the way the do it it generally yes knot many rubber bands together to form a chain to make a ball , but yes they also make giant packaging rubber bands that can stretch 4-5 feet and still not be hardly stretched at all.

they make knots of smaller rubber bands to make them bigger to be able to fit it around it
