I am still on Leopard 10.5.8. What would happen if 10.6.1 came out and I did the software update by making it think I have 10.6? Would it be a free upgrade to Snow Leopard or would it screw up my computer? Very interesting video; it brought a lot of ideas to my head.

Its not pointless it was fun for some people to do if you have the time. and as f\the intro i made it better i was playng around with my old and new one in this video.,ß

Why would you want to do this? When you update, you will probably lose all your data and screw up your mac.

It wont screw up your date. Lets say in 10.5.6 They disabled DFU Mode. You could change it to 10.5.6 So It dosnt ask you to update.

When you update to 10.6.1 you would be screwed because it is updating files that exist or are written in a old language like 10.5 finder.

Sorry i forgot to tell the file. Its SystemVersion.plist Also textedit is in applications.
