Several times, ol' Slurg just threw his units at counters. Throwing his Collossi at the Phoenixes was the last straw, especially after the hallu spotted them there. Should have attacked them from the west and microed the air with his Stalkers. :^/

Slurgi's micro is what killed him... he'd have won with ease if he could micro decently. Honestly he never targetted his opponents colossi and when he made the hallucinated colossi to absorb the damage he kept them behind the real colossi.

this was the power of focus fire,Tyler opted for sacrificing smaller units to kill bigger units(zelots for colosus, phoenixes for colosus), and the placement and focus fire in the battle of defending Tyler base was supirior to army count.... is slurgi was smar enough to place the 2 fake colosus in front and focus fired he would have win this game easly...GG

This is the problem with most Protoss players, even high level ones. One void Ray at tylers expo would have ruined him. Either he loses his expo or gets out of postion to defend his main. Protoss has so many tricks, you just have to think creatively enough to use them.

nony was obviously way better than slurgi; if anything, slurgi managed to "stay in the game" because of that ONE macro decision he made at the beginning to expand while nony chose to build up an army which gave him a huge lead. But no huge lead will save you if your opponent micros that much better

Tyler should have lost it, as it was Sturgi's game to lose, which he indeed pissed away. Tyler had momentum at the start w good proxy def, but he expo'd too late, did nothing to thwart or even harass Slurgi's larger base count, and macro'd reinforcements too slow.

But Sturgi's position in the last major battle at 15:30 was worse than a lemming Conga line on a rooftop...

Half his stalkers got stuck at the ramp, & he LET colossi be raped by phoenixes.

Yeah, I think it was just nerves at the end for Slurgi. He could've slaughtered those phoenix, but instead he kept running with his stalkers. He also could've stayed outside and maintained the contain, and won simply because he was up 3 bases to 2. But his nerves convinced him to play his hand early, and then he flubbed up his micro.

It all came down to the focus firing at 13:40... If Slurgi had focus fired Tyler's colloxen he wouldve killed em right away and then melt away the zealots. But he lost 3 colloxen for nothing and even left Tyler's colloxen escape to defend his base. He lost the game right there.
