yel to it on both of those versions, and they are still 2 among some of their best versions. In this one Bono seems bubbly and enthusiastic despite it supposedly being an emotional song, but that makes this one unique.

  • I think this show is pretty awesome bono looks like he is having alot of fun aswell

bono got all serious during this tour for some reason

  • Compare this version to Rattle and Hum version, this one he's like bubbly and having fun like you said. Rattle and Hum he seems robotic with his movements and all and is very serious like you say. Makes that one very good though as well.

  • Aint watched rattle and hum for quite some time tbh

i still live in hope they have a full recording of the show at the arizona stadium and that we get to see it

  • I have found a couple very rare live versions from the Joshua Tree Tour, but I have no idea where and when they would be but you can tell they are Joshua Tree era. I would hope more versions make there way on here over time.

  • Bono at his best was at his best during the Love Town tour mate. I'm sure you've heard the New Years Eve Point Depot show. Nothing get's better than that. Except maybe a couple of UF shows.

  • I've seen a bit of it, but unfortunately not much of the Lovetown tour is even on youtube, and most if it that is is not in great sound or picture quality.

  • Great performance. Great song. Great band. Have I said Great?

  • damn! what a strong voice! great performance!

  • thanks. Is there any other U2 Joshua Tree tour for download out there?

  • they is a few proshots 9/10/87 syracuse dome

    18/11/87 la

sadly bonos voice is shot on both he was awesome during the start of the tour

will be on a torrent site somewhere

  • his was shot on those two?? both of those were outstanding I thought if you're talking about the ones on here... Bono's voice is incredible on the Syracuse and LA videos of it...

  • Can I download this full concert from anywhere? OR do i have to buy the U2 remastered BOXSET?

  • buy it, youll appreciate it more

  • You can download the concert off iTunes as a single audio album, failing that you'd have to get the Box set. I'm sure you've probably realised this by now.
