I have been to the High Heel Race on 17th Street a half dozen times and I have never been able to get there early enough to actually see the race! Even if you arrive an hour early the crowd is so massive that you can't see ANYTHING of the race for the crowd. So thank you for posting this! It is definitely the most fun event of the year in Washington DC. After the race the contestants hang around to let people photograph them and it is GREAT fun.
