What does Dan Osman have to do with Sonnie Trotter? Dan Osman was a free soloist, Trotter is not. Dan Osman didn't even die while free soloing, he died while free falling on rope. Trad climbing with bomber gear placements is relatively safe, especially if you're as experienced as Trotter. I don't see the connection that you're trying to make yynnmmbb.

Red pointin is doing parts of the climb seperatly over and over. then you link a few parts together until you smash up the whole thing in one go with no rests.

Then of course flashing a climb is doing it straight of with no prior beta for it.

Many of you are saying that this isn't free climbing, it is though. Free climbing is climbling without the help of ropes and stuff. However, the ropes are still still there for protecting in case of a fall. Climbing with no protective gear is called "solo climbing."

The rock is super hard, and Sonnie is one of the best/most experienced free climbers in the world.

Provided you know what you are doing, this is a sport extremely concerned with safety.
