I forget about phone gaming since I rarely play I have an iPhone but only use it for Facebook, YouTube and music.

the ngp ships with a 3.7 volt 2500 mah battery. so i got a 3.7volt 5000mah battery to go in it.. im guessing you will get 24hrs of nonstop play out of it maybe more. for it to be portable i sugest you do that. keep the 3.7 volt the same and up the mah the more mah you have the longer the battery life. im importing my vita from japan. i have some friends that i play on the psn with that live there so i have the hook up lol. i think play asia is doing it to though and ebay but its gonna cost you

ps3 for one main reason graphics. the characters on everything before the ps3 console wise excluding the pc looked like blobs. so baisicky there was no detail and everything just kind of ran togeather and i think before technology modernised the nintendo games were built for there time. unfortinatly its over now though. its time for nintendo to step up and stop delevering crap.

Gameloft is going to port their games to the Vita. they already have at least one ported. and more developers are starting to develop their cellphone games for the vita.

Not a lot of people are in to the fact that to buy a VITA its gonna cost the same if not less to buy a full console, like cell phones not being better than handheld console, hand held console games will never be better than consoles and to state the obvious consoles will never be as good as PC's blah blah blah but the appeal obviously in phones having games is that it basically does what a handheld is made to do, mobile gaming amirite? #1 do you have to get the 3g on psp vita or can you get it without
@TDxAL no you don't its like the 3ds you get updates and dlc addons with other ish like messages and mail while you sleep or not useing the device like in sleep mode while you have WiFi. But the 3g version does all of that with out WiFi so its constantly keeping you contacted versus WiFi which you have to be next to a access point. And it would cost you 25-30 bucks a month with at&t which is not unlimited as far as u know but almost ever were you go has wifi. I'm getting 2 WiFi versions

Nintendo screwed themselves over in terms of price, remember nintendo raised the price to $250 after the positive E3 reception, they raised it too high, now they had to lower it because it was the big obstacle and having a lack of games + late launch of software, the 3DS itself was just being screwed over. nintendo had remote play 1st with N64 and GB/GBC (it was fun but only worked with pokemon) then GC and GBA, it only worked with 4 swords adventure but u had to jump through hoops to do it, basically, it failed because there was no use for it (it was still fun though) and remote play for psp/ps2 and psp/ps3 failed for the same reasons. and only thing vita is doing that is new is add better graphics and 3G besides that, its a psp with DS technology

Agreed. The Vita being at $250 wasn't the reason why Nintendo lowered the price of the 3DS to begin with. They did it because no one's buying the handheld at $250. If they lowered the price of the 3DS because of Vita being at $250, it would make them look desperate.

There are mobile devices that will be more powerful than Vita, but my question is, will we ever get substantial games on them? More importantly will we get controls worth a damn? It's pretty obvious that the days of dedicated handheld systems are numbered but to me that's a shame because at this point it's the one market I feel is left for people who want a traditional gaming experience. I don't like what the mobile devices offer and I hate the direction the home console market is going.

I can't play games on phones. I have an iPhone, and I've tried gaming on it, and I just cannot get used to it. I used to have Sonic the Hedgehog on my iPhone, and I couldn't stand trying to use the touchscreen to play, I need actual physical buttons, and until smartphones have buttons that are used specifically for gaming, I can't do it. I'd much rather carry a dedicated gaming handheld around, I mainly just like using my phone for web and YouTube streaming.

There is too much of a difference between mobile and console gaming especially when controls are very important to play a game and mobile phones refuse to ad good controls to play games, and 5 minute games are not for everyone.

Being a college student I have lots free time between classes and thats when I bust out my portable gaming devices. I love portable gaming, I have a 3DS, DS XL DS Lite, gameboy micro, psp 3000, psp go, I phone , I pad and I'm going to get PS Vita, Most of students here are the same way, instead of studying, there playing games on portable gaming devices.
As battery life improves for smartphones Nintendo will have no choice but to make a device for cell phone carriers, Sony already did it but i think Nintendo is waiting for the right opportunity where they can make the most money possible after the 3ds.

ps3 for one main reason graphics. the characters on everything before the ps3 console wise excluding the pc looked like blobs. so baisicky there was no detail and everything just kind of ran togeather and i think before technology modernised the nintendo games were built for there time. unfortinatly its over now though. its time for nintendo to step up and stop delevering crap.

Not a lot of people are in to the fact that to buy a VITA its gonna cost the same if not less to buy a full console, like cell phones not being better than handheld console, hand held console games will never be better than consoles and to state the obvious consoles will never be as good as PC's blah blah blah but the appeal obviously in phones having games is that it basically does what a handheld is made to do, mobile gaming amirite? @TDxAL no you don't its like the 3ds you get updates and dlc addons with other ish like messages and mail while you sleep or not useing the device like in sleep mode while you have WiFi. But the 3g version does all of that with out WiFi so its constantly keeping you contacted versus WiFi which you have to be next to a access point. And it would cost you 25-30 bucks a month with at&t which is not unlimited as far as u know but almost ever were you go has wifi. I'm getting 2 WiFi versions

Nintendo screwed themselves over in terms of price, remember nintendo raised the price to $250 after the positive E3 reception, they raised it too high, now they had to lower it because it was the big obstacle and having a lack of games + late launch of software, the 3DS itself was just being screwed over. Thankfully nintendo if fixing all the things they screwed up on- and to be honest thats all they need to do- The Vita was maybe 12% of Nintendo's concern. As far as Phone gaming = No just No

nintendo had remote play 1st with N64 and GB/GBC (it was fun but only worked with pokemon) then GC and GBA, it only worked with 4 swords adventure but u had to jump through hoops to do it, basically, it failed because there was no use for it (it was still fun though) and remote play for psp/ps2 and psp/ps3 failed for the same reasons. and only thing vita is doing that is new is add better graphics and 3G besides that, its a psp with DS technology

There are mobile devices that will be more powerful than Vita, but my question is, will we ever get substantial games on them? More importantly will we get controls worth a damn? It's pretty obvious that the days of dedicated handheld systems are numbered but to me that's a shame because at this point it's the one market I feel is left for people who want a traditional gaming experience. I don't like what the mobile devices offer and I hate the direction the home console market is going.

I can't play games on phones. I have an iPhone, and I've tried gaming on it, and I just cannot get used to it. I used to have Sonic the Hedgehog on my iPhone, and I couldn't stand trying to use the touchscreen to play, I need actual physical buttons, and until smartphones have buttons that are used specifically for gaming, I can't do it. I'd much rather carry a dedicated gaming handheld around, I mainly just like using my phone for web and YouTube streaming.

Being a college student I have lots free time between classes and thats when I bust out my portable gaming devices. I love portable gaming, I have a 3DS, DS XL DS Lite, gameboy micro, psp 3000, psp go, I phone , I pad and I'm going to get PS Vita, Most of students here are the same way, instead of studying, there playing games on portable gaming devices.

As battery life improves for smartphones Nintendo will have no choice but to make a device for cell phone carriers, Sony already did it but i think Nintendo is waiting for the right opportunity where they can make the most money possible after the 3ds.

I pretty much agree with most of the things you said but ninty and even sony have heratitage,exclusives and brand recognision unlike mobile devicees will pretty much pump out the same game regardless of what mobile device it is on and the story will suck lol but i can see them gaining a big chunck of the market(the vert casual market)
