Duhamel had open end straight draw so he had outs if he's behind.... the only thing thats confusing is said "you have tens and nines?... which tells me he know he's behind, then his call doesnt make sense, but your breakdown of this hand doesnt either. too many donks playing this game today.

You can actually see the exact moment his heart breaks at 3:21- the eyes pop out jaw drops eyes glaze over body slouches like he's been punched in the stomach and had heart ripped out Apocolypto style - he then bawls a bit goes through shock then disbeleif rage and then deep deep sadness his head spinning he even goes back maybe thinking it really didn't happen lol oh well that's poker

Great beat by the Canuck. Lucky as hell but that is part of winning this Tourney. The look on Affleck's face when that 8 flip will be one of the all-time classic moments in WSOP.

Matt shoulda 3-bet him or been all-in pre flop. Sorry, but that's what happens when you try to trap or slow play aces. The call pre-flop was his undoing. He should have shoved.

@Kroder You need to watch the hand again. Affleck DID 3-bet. Duhamel then 4-bet, probably because he didn't want to play out of position. Affleck called the 4-bet from the button. Affleck ended up getting his chips in the middle with about the same odds, 4-1, as he would have pre-flop, and there's a pretty good chance Duhamel would have folded to a pre-flop 5-bet all-in. So aside from the bad beat, Affleck couldn't have done any better.

@houndofzeus I watched it several times, it's on my DVR. I didn't mean 3-bet him initially. I meant after Donkhamel re-raised him with the 4 bet. At that point I would have shoved. But to each his own. I'd rather have him fold his JJ pre-flop and take down the pot AND most importantly, still be in the tourney than call and have him catch on me sending me to the rail.
