You can always go the wired route or just install the wireless cameras in safe areas that don't reveal too much personal information. Certainly don't put one inside your house unless you're one of those people LOL.
Thanx for the vid lockergnome.I was just a victim with 2 others in my house and 30 other people on my block. All had our vehicles broken into and various things were stolen.Alot of stuff taken from the cars were spread out along the sides of the road.Same thing happened in the next town on the same night. No one has any video of the thieves.I will be installing as many cameras as i can on my property asap.Sometimes 1 frame of a vid is enough to catch someone when a 12 gauge cant :)

You wasted 47 percent of the video of yaketty yak, then went on the video with yaketty yak and all you had to say was about the IP address and price of the camera. What a waste of youtube HD space viewers time.
Why locate security cameras where others might benefit? Cameras monitor the exterior of house and garage, areas bad guys can already see. Since we're not going to stand around watching a monitor after entry is gained, no cameras are placed inside. Instead, we use motion dectectors with soft (so we can still hear), coded, tones to tell us roughly where the bad guy is. Our guns take care of the rest. Practiced the scenario many times.
Sadly, with the way things are, there really isn't much choice. Cops will arrive too late to do anything. That only leave us versus bad guy and I certainly plan to be around afterwards.
Installed a couple of LW2201 wireless security cameras made by Lorex, I have installed others in the past but these wireless cameras surprising doesnt interfere with any other signals, they use something called the digital wireless technology which also gives you a great wireless range, I was able to get up to 400 feet from wireless camera to the reviewer.
I have a dvd player that has wireless backspeakers and the wireless card on the dvd player interups my internet wireless so i unplug it and plug it back in and then it works. What a pain!

My question is, I don't know where to begin with the set-up of a wireless security camers. I have vaulted ceilings, 2 stores but would like them set up all aroundthe house with night vision & such but am concerned that other wireless devices will interfere with the performance of my wireless security camers. I want at least 8 cameras (at lest two on 2nd story facing street that is motion sensitve or records when motion is detected. Thanks for your help & expertise. Take care! =)
dont use wireless for serious video feeds...it can easily be DeAuth'd from the AP using basic stuff like aireplay. Or the AP can be knocked out and spoofed and your signals can be intercepted by anyone with basic security knowledge and a laptop...
You got to compare apple to apple. Talking about the same wireless analog cameras, currently 2.4GHz is most likely the worse one due to its growing interference problems with Wi-Fi network, possible neighboring 2.4GHz users,... Considering higher price of 5.8GHz and stronger signal penetration of 900MHz, I would suggest less crowded 900MHz one. However, within one year or so, digital/encrypted 2.4GHz wireless camera will be released. It will be safer and no more interference problems.
"I have a life", says the guy sitting in front of two 24" (or even bigger) screens in a hundreds of dollars worth chair. As if he does not LIVE at that desk and hardly sees any daylight. Hilarious
You dont know Chris. So jealous as you sit in your Wal-Mart chair with your Hewlett Packard PC and 19" monitor with enough time to kill that your leaving comments. Uh-huh. Its his job, like many of us who work on our computers from home.
is that a samson USB microphone? i'm trying to find a studio quality USB mic. Tired of EM interference caused by local radio and internal PC EM pulsations.
You should have distinguished analog and IP cameras for the young lady. Wireless analog is easily intercepted, WiFi is encrypted. So she doesn't have to worry about the kind of camera you were demonstrating their, things that it's an IP camera with encryption
